I'm on an animal jag now...saw this one somewhere along the line and it holds up well as a late nite DVD. Explores nicely our relationship with wild animals--what do we owe them in return for what to bring to our lives. Anyone who has ever lived with an animal can relate.

The second half was much better than the first that laid most of the groundwork. Some parts were dreary and drawn out too long, but the movie was very moving and informative.

I'm aware this is based on a true story, however I felt parts of it were ridiculous and unconvincing. Maybe it's because of the way it's presented, but it had me rolling my eyes a little. Still a decent film, but I wouldn't watch it again.

A heartwarming, touching and simple film, Pleasant cast, but the acting is a bit stiff. Well made, always interesting, wonderful African location filming. Great hit theme song.

So afer hearing the song a couple of times, my mom started singing it out of nowehere and I asked where the song was from- and that's how I came across this movie.
Everyone is right, it was a tear jerker.
