Several years have passed since the events of the previous film, and yet again the makers of Good Guys dolls -- a line which included the homicidal Chucky -- decide to reinstate their product line. Un... read more read more...fortunately, some of the materials used are still imbued with the evil spirit of serial killer Charles Lee Ray (voice of Brad Dourif), whose soul once inhabited the Chucky doll... and who returns to action in a spanking new Good Guy body. Determined at first to finish the job he started by swapping bodies with young Andy (Justin Whalin) -- who is now a teenager in military school -- Chucky decides to change tactics, setting his sights on a much younger boy. When Andy becomes aware of the situation, he is compelled to put a stop to Chucky's Satanic antics once and for all. The signs of a creatively-depleted horror franchise are evident (they had already shown themselves in the previous installment), but there is still enough juice left for the spooky climax, which borrows a riff from Tobe Hooper's The Funhouse. ~ Cavett Binion, Rovi

You'd think kids at a military school could kill a doll. This movie was not as good as the previous two, it's not very scary or exciting.

While this film is sub-par, it's not as terrible as people make it out to be, and I'm not gonna crap all over it. It's not great, but it is fun and puts a creatvie spin on things. I also like that some of this was filmed in my state, even though I don't live near where it was sho... read moret.

I like that they decided to make this another "Andy versus Chucky" film, but that they put a little twsit on things. The setting is also pretty cool. I do wish they'd come up with more plausible explanations for Chucky's return though. (I'm glad they took that advice for the next film).

A lot of this is by the numbers, but Dourif still does a good job, Whalin is okay, and I like Peerey Reeves. The effects are cool too.

Give this one a chance. It's not great, but it's better than it's reputation would have you believe.

Child's Play 3 is by far the most comical of the series, and has quite a few good moments. But in terms of a good story, the film fails and the acting is terrible, and above all; the way the actors portray their characters it makes them unlikeable and really irritating. If you li... read moreke these films, I suggest you watch them, otherwise if you don't like tongue in cheek Horror then these films aren't for you. I just watched these films to kill time, really. I had nothing else better to do. If you want the best Horror Comedies, check out Bad Taste, Army Of Darkness and Evil Dead Part 2. At least those films have something very creative to offer instead of a tired killer doll franchise, that lost all credibility after the first one.

They should stop making more of this. It's getting weird.
  • May 13, 2010
Completely hilarious, this is really the one that accomplishes and going over the deep end. It's a lot like Full Metal Jacket, only with a sadistic doll running around causing trouble. They got some better actors for the roles and you can see that there was a definite aim for an ... read moreover the top style.

Chucky (Dourif) is still a fun character and its good they stayed with the Andy story but this film is really crap.

Andy, the boy that the evil "Good Guy" has always terrorized, is a teenager now. After enrolling in a military school and beginning to experience the downsides of being the new kid in town, the last thing Andy needs is to be reminded of his horrible past (Chucky). The last thing ... read moreAndy would want to hear about is Chucky, but Chucky sure is dying to hear from Andy.
Ever since I was a kid, I've always been a major fan of the "Child's Play" movies. Unlike many people, I like the first three films in the saga. I don't really want to say it, but "Child's Play 3" isn't quite as good as the first two movies in this classic horror series, but it's certainly not far behind.

In "Child's Play 3," there are still tons of blood baths that all have Chucky's name on them, and almost everything else about the film is well done. The acting is good enough, the special effects aren't bad, and the movie itself is suspenseful, and it never gets boring. However, as great as it is, it's just doesn't quite live up to the greatness of its two predecessors. I guess the main reason I think that, is because the killings don't seem to be as exciting and the movie itself isn't as scary as the other two.

If you're a fan of the first two movies in the series or if you like the classic kinds of horror films in which killing sprees are the name of the game, I recommend adding "Child's Play 3" to your collection. NOTE: That was my Amazon review from the year 2001.

"Child's Play 3" is a reasonable second sequel from director Jack Bender. While the film doesn't really bring anything new to the world of Chucky, it remains faithful to the original films.

Andrew ("Dirty Harry", "Hellraiser") Robinson makes an appearance as a slightly bonkers b... read morearber and makes the film a tad more enjoyable.

The horror is all played for laughs but there's a few moments of suspense early on in the proceedings.

The effects are first class but this isn't anything more than "Chucky by numbers". A slightly lazy affair, this film was the end of the line for the franchise until 1998's inspired "Bride of Chucky".

An average day for everybody's favourite plastic playpal.

I thought this was better than the 2nd one to be honest. Bit more action and a good setting and finale to film make it more enjoyable. However it's still all a bit B movie comedy horror, unintentionally.

Most people dont seem to like this one, but it was my favorite out of the series. It might just be because, sadly, it was the last Childs Play movie, before Chucky because more entertaining and hilarious to watch, rather, then, scary like he was meant to be.
