    The first one was better.

The animation is a step down. The plot is a whiff of fluff compared to the masterpiece of the theatrical original. It just didn't feel very special or magical. Disney seemingly released this light-celebration of a classic, simply to make some dollars. As far as Christmas specials... read more go, there are far better traditional classics like Rudolph and Frosty to thrill the youngins'

Straight to video sequel that, unlike most recent attempts, actually has somewhere to go. The animation is so-so and the songs aren't too bad. Some nice new characters and funny moments make this perfect for family viwings and who could hate Christmas?

Disney's Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas is truly a magical film. What's especially impressive, is how it seamlessly fits into the chronology of the original film while delivering a new adventure. The Enchanted Christmas explores some new territory that the origin... read moreal didn't, yet still keeps the tone and spirit of the Disney Beauty and the Beast tale. And although Disneyâ(TM)s direct-to-video films have a less than impressive record, Enchanted Christmas serves as a shining example of what can be done in the right hands. Several original cast members have returned, and the animation is nearly equal to the original. Additionally, the film features several new songs that are charming and whimsical; especial "As Long As There's Christmas." Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas serves as a lovely addendum to the beloved classic Disney film.

Not nearly as memorable or as interestng as the original. Clearly this 'midquel' was only produced to get a few extra bucks during the holiday season of that year.

Why this movie has a 0% & "Return of Jafar" has a 30% is a question I still need an answer to.

This movie was done by the television animation studio, which would explain a little why the animation flawed in some moments, but it didn't stop it from being a beautifully done Dis... read moreney sequel unlike most others. It's definitely not better than the first one, but it is a great sequel. It's not as dark either, but only dark on the scenes with Forte.

Animation: It has a few flaws, but like most other Disney movies, it's still better done than "Return of Jafar". The coloring was pretty well done too. The excessive use of CGI really kills this movie. Maybe on Forte it was a good idea to use it, but using it on many of the other scenes more than actual 2D just ruins it.

Characters/Actors: We get the same old voice actors from the first one, & they still do a good jobe playing their characters. We even get some new characters & actors in here too. Sadly, most of the new characters aren't really much to talk about. Now the villain, Forte, played by Tim Curry, is one of the best, most underrated Disney villains. The BEast in here was a little goofier & sillier.

Score/Music: The songs are nothing special, & the same goes for the score. They're not that bad compared to the songs from "Return of Jafar" or "Cinderella II: A Twist in Time", but even so, they're not worth talking about. And Tim Curry sings in here again everyone.

Plot/Story: The major problem I had with this sequel. THe plot is rather rushed & is set from point A to point B quickly.

Dialogue: I really question the dialogue in this movie a lot more than the first one. The dialogue is rather eh, pretty bad.

SO all in all, this isn't a bad Disney sequel, but it's also not the worst. It's a great Christmas movie, & can maybe even teach some morals on the values of Christmas to people.

This is definitely a disappointment compared to the original Beauty and the Beast. It's alright for Christmas for children but overall it was underwhelming. I did enjoy the voice of Tim Curry though!
  • May 30, 2010
Tim Curry is wasted in this one but it's still kinda sweet for a disney sequel.

    Needless pap.
