This was suppose to be a B movie but i think they took themselves too serious. Its a throwback exploitation film but it fails to live up to what those were or do anything really different. It shot in a highly stylized format though which does give it a very interesting visual app... read moreeal. But it really is bad :)

Bitch Slap is one of the worst films that I've seen in the last few years. The film tries to be like other comic book style films such as Sin City, but it fails. Bitch Slap is a boring, uninteresting film with poor acting, poor plot and directing. However the film does look cool,... read more unfortunately that's not even enough to save this dreadful wreck of a film. The film could have been something good and entertaining, but the director doesn't know how to create effective action scenes or develop a good, engaging plot. Bitch Slap suffers from a poor script, and the potential is ruined on-screen. The film has nothing to offer. I was pretty bored watching this film, and you'd think with a title like Bitch Slap, you'd be in for a wild, crazy ride that's pure fun from beginning to end. Sadly, the film is quite bland. Bitch Slap is a missed opportunity to do something great as an action film. You'd think with a title like that, that the film would be awesome, unfortunately, it's not. The film is quite poor, and is a waste of time. The film tries to pull off the Tarantino/Rodriguez formula of Grindhouse but it fails to effectively create some sort of homage to the genre. The film is poorly done, really doesn't do anything to entertain you. The action scenes are dull, and uninspired. Where Grindhouse was fun film to watch, and was an effective homage to the Grindhouse films of the 70's, this one fails to deliver the fun that Grindhouse delivered so well. Bitch Slap is a slap in the viewers face, and really is not entertaining. The film is terrible and has nothing good or entertaining about it. The script sucks, the acting sucks and overall the film sucks. Avoid this piece of trash.

All Hail the "Poet Laureates," Rick Jacobson and Rick Gruendeman! This modern take on the exploitation film is pure entertainment, the B movie taken about as far as it could and still maintain an R rating. It stars the 3 unique personalities and skill sets of Camero, Hel, and Tr... read moreixie as the sexy feminine triumvirate, the males in the story only one-note players. The characters are so clichéd, there's even a bad Japanese schoolgirl. Also, several Hercules/Xena veterans like Kevin Sorbo and Lucy Lawless make cameo appearances. The film is completely outrageous, shallow, campy, trashy, and violent. It contains perhaps the most gratuitous scenes I can remember in one film. I loved Machete, but this one has more cleavage and lesbianism thrown in.

I'm sure Russ Meyer set the standard, and Quentin Tarantino brought it back, but this sexploitation romp stands up to any comparison. There's a storyline and plot twists, but ultimately what's the point? I'd risk giving away the ending, but the DVD cover itself hints at that. It is disjointed, and the numerous flashbacks break up the action but do not seriously deter the fun. Does it take itself too seriously? Not really, but it could have been even funnier. I cannot see anyone complaining of boredom though some have. It's three extremely hot babes kicking ass and exploring each other. It's an extreme guilty pleasure, and if the goal is a campy T & A fest, then mission accomplished!

Much like The Spirit, this tries to be another graphic novel type of moive that really just doesnt deliver. The only good character is the interesting looking punk badguy.

I see this is a modern throwback to the "B" movie exploitation films of the 50's to 70's since Quentin Tarantino's Death Proof. I think this grindhouse film is really stupid and weak about three gorgeous bitches going after a fortune held by a crime lord and chronicles the... read more death and destruction that follows. Its very tongue in cheek with an over abundance of close ups of the female form, pithy dialog and lots of violence.
There is maybe one quick scene where you get a boob shot, but that's about it.
The acting is almost laughably bad in places. America Olivo, with her eye-rolling and constant snarling, is the worst offender but Erin Cummings isn't too far behind her. Thanks to her character, and the ditzy cutie vibe she has, Julia Voth comes out of things the best.

This was a pretty bad film. Bitch Slap has nothing except for it's cool style and oddly, mild entertainment going for it. It is all terrible dialogue, sexy girls, weird characters, and a plot that really makes no sense, or just has no meaning at all. This film seriously could hav... read moree done without being made. The action was somewhat cool, and the style was impressive, but other than that, the film just sucks. The only response that should come from this film is a big bitch slap to the face, because at the end of the movie, you just want to have the sense knocked back into your head. This movie is junk, but it's cool to look at!

Whatever Tarantino and Rodriguez do tur... read morens into instant 'cool', and whatever's cool many want to imitate. Grindhouse, really cheap, trashy films made in the 70s, are as low budget as they come anyway, so even cheaper no name straight to DVD entries like this are even more game for slating. What I'm basically saying is, if you're a fan of Grindhouse, this should just about pass for you. If not, you can only pick it apart for what it is, the ultimate in cheap, trashy exploitation, with the threadbare, almost none existent plot, only there to serve as an excuse for the amply chested lead babes to get their chests sprayed wet at any given moment, or for another act of gratuitous violence to occur, or whatever. Grindhouse is in style at the moment, so if you're for it you're for it, or if you're not you should avoid this.

Obviously a film written and directed by film aficionados.

This film does for the exploitation, b-movie genre, what the Scary Movie franchise does for the horror genre...only this film takes itself more seriously. Not a lot of original ideas here, just bits and pieces from ot... read moreher films re-woven into their script.

I was expecting something more original, so I was disapointed. And as a fan of Lucy Lawless (don't let Xena fool you, she's very versatile and FUNNY!) I was disapointed that her role was a mere two minutes long.

Not funny enough to be a parody and not original enough to be a homage.

This comes up as a bitch slap indeed, a trash post-modern exploitation flick, deliciously sly and over-the-top, with three hot big-breasted babes kicking some asses and firing huge guns in a stylish comic book universe and a clever story full of nice twists.

I'm all for what Bitch Slap is trying to do. ALL for it. I really can't stress enough how much I support the idea of a movie like this. A quick glance at the movie's one-sheet or DVD case was all it took to convince me that this was something I needed to see. It does not hurt tha... read moret the three main actresses are too sexy for words, and the main characters of Hercules and Xena all have cameos. That's a lot of awesome.

I really enjoyed both halves of Grindhouse, and though I haven't seen many of the kind of movies that Bitch Slap pays homage to, I have a pretty good idea that I will like them when I finally get around to seeing them. My point is, that besides the obvious reasons, I was basically pre-destined to like this movie. And I did like it, for the most part. It delivered (often) on most of what it promised - hot, half-naked chicks.

Despite what you may think, Bitch Slap was actually rather tame. This applies to the violence, and everything else. It's not even really a hard R, like I was expecting.

So why not a higher score? The soundtrack consists of some kind of horrible metal (even worse than the normal kind) that would have fit much better in a 13 year-old's homemade skate video. The dialogue is a bit iffy, and not in a intentionally-so-bad-it's-good way. More like a someone-does-not-know-how-to-write-a-script way. And there's an absolutely awful, useless, annoying character that ruined the movie every second he was on screen. Besides that, my only fundamental problem with Bitch Slap, is that its particular mix of old and new film techniques doesn't work nearly as well as a strictly old- school style would have. There are so many unnecessary cinematic flourishes, that serve no purpose but to take the viewer out of the very aesthetic that the film is striving for.

As a result, Bitch Slap is often campy in a way that the filmmakers couldn't have intended. In the hands of a better director who was more committed to sticking to a more old-fashioned and authentic visual style, this easily could have been a great movie. As it is, it's just a fun, shallow over-the-top time. Something absurd to temporarily sate the violent sleaze-bag in all of us.
