Packing up the car with wife Hannah (Ashley Boettcher), teenage son Tom (Carter Jenkins), and big sister Bethany in tow, Stuart invites the extended family to join them at the vacation home for some much-needed R&R and sets his sights on Maine. Much to Tom's dismay, Bethany's stuck-up boyfriend, Ricky (Hoffman), even manages to wrangle an overnight visit. Shortly after the Pearsons arrive at their sprawling summer home, however, things start to get strange. As dark clouds start to swirl overhead, four glowing objects blast through the sky on a collision course with the Pearsons' roof. But these aren't your typical meteors, because inside dwells tough-talking alien commander Skip, muscle-bound weapons specialist Tazer, lethal female Razor, and geeky four-armed techie Sparks. Before long, the aliens have taken Ricky over via a powerful mind-control device, and announced their intentions to claim Earth for the "Zirkonians." While the adults are completely oblivious to the extraterrestrial threat, the kids fight to save the planet with a little help from Sparks, the alien tech-specialist and one nonhostile invader. John Schultz directs a script penned by British scribe Mark Burton (Wallace & Gromit). ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

Art Pearson: This isn't Xbox, Lee. It's real! - Like Wii!

    "They came from upstairs."

Just a piss poor attempt at a family sci-fi film. Aliens in the Attic is beyond childish, it is to the point where kids will be making fun of how stupid it is. The whole movie is a bunch of t... read morealentless child to teenage actors running around fighting small, poorly imagined aliens, while the parents(who are to stupid to notice the aliens) go about their normal lives.

A family goes away for a summer vacation. While there, the kids discover that some midget aliens are arriving and looking for something buried under the house. The kids must stop them all by themselves because the aliens have technology that only works on adults. The film doesn't sound as bad as it is. In actuality, it is a pretty boring and lifeless movie when it comes to these types of stories.

Then there's all the horrible, cliche one liners and obvious plot choices that just make the movie repetitive and uninspired. Bad effects and bad acting just add to the misery of sitting through this godawful attempt at family fun. If you are looking for a film to watch with the entire family, look elsewhere because this will be pure torture for anyone over the age of 8.

    They came from upstairs.

Pretty sucky. This is for kids only, any adult would be abundantly bored. The movie really makes no sense, the animation is really cheap and the story absurd. I didn't laugh not even once! Recommended only for kids!

ALIENS IN THE ATTIC, co-scripted by o... read morene of the writers of "Madagascar" and the Academy Award (R)-winning "Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit," is an adventure/comedy about kids on a family vacation who must fight off an attack by knee-high alien invaders with world-destroying ambitions. At the same time, the youngsters work hard to keep their parents in the dark about the battle upstairs.

It's the Pearsons versus the aliens who "came from upstairs," in an all-out battle that will decide the fate of the Earth - and kick-off the ultimate summer vacation.

It all starts as a meteor shower rockets across the dark galaxy. Four glowing pods sparkle and crackle while hiding behind the meteor show. A mysterious force makes the meteor shower turn a hard right towards a bright blue ball in the distance - planet Earth.

In a comfortable suburban house in Michigan, Stuart Pearson (Kevin Nealon) and his wife Nina (Gillian Vigman) head a family that includes adorable seven-year-old Hannah (Ashley Boettcher); 15-year-old Tom (Carter Jenkins), a techno-geek whose grades have gone south; and big sister Bethany (Ashley Tisdale), who's just returned from a secret outing with boyfriend Ricky Dillman (Robert Hoffman).

Deciding the family needs some good old-fashioned togetherness, Stuart packs up the clan and heads to a three-story holiday house in the middle of nowhere. Joining them is Uncle Nate (Andy Richter), Nate's son Jake (Austin Butler), dear old Nana Rose (Doris Roberts), and identical 12-year-old twins Art (Henri Young) and Lee (Regan Young). An unexpected arrival is Bethany's beau Ricky, who wrangles an overnight visit with the extended family.

As day turns to night, dark storm clouds start swirling around the house. Suddenly, four glowing objects shoot toward the roof. The alien crew inside the objects is made up of Skip, the tough commander; Tazer, a muscle-bound dude armed to the teeth; Razor, a lethal female alien soldier; and Sparks a geeky four-armed techie, who is the only non-threatening alien intruder.

Ricky is placed under the spell of the aliens, courtesy of a high-tech mind-control device and plug implanted into the base of his skull; Ricky's mind and actions now belong to the alien crew. The alien "Zirkonians," via Ricky, lay claim to the planet. Like a puppet/robot/zombie, Ricky moves towards the boys - but Tom and Jake break free.

It isn't long before all five kids see the strange new arrivals. Tom takes charge; and the kids come to realize the alien mind-control device only works on grownups, giving them a fighting chance against the invaders - and the responsibility to protect the adults by keeping the aliens' existence a secret. Left to their own devices, the kids unleash their imaginations, creating makeshift weapons, like piping ingeniously rigged as a home-made potato spud gun. They even learn to use the mind controller. First order of business: taking control of Ricky - and turning his robot/zombie/ idiot actions against himself and the aliens.

The adults remain oblivious to the alien presence and figure the kids are being...kids...and insist that the youngsters partake in a fishing expedition. Meanwhile, a touching friendship is struck between Hannah and Sparks, the friendly alien with four arms and hands. Unlike his alien cohorts, Sparks has no stomach for battle; he just wants to return home to his Zirkonian family.

Nana Rose comes under the spell of the alien mind control device, which gives her super-human powers. She comes to the kids' rescue -and into a battle with Ricky, who is again under alien control. Nana Rose gives Ricky a huge jolt causing the alien plug to dislodge. Sparks joins the kids fight and uses his four arms, relentlessly creating devices that eventually help the kids fight on.

As the battle continues, the laughs, action and danger escalate. But the kids rise to the occasion, finding new strengths and self-sufficiency. And it becomes clear that the aliens never stood a chance....

Cheesy, Dumb, and fun. Aliens in the Attic is one of the funnest kids comedies in years. Two worlds collide and it feels real, besides the fact that the aliens look pretty basic. Taking aside the fact that there are average low budget effects, corny dialogue and at least decent a... read morecting, Aliens In The Attic is one big fun film. It puts a smile on your face and makes you laugh quite a bit. There are really no real flaws in the film, but just it's basic premise of aliens comign to earth looking for something brings it down a bit. Overall, I thought this movie was very fun and in a different way, sort of stupidly original!

Well, it is true that this movie had a bunch of cast with a terrible act and a ridiculous story about aliens, but guess what?? I enjoy watching this movie...!! Goes with a very simple story about mini-aliens whose want to have an invasion on earth, but unfortunately their mission... read more is failed because of a bunch of kids... I wonder how Ashley Tisdale wants to play in a movie like this, maybe she wants a new career besides her High School Musical trilogy.... And one good thing about this movie, Robert Hoffman is so funny... He's ridiculous and pretty talented, of course after I saw him before in 'Step Up 2 The Streets'... Anyway, this movie was a decent but at least it was entertained me...

Aliens in the Attic is a movie that entertains for maybe 30 minutes. After that time I think that it turns a little foolish, unreal and very childish. the movie tells the story of a very dysfunctional family that rent a house on the lake for their vacations, what they don't know ... read moreis that the house is already habited by a group of aliens looking for a device to invade and conquer the Earth. The aliens can control the mind of adult people but not of teenagers and children, so it is the children of the family to protect their house, their family and the whole world. The story is very predictable, from the very beginning you can tell what is going to happen. The cast is good, the performances notthat much. I love the role of Doris Roberts as the Grandma, she is very funny, Kevin Nealon is also very food as the dad. I think that it is already time for Ashley Tisdale to leave behind the roles of the spoiled high school teenager and the kids were good enough specially the little girl Ashley Boettcher. In conclusion, Aliens in the Attic is an entertaining and enjoyable movie specially for kids, then if you don't have kids or you're not one avoid it or wait for it until its on dvd.
