(Coincidence? We don't think so) Through vintage film clips of past Bond movie epics, and with the participation of several former "Bond Girls" as interviewees (among them Dr. No's Ursula Andress and Diamonds Are Forever's Jill St. John), the documentary traced the evolution of the typical James Bond heroine from decorative damsel in distress to gutsy (but still decorative) participant in the action. In addition to the provocatively named romantic partners enjoyed by the various movie Bonds over the past 40 years, the viewer is treated with the input of Judi Dench, the most recent actor to play 007's no-nonsense superior officer, M. Bond Girls Are Forever was co-produced and narrated by Maryam d'Abo, who appeared opposite Bond number four, Timothy Dalton, in The Living Daylights. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

An interesting documentary hosted by The Living Daylight's Maryam d'Abo which discusses what makes a Bond leading lady memorable, how the roles have defined the careers of the actresses who played them and how the parts have evolved in response to social changes.

Maryam d'Abo is... read more an engaging host and the documentary is at its best when she speaks with other actresses and they compare their experiences. Most have interesting things to say about their experience and the documentary does not labor its point too much.

The documentary is available accompanying Casino Royale on DVD and Blu Ray and is worth a look for fans of the series.

Well of course it's not a question. It's a fact, "Bond girls are Forever!" I told my friend after I saw this documentary hosted and narrarated by my All -Time favorite Bond girl Maryam d'Abo (She's like buttaaa) This Documentary not only talks about the obvious Bond girls being s... read moreexy, clever and brave but explores how Bond women have evolved from the 60"s to 2006's Casino Royale. The changes of Bond women over the years and women in society is a mutual and beneficial relationship that works like two mirrors bouncing information to each other that has lasted nearly 45 years. Even the word Bond Girl seemed politically incorrect as mentioned in the documentary "Bond Women" was more acceptable to today's standards, but ironically enough the Bond women prefer to be called "Girls" stating that it just sounds sexier. This not only entertains you but educates you, it reminds you that art imitates life, or at least brings a good argument. "Bond Girls are Forever" can be seen on the second disc of the Casino Royale special edition DVD. Only for the true Bond fan in you, or Bond girl.
