More of the same with one difference: they are college men now - like it matters. It follows the same formula but the gags are more stupid than funny, looking like a cheap rehash and with very little to make us laugh like the first movie.

I felt that the sequel to American Pie is a sequel that failed to capture the elements that made the first one good. Sure, some of its here, but the ideas expressed on-screen felt recycled and uninspired. I did laugh a few times, and yes, the film does entertain, but as a whole i... read more

This sequel to the big hit teen comedy sees the old gang reunite for a summer of fun after their first year of college in hopes of trying to further strengthen their bonds while also trying to get as much action as they can.
This one is fun, and it ups the ante where the gross ... read more -
October 2, 2011fb729949618It's not AS funny as the first, but it still retains its composure. The two girls kissing definitely helped the movie out alot, haha.

What do you say about the sequel to a really corny and cliched coming of age comedy? This is more of the same stuff, just slightly better looking. I'm glad they got out of the high school stage, but this is not a better movie by any stretch. It's almost like they staged a really ... read more

It's a cheesy mixture of porn and corn.
Rogers's feeble attempt to ape the Farrellys' gross/sad/funny dialectic falls flat. Full Review
Less a movie than another efficient moneymaking machine for Universal Pictures, American Pie 2 is a remarkably boring comedy. Full Review
Sure it's a sequel, but Pie 2 reprises most of the spirit of the first movie.
What a portrait of young American manhood as a collective of hormone-addled schnooks -- effete, incapable, soft and doomed, a group of chuckleheads who couldn't find the sky without a sign that pointe...
Still seems fresh, despite using the same ingredients of the first one. Full Review
With its mix of lewd jokes, sentimentalized characters and fake emotion, American Pie 2 has less in common with its predecessor and everything in common with every other bad comedy ever made about ran... Full Review
Jim and the gang feel like strangers, and their attempts to create an instant-party atmosphere and pull us into it, demanding we have fun with them, are a little creepy, even a tad sociopathic. Full Review
It is enough to make one lament for misspent youth, for the teenagers who will buy tickets to PG-13 rated fare only to sneak into this rehash.
