Vin Diesel gives a stunning and kinetic perfromance. It proves that he's more than a stellar action star. Larenz Tate is teriffic. A poweful and hard hitting urban crime drama. It fuells it's riveting story with explosive action and suspense. A stylish, exciting, thrilling and ra... read more

A an action-revenge flick thats boring as hell. There is no drive, no believeable reasoning behind our protagonists actions. By the end of it all you just wonder why.

The film would be totally unwatchable without the very real charisma of Diesel. Full Review
Once thoughts of revenge fill the head of Diesel's Sean Vetter, the direction of the story unfortunately goes south. Full Review
[I]t's well made, but we've seen all of this, so many times before. Full Review
It's all fast and furious up to its draggy finale, and yes, it could spark a sequel. Prepare yourself for coming dread in 18 months: A Man Together. Full Review
Although more fun than the preachy Training Day, A Man Apart never quite reaches the seedy depths of Narc. Full Review
It's hard to approach a movie like this expecting Citizen Kane ... But I did expect a good Vin Diesel movie, a showcase for this magnetic actor's personality. That's where A Man Apart falls short. Full Review
With more movies like A Man Apart, it'll be kaput to Diesel's acting future.
Diesel doesn't have the chops, or the charisma, to overcome the pic's formula conceits.
Try remaking the classic drugs-and-cops thriller 'The French Connection' without the style, without the electric chase scenes or the witty cat-and-mouse game. Without the French. Without Gene Hackman....
