As the Earth buckles beneath the oppressive weight of the sun, the Canadian government soon deems it necessary to find a new planet for 6,000,000 earthlings to colonize. It thus sends a spaceship, the Romano Fafard up into orbit, piloted by captain, Charles Patenaude (Guy Jodoin) and his crew; they intend to journey to the farthest reaches of the galaxy, and to find a hospitable planet "where mankind has never set foot."
