Luc Besson produced action films are always generally a bit of a guilty pleasure. They usually involve car chases, revenge and parkour too and Colombiana is no exception - except I liked it a little bit more. It doesn't have the humour that many of his other films have like Taxi ... read more

Zoe was electric, but so many of the plot points just didn't make sense. It was Leon The Professional, but without the comic relief and heartwarming at its center. Without those two things, you end up with a cold, heartless, soulless homage to premeditated violence.

A child witnesses the deaths of her parents right in front of her at the hands of a mobster, and, after she escapes, she trys to rebuild her life and vows revenge. That's it.

There's bad acting all around, but you can't fully blame the performers. The dialogue needed a writer to come in and punch it up - the lines sound like placeholders. Full Review
Colombiana isn't the last word in action movies, but it's a fun ride. Full Review
Megaton blows things up, demolishes a fruit market, and throws in some parkour foot-chases as if he's completing a checklist. Full Review
Colombiana isn't completely dreadful, if you ignore the holes in its Swiss cheese of a plot. Full Review
We all love a steamy pile of frivolous nonsense now and then, but it has to move quickly or we lose interest, like a joke that stops being funny. Full Review
It turns into the same silly stuff we've seen before, a dish of revenge served not so much cold as reheated. Full Review
As straight exploitation, it's amusing, in fits and starts. It's just that "Colombiana" lacks the kinetic energy of "The Transporter" and the pathos of "La Femme Nikita." Full Review
Luc Besson keeps ralphing up scripts about beautiful lady killers, but that doesn't mean you have to keep seeing them. Full Review
