I.S.A.A.C. (Intuitive Synthetic Autonomous Assault Commando) is the prototype of a highly classified government program designed to create assassins that are both intellectually superior, and possess the power to physically regenerate their bodies and minds. Upon breaking free from the lab, I.S.A.A.C. takes Deputy Lindsay Rearden (Tiffani Thiessen) hostage in an attempt to expose the program used to create him to the public. But accomplishing this mission will be no simple task, because world-renowned robotic engineer Simon Hart (Bruce Greenwood) is hot on I.S.A.A.C.'s trail, and he's got a small army of military agents who have orders to shoot on sight. Now the chase is under way, and the man responsible for creating I.S.A.A.C. is about to find out just what a remarkable specimen he's truly created. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

Actually not bad for its type - better than any similar movie starring Van Damme, for instance. TAT is surprisingly good as the cop caught up in a crazy military cover-up as one of their engineered soldiers goes AWOL. If you're itching for not-completely-mindless action, then t... read morehis isn't a total waste of time. (How's that for a DVD cover blurb?)

Meh... The chick in this movie is dumber than a rock... other than that, it was a good watch. I recommend this movie for those who don't mind watching an idiotic sheriff consistently betray the man that's keeping her alive.

Extremely low budget offering from Nu Image, starring a John Cena-looking MMA guy and the chick from 90210(Tiffany Amber Thiessen). From the get-go, this movie seemed familiar. Oh yeah, that's because it's a total knock off of Universal Soldier. In fact, Cyborg Soldier borrows se... read moreveral set pieces verbatim from the original Uni Sol, including the scene in the diner with the waitress, the sticking knives in the body scene, the motel room, the running/car scene, etc... For a sci-fi action film, this movie was pretty low on action, opting instead to feature several scenes of scientists arguing and brooding about finding the cyborg guy, and lots of conversations between a worried Thiessen (who was, to my surprise, in here for more than 10 minutes) and the cyborg soldier, Isaac (played by the terribly wooden, but promising, UFC fighter Rich Franklin). Franklin's delivery of his lines makes Van Damme look like Brando in comparison. It's difficult not to sympathize somewhat with his performance, but he needs a better vehicle (and acting lessons). The villains who chase Isaac and Thiessen around aren't very effective or memorable, and spend most of their time on the computer while the film cuts to scenes of the MMA cyborg guy (who isn't a cyborg at all) and 90210 chick running through the snow. More or less, I'd skip this if I were you. It's terribly low on action, stunted by a low budget, and just plain boring most of the time. I think if it's on tv, you might want to have it on in the background if 'Night Court' isn't on, but that's about it.

I actually liked this movie. It's another one that's probably of Sci Fi caliber, but I would definitely be willing to entertain a sequel of some sort.
