John Hughes sticks to his seemingly fool-proof formula for success in Baby's Day Out, a cross-pollination of Home Alone and a Swee' Pea cartoon. However, while waiting for the delivery of the ransom money, Baby Bink manages to escape and subsequently embarks on a series of cutesy-poo adventures in downtown Chicago (including a crawl through a skyscraper construction site), leaving the hapless crooks in hot pursuit. ~ Jeremy Beday, Rovi

Baby's Day Out is a decent family comedy that has some good laughs, but is not one of the best John Hughes produced offerings. The film is quite entertaining, and is funny, but this isn't the type of comedy that has stood the test of time, like so many of Hughes' previous outings... read more as director or producer. Baby's Day Out is a fun film, but at times, the gags now have become redundant and unfunny. For what is, Baby's Day Out is a fun comedy that will appeal to the entire family, but like I've previously stated, some gags seem old and tiresome. When the film first came out, I remember that it was quite funny, but having re-watched it a few times since, The comedy feels a little flat, however it still manages to make me smile. There's a good cast here, and the actors playing the villains are funny in their parts and the rest of the cast do a fine job at making this film watchable. Baby's Day out is a decent comedy with decent laughs; however the gags aren't as great as I remember them to be. However, this is still a film worth seeing, and the film is quite entertaining at that. This is a comedy that the whole family can enjoy. The cast makes it worth seeing, especially the three kidnappers which are played by Joe Mantegna, Joe Pantoliano and Brian Haley. Despite its flaws, Baby's Day Out is still an amusing little film to watch, and does manage to make you smile even if the gags aren't as funny as the first time you've seen this film.

Love this film, it's so weird but at the same time really, really funny.

This movie is cute, sometime sickeningly so, but overall it's very funny and entertaining. I think kids will like it especially.

This isn't terrible, just kind of mediocre and a little dumb. The baby is unbearable cute and adorable though. I know that everyone needs to eat, but could they not have gotten some less well-known people instead of Mantegna and Pantoliano? It is fun to see a pre-"Sex and the Cit... read morey" Cynthia Nixon, though.

Baby's Day out is pure fun. If you like movies where young children outwit stupid grown-ups then this is the movie for you.

Joe Mantegna performs wonderfully as the leader of a trio of kidnappers who kidnap Baby Bink but soon find him causing more trouble than they can handle. I... read moref you liked films such as Home Alone then this movie will suit you.

There are wonderful scenes throughout. Baby Bink escapes his captors and starts crawling round the city and oddly, not one single adult seems to think this is out of the ordinary. The fun is seeing the blundering trio try to recapture him. There are some great moments, particularly when Baby Bink ends up in the gorilla cage at the zoo and when the trio arouse the suspicions of a policeman and Joe Mantegna hides Bink under a coat on his lap.

Whilst children will really enjoy this movie, adults will also get a kick out of it. Worth viewing if you can.
