This tired, pointless sequel (the sixth in the creatively bankrupt series) continues the premise explored in both Amityville: The Evil Escapes and later used in Amityville 1992: It's About Time, in wh... read more read more...ich the demonic forces occupying the infamous haunted Long Island spook-house reside within various household items that subsequently haunt their unsuspecting new owners. This time the curse inhabits an antique mirror from the house -- passed on to a photographer (Ross Partridge) by one of his subjects -- whose reflection presages the violent death of nearly everyone who gazes into it. Inane plot twists abound, leading Partridge to discover his own connection to Amityville's dark heritage, while his pretentious friends die in messy and uninteresting ways. ~ Cavett Binion, Rovi

Nothing new about the 'New generation', in fact, it's the same old story it has been in the last 3 outings - first it was a lamp, then it was a clock and now it's a mirror. The whole point of the horror/demon/spirit or whatever it's supposed to be, is that it is trapped in the ho... read moreuse with the funny windows because it's built on a grave/burial ground/well that descends to hell. Why does it keep escaping in inanimate pieces of furniture? Honestly though, escaping down the toilet would be an improvement compared to this!

At the rate these movies are ploughing through the artifacts from the Amityville house it won't be long before we get down to the floorboards, but for now it's a mirror that's causing problems for more cardboard characters in this sixth entry in the series. A homeless man hands i... read moret over to artist hairdo Ross Partridge, who then has strange visions and discovers some unpleasant revelations about his past. This mundane horror trundles along at a dull pace, leaving us waiting for a build up that never comes as the various 'spooky' goings-on lead to a dumb finale. Bland and lifeless, with ropey acting and Partridge's huge hair not helping matters.

This has a slightly better story than the other Amityville films but it's ruined by being so slow and terrible editing. The acting is above average for this kind of thing but the characters themselves are people you won't actually care about all that much apart from David Naughto... read moren from "An American Werewolf in London". It's all looking very dated now too and the overall effect is one of blandness rather than scariness.

This sixth Amityville film continues the pattern of the previous two by having the evil move to a new location via a piece of furniture from the original house. This time it is a creepy mirror that is brought into a an old building that features studio spaces occupied by "artis... read morets." The film never achieves anything "new" as its title might suggest. Instead, it is just another tired--if still reasonably enjoyable--entry in the series. If you don't mind bad horror films, then it provides an evening's entertainment. Otherwise, I would definitely avoid it.

Worst movie from the series. If you look very carefully you'll see the Green Goblin in one of those paintings.
