When he proposes marriage, she properly announces that she'll need her guardian's consent, and thus the stage is set for the film's conclusion.     This is an incredibly sweet film. A young orphan girl grows up in a dreadful orphanage with no company but the other mistreated children. One day, a mysterious benefactor decides to send her to college. While there she wins the hearts of two gentlemen, one man many years her seni... read moreor and one incredibly immature co-ed.The orphan girl, Judy, strives to pay back her "Daddy Long Legs" for his generosity while sorting out her love life and her tumultuous past. Mary Pickford is absolutely gorgeous and wonderful to watch and I found my self engaged and invested in this film, which isn't usually the case with 1910s silent cinema.

    This was my first Fred Astaire movie I remember seeing. It was this movie that I fell in love with Fred and his dancing.
