It is good to homage people like Roman Polanski or Hideo Nakata, but not been able to come up with something fresh and avoid the topics or clichés of their cinema is something unforgivable.

Simplicity can go a long way in horror movies. It also helps though if your protagonist is painfully neurotic. Throw in creepy neighbors, a creepier drifter/housemate, bleaker than bleak cinematography, and a ghost story, and you've got quite a spooky movie.
This movie is very similar to J-Horror flicks with the common cliché scares but Colombian. The acting is good and somehow the ending is a little different, but the best of the movie dark atmosphere.
