Michael Caine plays a reluctant lover to the daughter of his best friend on a vacation in Rio. His acting is pretty good, but the movie gets worse as it ages.

A really interesting film about a yopunger girl who falls for her father's older friend while vacationing in Rio de Janeiro. A great and funny film about love. Michael Caine, Demi Moore, Joseph Bolonga, and Michelle Johnson star in this 1984 comedy film.

Interesting twist, two friends go on vacation to Rio, friend#1's daughter falls in love with friend#2 (Kane), and one thing leads to another. Great music, and may I add lots of topless chicks.

Only Michael Caine walking around acting uncomfortable all the time provided the sole comic moments in the film. His object of affection provided iminimal emotional attachment and the monologues to camera were unneccesary and pulled out of the already less than developed plot.
Critic Reviews
This movie is clearly intended to appeal to the prurient interests of dirty old men of all ages. Full Review
Blame It on Rio is not simply humorless. It also spreads gloom. Full Review
Caine looks embarrassed through the entire film, as well he might. Full Review
Leering, witless sex comedy
More sizzle than onion rings
The script is too self-consciously coy to carry conviction and appears to have been commandeered from a small screen sit com. Full Review
I'd rather blame it on the screenplay.
Stuff that goes on in this movie is illegal nowadays. Full Review
