A superb showcase of bloody John Woo inspired gun-play, extremely cool fight choreography and some truly death-defying stunt-work. The plot is far from original about a terrorist group with a nuclear bomb who hold an impoverished Thai village hostage until the Thai national anthe... read morem playing over the radio whips up the locals into a violent fight-back led by a group of athletes and a cop who were on a charity mission to send aid to the villagers. It's a 90 minute movie with almost 70 of those minutes being pure action, even during the end credits we are shown on-set footage of the stunt workers in action reminiscent of a Jackie Chan flick. It's brutal and hard-hitting entertainment - I defy anyone to say they were bored whilst watching this!

Those crazy thai stuntmen are trying to kill themselves once more in this cheesy but fun action flick. The story is absurd even for MA flicks standards, and Dan Chupong is even more limited as an actor than Tony Jaa. But once the action begins, oh boy does it begins, people getti... read moreng trown from moving trucks, bikes, crashing against cars, trowing themselves to burning wood-houses, kids fighting, elderly fighting, a guy with one leg kicking ass!

This might not be Ong Bak, but it's still a damn fun ride.

Merely okay. Some great stunts at the beginning, but bogs down kind of quickly.

    Wowsers.....

Well, Ong Bak for me is still the bench mark in Thai movies.... the beauty and artistry of Thai warrior eclipses most Hollywood movies Ive seen. But where Born to Fight lacks the artistry, beauty, dialouge, with a few ridiculous moments, it certainly does make up ... read morewith the passion!!

It was interesting to see supreme Thai athletes kicking ass..... an interesting concept. But who cares about the stars noones ever seen on screen, the ACTION is what its about.

Brutal!! Bloody!! GRAPHIC!! more grapahic than most horror movies!!! this is seriously not a movie for the innocent of heart, and lots of people do get killed, especially in the 40 minute fight scene! Guns, blood, martial arts and such...... thrown in like a heap of mess, but its the passion which drives it..... random yelling and screaming, and people literally get beat up but good in that movie!! Stunts were unbelievable!!! when you think stunts couldnt get any better, the piece de resistance right at the end..... before the whole village the size of my suburb gets blown to hell. O_O!!!

throw in a rebel army, a cop, a team of athletes, the President of Thailand, a nuclear missle...... YES a NUCLEAR MISSLE!! and you got one very messy, bloody, passionate and extremely enjoyable movie!

if your into this sort of thing.... in terms of gratituous violence, I dont think any movie can match it!! In Oz, they gave it an MA15+ rating, which was very generous I think, after watching it!!!

So action lovers, Ong Bak lovers, this is like the movie you watch when your not watching Ong Bak. And people who have no bones about watching people get shot apart and beaten up 500 times.....

Enjoy... when Ong Bak is a nice, upper class 5 dish meal, Born to Fight is a poor mans buffet..... but ALL YOU CAN EAT!!

Just make sure you get your steak well done... after seeing the amount of claret spilled in this flick, you'll probably faint next time you get scratched.

I had high hopes for this movie since it was from the guys that gave us Ong Bak, but I was utterly disappointed. The stunts were pretty breathtaking but the movie itself was dull as can be. Some of the action was completely out of the ordinary as well. I mean what the... read more heck was up with that "sniper soccer" stuff?

I've seen many Action movies, both good and bad, but i've never seen anything like this movie.

A group of athletes helping a poor village must stop an evil tyrant and his men from terrorizing the village. One thing about this movie I think everybody will complain about is tha... read moret the story is just a story in this movie. It never fully develops, the character development is barely passable, and doesn't exactly add any emotional weight to the movie. Though the only thing good about the story is that it gives a solid motivation of the heroes to do there thing and save the day, but it doesn't completely feels like it. The story really hurts this movie, it could have been better.

The action is entertaining, despite what the movie the title there's actually a lack of actual fighting. It should have been called Born To Shoot since there is more shooting. While found the action in this movie in the slightly above average category which sucks because the last action scene has some amazing stunt-work. Considering the DVD case says from the creators of Ong Bak and The Protector I expected the same level of action, but it's better than The Protector, but it's not as good as Ong Bak, this fits in the middle of those two.

Born To Fight isn't a bad thanks to the story-line giving our heroes a good purpose to fight the terrorists. As an action fan you'll be disappointed as I was mainly because of the plot, if care for plot, the action won't exactly satisfy you until the final action scene. All in all, it's not a bad movie, but it fails to better than it should have.

The movie was awesome in so many ways. Once the action picks up, it doesn't stop and it truly had some unbelievable moments. It was like they let a small child with A.D.D. direct it after feeding him nothing but sugar for a week. I felt like I was watching a crazy action fil... read morem crossed with hardcore wrestling which I was hoping wouldn't turn into Faces of Death. Great film, I already can think of about 5 people I'm going to recommend it to.

just a good action flick with just alot of fighting and shooting but it was a bit silly with the gymnastics stuff and the plot was nothing special
  • February 26, 2008
I'm disappointed in this film because it could have been better. From the various olympic equipment set around the village to absolutely nonsensical fighting, this movie was laughable at best. It's a crappy version of Ong-Bak or The Protector.

One star for the story, three stars for the stunts. Do yourself a favor and fast-forward to the stunts and the outtakes.
