Kinda good but Jack Bauer didn't really do much like in the series, I wish he would have been in more action but what can you do... anyways it's just two hours of real time.

Set 18 months where Season 6 of '24' left off, former government agent Jack Bauer is in a self-imposed ... read moreexile in the fictitious African country of Sangala where he hopes to escape from a U.S. investigation of him for his past methods, and to run from his past. Bauer works at a mission school for orphaned children run by his friend Carl Benton. The country is at the mercy of a rogue warlord general named Juma who is plotting a coup to overthrow the government and his right-hand man Colonel Dubaku, is abducting orphan boys and forcibly recruiting them into Juma's army. Bauer and Benton must work together to save the dozen or so boys and try to get them out of the country before Juma takes over. Meanwhile in Washington D.C., it is Inauguration Day where the outgoing President Noah Daniels is handing over the presidency to the first female president Allison Taylor (Cherry Jones). Hearing about the coup, Daniels wants to evacuate the country before it falls to the rogue general, while Taylor thinks otherwise. Elsewhere, Taylor's son Roger and his fiancée Samantha get wind of information from a friend about suspicious money transactions where he works at a local brokerage firm. But neither he or Roger are aware that a corrupt corporate mogul, Jonas Hodges, is plotting with General Juma to overthrow the government for monetary purposes and will do anything to keep his nefarious plans under wraps.

Ok but not a patch on the series.

Filling the gap between the seasons 6 and 7 this TV special combines most of the show's assets: Kiefer Sutherland BEING Jack Bauer, political intrigues, action in real time, annoyingly stupid minor characters, themes from actual world problems (in this case boy soldiers in Africa... read more) and so forth. That's entertaining, but not entirely as nail-biting-exciting as the seasons usually are. Fans should still be pleased, if only as set up for season 7.

24 is a great TV show!

This "film" doesn't really exist as a stand-alone movie. It only serves to bridge the gap between Seasons 6 and 7. It was highly entertaining and full of action, like most 24 episodes. And it set the stage well for Season 7.

Not too much to say about i... read moret really. Just don't watch this thinking it's a spin-off movie because unless you watch the show, you'll have no idea what's going on.

    PS... Jack is bad ass!

    "Save the day"

Film based on the real-time television series "24" (2001), which chronicles a day in the life of Federal Agent Jack Bauer.

    REVIEW

Last year, 24 came back with this 2-hour sp... read moreecial 'bridge' between day 6 and 7, which sees ex CTU Agent Jack Bauer in a war torn African nation hiding from the crimes he committed whilst saving the United States in the previous seasons of 24. The past is catching up with Jack after the US discover his location and subpoena him to the US court. However, strife and trouble are never to far away as the country in which Jack is hiding is facing a military coup, and he gets involved in helping the school children of an old friend to safety, played by a pleasant appearance of Robert Carlyle. Jack must rely on his unique skills once again as things quickly turn bad, and the viewer once again treated to the intense flurry of suspense, corruption and pure action that can only be 24. I won't go into anymore plot details, as not to spoil the film for anymore else, but be prepared for a fantastic 90min of fun that sets up the 7th season of 24.

Magnificent action-drama based on the TV series into a TV movie after the Season 6. I'm glad to see Kiefer Sutherland returns as agent Jack Bauer at finally for a very long-awaited (say two years) as, due to the much-publicised Hollywood writer's strike. Absolutely adventure of B... read moreauer who must stop a ruthless warlord from drafting innocent children into his murderous militia where it was filmed in Africa and familiar between Blood Diamond and Tears of the Sun.
There's never a dull moment in 24, and this taster of what's to come can have me even more excited than ever about the upcoming new series - Season 7. Go Jack!

Has a few exciting Bauer moments but the script and the acting are sub-par. Usually badass maneuvers suffice for over-bad acting from the supporting cast in 24 shows, there just was not enough of action here. The plot was boring and redundant, hopefully the new season will brin... read moreg surprise and revamp this shiz but prob. won't happen.

Jack is so definately back and brining the best in this cool television action flick. A very effective and well told story in the traditional real-time frame. As a die-hard fan of the series, I thought this was a really nice appetizer in wait for season seven to commence. The writers have really stepped up their game here, and brought us a plot that's not only very action-packed and exciting, but also incredibly gripping. And judging f... read morerom the trailer for the upcoming season, it looks like it's all gonna continue on the same quality level, which is great news for us fans. Let's just hope there won't be another writers strike, because I think we've waited long enough now for Jack Bauer's return to our TV screens.

Don't want to give to much away because I've always found that the less you know about 24 the better you will like it when you finally watch it but for the fans and non fans that don't know, 24: Redemption is a tv movie that bridges the gap between the sixth and seventh seasons o... read moref the series. It takes place approximately three years after Season 6. Set in the fictional African nation Sangala, Jack Bauer finds himself caught up in a military coup while trying to find a place where he can 'be at peace'. Meanwhile, in the United States, it is Inauguration Day, where President-elect Allison Taylor is being sworn in to office. The movie takes place in real-time, covering two hours, 3:00 to 5:00 PM, local time.

This a great movie for fans of the series. Sutherland as always disappers into the role of Jack Bauer. I really hope this leads to more 24 movies in the future on either the small or big screen.
