Strictly for the burgeoning tweener set, concerned with acne, fashion, and that uniquely Brit expression of lust: snogging. In point of fact, the Brit viewpoint is what gives this film its singular charm.

Very solid, honest, and frank coming of age film from the director of "Bend It Like Beckham."

The story centers on a 14-year-old girl who keeps a diary about the ups and downs of being a teenager, includin... read moreg the things she learns about kissing.

The story is definitely for younger girls but still enjoyable for us gals who obviously have been through the same things that Georgia is going through. Although its funny and girls will be able to relate to some of the things, some of it is just unrealistic. The ending for sure. Just a little over done. Then again it was made for a younger girls who daydream about that stuff. But still an enjoyable watch. Funny and had some really awkward moments that all girls have experienced when it comes to their parents and the experiments we did with our hair and other things. But I also felt that this movie makes the girls seem a bit desperate for a boys attention and having to change things about themselves to be noticed. But of course in the end it does come off as saying 'just be yourself". It also gives a bit of taste of just how awful girls can be to each other. So I guess this would better for a younger audience. Mostly girls. They might get something out of it.

Just a story of some desperate teenagers. Is snogging becomes the main ambition in life? At some point I was totally disturbed. I also saw this in reality.

Not as good as i thought it would be but still worth a watch as it has some gags and is entertaining

If only this movie was out when I was 14, it would have been my favourite. Sad that I still really enjoyed it so much aged 34. LOL. Definitely not a realistic movie or how teenagers really are, but the sugar coated, pretty version you wish it could have been. Sweet.

It's not that I hate chick-flicks and Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging is actually quite involving - it's just that the protagonist is so unbelievably annoying, perpetually loud and exceedingly shallow that not much sympathy is left for us to care about what happens to her.

In "Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging," 14-year old Georgia(Georgia Groome), dreaming of a huge birthday party at a nightclub, is scarred for life by having to watch her parents(Karen Taylor & Alan Davies) kiss in front of her. Well, at least she won't have that problem after h... read moreer father gets a promotion that lands him in New Zealand. Georgia feels her own record on kissing is woefully inadequate, fearing she may go her whole life without doing the act. But things are looking up when brothers Robbie(Aaron Johnson) and Tom(Sean Bourke), older boys, transer to her school. Georgia's best friend Jas(Eleanor Tomlinson) gets off to a fast start by dating Tom but Robbie is already spoken for by Lindsay(Kimberley Nixon), padded bra and all.

"Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging" is almost a cautionary tale about never picking a movie solely based on its title. As winning as the movie is(especially in its opening sequence and Aaron Johnson's charisma) and full of good will, it still succumbs to predictability in an overblown climax that stretches credibility to the max while settling all scores with little to do with who is truly deserving, no matter what the movie may think. That's sad, considering these teenaged characters may think they are ready for adulthood but still have a lot to learn about adults and the world around them. Regardless, they should not read self help books for research.(Come to think of it, neither should adults.) And, oh, that poor cat!

Here's yet another movie about adolescent girls who want more than anything to grow up and experience all the perks of being a young adult, like having the perfect boyfriend, getting to snog, and developing shapely nunga nungas. Georgia is our main character who learns that she i... read mores beautiful just the way she is and that family and friends matter more than anything else in the world. I think this was a very true to life movie, except for a few things that I don't think would happen in real life such as the very last scene with the birthday party at the club. Unless you're super rich, your parents wouldn't book you the most expensive club in town for your 15th birthday and the most popular girl in school would probably not make a fool of herself on stage in front of everyone, including parents. And by the way, why were the parents all, "AWWW, our 15-year-old daughter is snogging a teenage boy?" The parents in these movies always seem to be like, "whatever you want dear, go ahead." They need to let kids be kids.

The film lacks the wit and drama that might pitch it beyond the target demographic, though judging from what makes the girls squirm in the film, it might not succeed even there.

A good-natured bundle of early-teen femme angst pitched squarely at the youngsters who've made Louise Rennison's books a hit both sides of the Pond. Full Review

These are age-old themes, not tackled with particular verve here, but there's a nice moral about girls learning to accept themselves regardless of shape or colour. Full Review
