    The acting was pretty decent and the plot is also entertaining. I did not like much the performance of Carolina Bang but she was still fine. One of the things that coul be changed is the final scene at the giant cross, I did like the ending but it could have been done in a better way. I don{t usually watch much spanish cinema but I felt curious for this particular movie I can{t say I had wasted my time.

    If you've seen the trailer for The Last Circus, then you'll know what type of movie to expect. This is definitely a movie that is grounded in absurdity and you should expect it to climb from there high in to the sky (literally).

    The Last Circus is about two "Happy" and "Sad" cl... read moreowns fighting for a sky dancer in the circus. As the movie progresses the clowns turn violent and grotesque as their inner demons begin to surface and show physically and emotionally.

    Although some of the undertones might have been lost on me due to it's Spanish back story and it did wander a tad, it was still worth the watch. Really, saying anything else would be pointless, if you like over-the-top movies and dark humor, then this is something to take a try with.

    This is playing US festivals under the title THE LAST CIRCUS, though I like the literal translation of the Spanish title (A SAD TRUMPET BALLAD) better. It's an allegory for the Spanish Civil War, but mainly its a gruesome, bloody b-movie action/melodrama that provides sporadic chuckles and thrills.

    "Balada Triste de Trompeta" es una cinta difícil de apreciar para aquellos esperando una tarde alegre en el cine pero sin duda es una propuesta original y sumamente entretenida para cinefilos mas arriesgados.

    This is a let down for me, i love all the Alex de la Iglesia movies but i thinks in this one the script is a problem, the things going to far and absurd in a bad way. everything else is awesome, the act, the direction, the photography, and the war scenes.
