One day, while walking through the school's soon-to-be-demolished conservatory, Yeh hears an intoxicating melody being performed by talented Lu Hsaio-yu (Guey Lun-mei). When Yeh asks Lu the name of the song, the pretty pianist shyly responds that it's a secret. Later pursued by female student Ching-yi (Alice Tzeng), Yeh rebuffs her advances to arrange a secret rendezvous with Lu that goes unexpectedly awry. In the aftermath, Lu disappears from the school, leaving the lovelorn Yeh reeling. Five months later, Yeh is performing at the school's graduation ceremony when he locks eyes with the long-lost Lu. While Yeh is determined to win Lu back, a secret from the past threatens to sink the prospect of a lasting romance between the pair. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

Jay Chou proves that he is not only a great singer and songwriter, but also a great actor, scriptwriter, and director. This movie is great... The soundtrack made by Jay Chou made the movie great... Love this movie...

The small thing that bothers me is that it's one of those films that ends, leaving you with questions that weren't answered.
    It's a charming love story.
But I hate that there is so much in the end that bugged me.

An amazing romance that had a wonderful pace with actors who really had their parts down. The ending is great and I was cheering for the main couple all the way through. The music was also wonderful, Jay Chou knows how to handle a piano. ^_^

Freshman director Jay Chou both helms and stars in this film... hell, he even wrote it. It's not as though he's created something unique here, but he did create something very solid and watchable.

The romance doesn't seem to blossom from anywhere in particular, but who is to ... read moresay why any two people grow immediately fond of each other? These are college kids after all...

To discuss the "secret" would give it away, so I'll refrain - however, some people are going to appreciate it and others will not.

Everything else - from the cinematography to the music - was great. Solid acting, solid script, solid effects as well. I think Jay has a bright future in filmmaking.

This is the type of film that Hollywood will buy the rights to and do a remake of starring Hillary Duff or some other horrible thing.

So, if you like beautiful piano music - this film has a fantastic score. If you like a good romance, then this might be for you. Try to see it without reading too much about it - there's a fantasy element involved and you would get the most out of it if you allowed the film to reveal its own secrets to you.

Kaa! I really like this movie! The music played in the movie really goes well with the story. I thought Lun-mei Guey and Jay Chou were great together!

For about an hour Secret delivers a highly satisfying love triangle that made me like it. Then it turns into something else that made me love it. Full Review
