In fact, most of the world is being run by the sophisticated androids. The conflict turns violent when the Kobayashi cyborgs begin methodically killing their competition. To stop them, the head of Pinwheel, Martin Dunn, creates the perfect computer housed in the body of a beautiful woman. The cyborg, Casella Reese, has a strange fluid flowing within in her that when activated will cause her to literally explode should she have an orgasm; Dunn designed her to infiltrate Kobayashi and assassinate the CEO. The real problems begin when Casella, who is also equipped with human emotions and independent thought, falls in love with her martial arts teacher, Colt Ricks. When she learns of her upcoming suicide mission, she and Colt, with the help of their informer, the cyborg mercenary Mercy, try to reach Mombasa where unlicensed androids can live in peace. Unfortunately, they must first escape their city and the cyborg killers who pursue them. ~ Sandra Brennan, Rovi

    "Don't get dead."
What a plump, rich, sweaty fecal meatball this is. Cyborg 2 was made in a time when Angelina Jolie was making movies and you would see her name in the credits and go, "who the hell is Angelina Jolie?" The few number of people who knew of her knew that she was te... read morerrible but it didn't matter because she wasn't famous. then people started to learn that she was Voight's kid and that she was bisexual and then it was like, "oh. wow. i guess i could see myself renting Cyborg 2." and incase you don't care for things that evolve from John Voight's cum but still like sci-fi actioners, this is a movie about an old bearded scientist who engineers fem-bots to explode right after a man "explodes" inside them. you can actually see this demonstrated once, in the first five minutes, so that will save you a whole 95 minutes of Angelina Jolie. personally, i feel fine giving this a star and a half for the fact that i felt really cool watching Elias Koteas chain-smoke 7 cigarettes under a red neon light.

Wow this film is one of the worst films I've seen yet it has one of the best cast line ups I've seen haha
a real mix of cult and crap in one lol
The acting is in places terrible, really awful, but sometimes this is forgiven for some quite lovely corny lines and over the top chees... read moree acting....all mainly courtesy of Jack Palance :)
The other thing that's cool about this is a very young Angelina Jolie in skimpy outfits and kicking the ass of a never ending supply of cheaply dressed henchmen hehe it's a full on turd mobile but it does have afew very small OK little touches.

"If you're gonna dine with the devil, schiiiiiiii, you'd better bring a looong spoon, nah!" If Jack Palance hadn't said this line, this movie would have absolute zero value.

This is my first-time Angelina Jolie movie in this sequel's ripoff of Max Headroom and Blade Runner. It has few fights are at least watchable, and it features Karen Shepard and that over-acting weirdo Billy Drago as the villain.

If you said this film was irreconcible, then you have juts made an understatement.
Jolie's major film debut, in "Michael Schroeder's" Cyborg 2" was less than gratifying. This film takes the modern Sci-fi genre we all know and flips it upside down.
It takes the Original to grea... read moret hieghts, and the original "Cyborg" wasn't a success for "Van damme"
I highy Reccomend you don't see it.

Yep, it's awful and only noteworthy for the first film appearance of Angelina Jolie. You can also watch Jack Palance snort & wheeze through his lines, which when intercut with Jolie's moment of toplessness makes for one of the most disturbing sex scenes ever conceived. Gets an ... read moreextra half-star only because she's in this one and J-C Van Damme isn't.

Ever wanted to see a young Angelia Jolie as an ass kicking female cyborg? Well if you ever did this is the movie for you. Other than that this doesn't have a whole lot going for it, other than some decent performances by Jack Palance,Elias Koteas and Billy Drago. Everything else ... read morein this low budget sci fi cheese fest kinda sucks ass. The plot is kinda all over the place and the action is few and far between. Being a sequel to the 1989 Martial arts action movie starring Jean Claude Van Damm this film is pretty sub par compared to the action packed original. Some positives is that this had some interesting lighting in some parts and the few fight scenes weren't too bad. Another positive is that you get to see a very sexy Angelia Jolie before she become a total anorexic corpse and still had some of her sexy baby fat. Its also painfully obvious that Angelina Jolie and Elias Koteas were way too good for this movie and in a way you could tell they felt that way by how they acted during some of the scenes.Elias Koteas kinda played a lazy version of his usual charming badass self, which was a disappointment to me as a fan of his. Jack Palance did one of his many 400 I need a paycheck roles (which at his age you'd think he could have saved a dime or two) but he does a good job playing himself as usual. Billy Drago is his usual creepy self which takes no effort at all so he made for a decent bad guy, but he seemed to be slumming it and kinda playing this half assed like everyone else.
I think that this film would have benefited from having some actual martial arts stars in this because this wasn't meant to be a dialog driven movie. The two leads being not being trained in martial arts are very sloppy with their action scenes, and it shows big time. If you're looking for a non stop action fest like the first one you'll be disappointed, but you want a cheesy mid 90s sci fi time waster then this would be good enough if you can netflix instant watch it.

"If you're gonna dine with the devil... You better bring a long spoon." Jack Palance's incomprehensibly silly, but off the chain, line is the only really good thing about this garbage; well, other than Angelina Jolie at her total hottest ever as a jailbait cyborg.

I remember ... read morethis coming out back in the day, but I never got around to renting it. Upon viewing it recently, I can only say: "gross."

The movie opens with some raspy Jack Palance narration, as he explains that cyborgs have replaced humans in almost every way in the service industry: from garbage men to sex workers. There are two corporations, a Japanese one and another one called Pinwheel, Only, the Pinwheel dudes are the baddies, and they're creating a beautiful cyborg that looks like Angelina Jolie to go to Tokyo, infiltrate the rival corporation, and blow herself (and it) up. The problem is, she falls in love with Elias Koteas, and the two run off together. As you can imagine, the pair are subsequently hunted down from all sides.

'Cyborg 2' is easily one of the worst movies I've seen in awhile. It was reeeealllllly hard to sit through all at once, and that's saying a lot, considering I watched crap like 'Film Geek' and 'G.I. Executioner' in one sitting. I think this just goes to show that less is really more where these types of movies are concerned. Albert Pyun's original masterpiece dismissed all pretentions to being a cerebral character study of what it means to be human through the locus of an android/cyborg, and gave us 88 minutes of drive in B movie fun: lots of ass kicking, corny dialog, cheesy 80s synth score, and Van Damme splits. 'Cyborg 2' seems to have a more thought-out plot, but just bores the viewer to tears. I felt like the makers decided to throw in some stock footage from the first one and just call this a sequel, because it has nothing else to do with it plotwise,

I've already mentioned how Angelina Jolie is a total jailbait hottie here; her co-stars didn't fare too well, aside from Koteas. I'm a big fan of Elias Koteas, perhaps best known as Casey Jones from the TMNT franchise- but who I loved best in the first 'Prophecy film.' He was pretty solid, as always. He didn't have too much to work with, his role essentially being a human martial arts instructor who falls for Jolie and helps her escape from the Pinwheel corporation. To his credit, Koteas took a role which was, more or less, a poor man's Van Damme, and made it somewhat interesting. But just barely.

The rest of the cast was non-existent, The Pinwheel pin-heads didn't do shit most of the pic- the only interesting thing they did was at the beginning, when they're watching one of their female cyborgs have sex, and they detonate the bomb they put inside of her: "cyborg stew," one of 'em quips. Jack Palance- who was pretty much cashing a paycheck or doing a favor for his key grip nephew- was just some lips on a monitor screen until the last five minutes, when he shows up ready to dine with the devil with a looonnng spoon as the cyborg Mercy. Billy Drago didn't help matters by looking so disgusting and doing his best Skeletor/Joker/over-the-top generic villain impression. Drago was supposed to be the main villain, and he even has a couple of badly directed fight scenes with Koteas. The problem is, no matter how gross and "scary" Drago tries to be by peeling off his skin or throwing bad punches and kicks, he's no Fender.

Truly a waste of celluloid. This ultimately comes off as a messy cross between wannabe Wiilliam Gibson cyberpunk and late night Skinemax soft porn. Save yourself the rental price and just thow Albert Pyun's 'Nemesis' or the classic original into the DVD player again.

It's not a good movie, but this is when I first fell in love with Angelina Jolie. It's actually fairly compelling.

I don't remember it all too well, since the last time I saw it was years ago, but from what I remember it was okay.

I suspect this sequel was made solely to make the first one look (a little) better.
