From Jan Kounen, the French director of the violent cult actioner Dobermann, comes this loose adaptation of Jean "Mobius" Giraud's comic series Blueberry. Vincent Cassel stars as Mike Blueberry, a law... read more read more...man whose past comes back to haunt him when his town is invaded by the nefarious Blount (Michael Madsen), the man responsible for his first love's murder. Led by a German con man by the name of Prosit (an unrecognizable Eddie Izzard), Blount and his crew search for an ancient treasure buried deep within Indian tribal grounds, while Blueberry and his Indian friend Runi (Temuera Morrison) race to keep the land sacred and stop the thieves by any means possible. Featuring Juliette Lewis and her father, Geoffrey Lewis, in supporting roles, the film sports a solid American cast that boasts an additional performance by Colm Meaney and a rare appearance by none other than Ernest Borgnine. ~ Jeremy Wheeler, Rovi

Take out the enhanced computer graphics and you have a decent western, This would have been much better on the big screen, Not sure why some parts were added. Seems all modern day westerns have to have effects added that really have nothing to do with the story or the time period... read more. Still its worth 3 stars

Odd one this. It?s got a fantastic cast, mind you, not everyone is on good form. Izzard is good, Madsen and Cassel are ok, Morrison gets the job done, Lewis should stick to singing and quite frankly I wanted to see so much more of Borgnine and Hounsou, who where the best characte... read morers but had the least amount of screen time. I liked the cowboy and Indian bits and I liked what they did with the SFX, it?s just that there was far too much of it towards the end. It went a little too 'Lawn Mower man' for my tastes but it?s not a bad film.

wow. mix Aronofsky's 'The Fountain' with DDL's 'Last of the Mohicans' and call it a western. Juliette Lewis' vocals grate and are more suited to belting out PJ Harvey tunes (Strange Days) than Irish standards. enjoyable and visually impressive.

what made this movie worth viewing was the cgi imagery and cinematography, and the abundance of some fine actors. the final cgi sequence is like nothing ive seen before.

Sick visuals closest animation to a DMT trip. Acting is cheese at times but the buttons make up for it.

Apart from having to look at Juliette Lewis's fat hairy underwater bush and throwing up in my mouth over it, I found this film to be pretty interesting. It had a cool style to it that stepped away from traditional westerns. I would venture to say it was kinda cool. I thought the ... read morepsychedelic CGI nonsense was a more of a gimmick than anything else, but it's interesting as I said. Worth a watch...

I have to preface by saying that I love Cassel, Madsen, and Eddie Izzard completely. However, Blueberry seems to miss the mark of what could have been a very good movie. The director is in love with atmospheric, metaphysical, sweeping, slow-motion imagery. Unfortunately when y... read moreou do that for a solid hour of a two hour movie, it becomes pretentious and, sorry to say, boring. A different director or some hefty editing could have resurrected this to as high as 4 stars.

It starts off okay, but the cg inner demon stuff and exceedingly erratic story became a bit much in the end.
