This hysterical drive-in favorite pits a community of swamp-dwelling yokels against the silliest-looking monsters since the shag-rug aliens of The Creeping Terror. Despite the strange sucker-marks fou... read more read more...nd on a dead trapper's blood-drained body, and a man's story of seeing his unfaithful wife and her lover dragged into the swamp by the creatures, the police refuse to acknowledge that something freaky is going on. Only after more trappers disappear does the local game warden decide to take action, which he does with a vengeance. When the leech lair is discovered in a cave beneath the swamp, explosives are employed to blow them to little rubber bits. It's hard to be too critical of this early film from prolific TV-director Bernard L. Kowalski (Night of the Blood Beast), since executive producer Roger Corman allocated a budget for this production that would hardly cover the catering bill on a major studio film -- even in 1960! Look carefully to spot the scuba tanks beneath the leech costumes. ~ Cavett Binion, Rovi

The title tells you the entire movie, giant leeches attack some people, the end, there's nothing more to the movie. I don't recommend seeing this movie.

I just got this I-Pad app called Movie Vault, that allows me to stream all these old b-movies for free. It's like a little bit of Christmas for me. Anyway, there are already some pretty funny reivews of this movie, so I won't go on too much about it. It's a fun bad monster mov... read moreie. Certainly not a hall of famer, but there are worse ways to spend it's 60 minute running time.

Fantastic B movie. In fact, this might be the genre's poster-child. Simply awful, but awesome at the same time. Campy, cheesy, ridiculous fun. With a short 60 minute run time, its a quick watch, and a must see for B horror movie fans. I can't rate it any higher than 2.5 due to it... read mores awfulness, but don't let that fool you.

as far as bad movies go, i enjoy this one quite a bit...if nothing else, just for the terrible leech costumes that seemed to have been made from garbage bags...no wonder the lecches were so difficult to kill, they were hefty, hefty, hefty. anyway, it also has a terrible ending...... read morebut if you give it a chance, it's a pretty decent bad movie.

It's a classic shlock-fest. Hardly a cult classic, but it's not horrible either. Watch it or laughs and not for quality, because, trust me, quality is something this movie DOES NOT have up its sleeves.

hooboy. Those crazy leeches! It was certainly campy horror fun but nothing compared to some of the other great campy old horror flicks I have seen. The ending was so abrupt too! It was like "huh? oh. ok." I wouldn't recommend watching a movie like this unless you have some ... read morefriends to watch it with and laugh together.

A camp classic! So bad it's good. Giant leeches (not of the Anthony kind) attack people...that's about it. The beauty of the film is realizing that they actually tried to make something scary here. People in garbage bags don't really scream "LEECH" to me...nor terror. It's a... read more great comedy though!

There is a feeding scene in the unedited version of this film that is not to be believed. I still shudder..

If the ants in THEM and the grasshoppers in The Beginning of the End, and, God forbid, the shrews in Attack of the Killer Shrews weren't terrifying enough for you..

This particular monster opus is a fling equivalent, spontaneous and brisk and giddy. Sometimes, we all can use a one night stand. Full Review

"Attack of the Glad Bags" might be more accurate.
