i love this movie!
i cry every time such a sad movie it really tugs at the heart strings!

December 4, 2011fb1619601747Much like the animated film Watership Down, this movie has a lot of trouble deciding a targeted audience. It's far too dark for children yet has a kiddie plot. Both films are based on novels, but it's one thing to read about more mature things and quite another to see it.

The perfect adaptation of the book, beautiful for adults and children alike. Good all round cast. Glorious music, atmosphere and acting, particularly by Thewlis and Bean. I have such fond memories of this film.
