Two mismatched wolves embark on a cross-country quest to get back home and restore peace in their pack after being relocated thousands of miles away by well-meaning park rangers. Quick-witted Humphrey... read more read more... (voice of Justin Long) likes to frolic with friends and play video games with squirrels; disciplined Kate (voice of Hayden Panettiere) likes to call the shots and hunt caribou. Normally, an omega wolf like Humphrey would never stand a chance with an alpha wolf like Kate, but when they're both transported halfway across the country they must work together to get back to their natural habitat. And it won't be easy either, because the one thing Humphrey and Kate can agree on is that they don't have anything in common. Perhaps by working together toward a common goal, however, the two contentious traveling companions will finally realize that even lone wolves can use a helping paw every once in a while. Christina Ricci, Danny Glover, Dennis Hopper, and Larry Miller also supply voices for the Crest Animation production, helmed by Anthony Bell and Ben Gluck from a script by Chris Denk. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

I could see this having a bad rating, animated film seem to go down the pan, well this one did.

Justin Long is an ok voice actor, he did better in this then he did in Planet 51, which I personally disliked. The reason i'm giving Alpha and Omega an extremely positive review is quite simply because of the film's humour, it's un-boring interpretation on animated romance and it... read mores way of focusing on more than one central character. There is no main characetr in Alpha and Omega everyone is important to the film and I truly love the colours of this film. Alpha and Omega is a well made animated family film and is also a personal memorable favorite of mine.

Jesus Christ. There's shit, there's even more shit, and then there's Alpha and Omega. I'm fairly certain this entire movie (with the exception of the intensely mediocre voice casting/acting) was made through a computer program from the paint by numbers story (even for a kids movi... read moree) down to the sub-par animation. What really bugged me was how the wolves vocally harmonized instead of actually howled. The last time someone picked a movie this bad to watch in my company I sent them home sniffling manically with tears in their eyes. Since my 3 1/2 year-old daughter picked this I didn't really have that option but we did sit down and had a lengthy discussion about what will happen the next time she makes me sit through a turd this gruesome. The worst part was it was dedicated to Dennis Hopper which makes me want to break down more than when I found out he passed away.

Alpha and Omega was just bad. It starts off by throwing everything at you, in an attempt to remind you that this is 3D. In 2D it's just confusing as to why wolves are engaging in such action filled frivolities. The animation isn't terrible, but still doesn't leap to life. The plo... read moret was very dull, with a series of uninteresting events unfolding. The film also flirts, weirdly, with sexual innuendos and strong messages. A guy wolf and a girl wolf "HOWL" together. WInk, wink. He isn't very good, and she realizes she should have waited to "HOWL" with her true love. The main plot is two wolves needing to repopulate a park. A bit odd for kids, but still, it's the obvious lack of caring from the filmmakers that kills this. No story, no great moments, no laughs, and a voice cast that are all in it for the money.

I mean its no "Cars" or "Antz" or "Toy Story" or even a "Hoodwinked" But it didnt need too, it had some jokes i laughed, though the plot is the usual trying to get home plot, and has been used plenty of times but this is one of the times I enjoyed the attempt of doing it.

Justin Long, Hayden Panettiere, and the rest of the god-awful voice cast make this film ever worse than it already is. The story of two different wolf packs (alpha and omega) are about to be at war with each other, until two alphas marry each other. But of course, one alpha (the ... read moreone who is to get married) gets attacked by humans and broguth off with an omega to another place in the world. They eventually fall for each other which causes a huge war. It is one of the worst stories I have ever come across, and unfortunately one of the worst animated films I've ever seen. The animation seems slapped together by first year college 3D animators, and the fact that this actually made it to theatres is very sad. From animation that would have been state of the art in 1990, to poor dialogue and disposable plot, Alpha and Omega is one of the worst films of 2010.

It's nothing brilliant, but it is a fun and entertaining family movie. It's really cute, and I enjoyed it a lot.

Better than I thought but not as good as it should have been.

Boring, it made me sleepy... that's never good. Story is dull and animation really isn't the best there is. Only kids should watch this movie.

In Jasper National Park, the wolves, Kate and Humphrey, have known each other since puppyhood, but they are on the oppose ends of the We... read morestern Pack's social structure with Kate as the energetic Alpha daughter of the pack leader and Humphrey being the good humoured Omega. That social structure forces Kate to accept an arranged marriage with Garth of the Eastern Pack to unite the packs for peace, regardless of Humphrey's hopeless attraction for her. Before that union can occur, Kate and Humphrey are captured by the park's rangers and sent to an Idaho park as part of a wolf repopulation project. Mindful of her duties, Kate is determined to return to Jasper and Humphrey offers to help with the assistance of two odd geese. However, as this disparate pair struggle through the dangers to get home, a growing mutual appreciation of their talents and then a deeper love threatens to disastrously complicate everything if they make it back.

Possibly the worst kids animated film I've seen for along long time, the look of this film is extremely basic and I'm not sure if that's on purpose or not.....surely it can't be!! it all looks so poor and much like a Saturday morning cartoon with shoddy animation, bad lip sync (o... read morer none), rubbish cliched characters and a hugely unoriginal plot. Voice casting involves one or two big names but I doubt they realised what a bottom of the barrel film this would be as we all know animated films these days are hot stuff....apart from this, shame for Dennis Hopper as I think this was his last project.

The whole film stinks badly from start to finish with some terribly bad sequences that are just shamefully poor and embarrassing even for younger viewers haha they must know a good animated film when they see it these days.

An animated flick that doesn't leave much of an impression. It's even difficult to recall what happened once it's over because it's so slight and sluggish. Full Review

Alpha and Omega, an unambitious 3-D animation about a couple of young wolves in love, isn't so much howlingly bad as it is howlingly boring. Full Review

The story comes off as patchwork, with a climax cribbed from The Lion King and odd musical sequences that seem inspired by …ahem, classic Mariah Carey. It's not quite the vision of love intended. Full Review
