Mulholland Drive 2001,  R)
Mulholland Drive
A good film but would have been even better with a bit more understanding. It just all changes in a moment and never really reveals what is reality and what was a dream. Totally weird.
2
Dead End 2003,  R)
Dead End
This is a strange film, very creepy and has a twist that you either saw coming or will hit you for six!
3
Long Weekend 1978,  Unrated)
Long Weekend
A weird and bizarre film as a couples weekend goes from bad to worse. Well worth a look. Actually made in 1978 from what I remember. It's very different and creepy!
4
Big Trouble in Little China 1986,  PG-13)
Big Trouble in Little China
A weird and funny film. Mixing action, martial arts and lots of humour in this great adventure film. Classic 80's fun.
5
Kung Fu Hustle 2004,  R)
Kung Fu Hustle
The most bizarre film I have seen in ages! A sort of martial arts-musical! Has some great fights and very funny. A must see to be believed film.
6
Silent Hill 2006,  R)
Silent Hill
One of the best game to film adaptations. Very odd, strange and creepy but altogether a good horror film that may surprise you.
7
1408 2007,  PG-13)
1408
A brilliant little horror film , but I expect no less when it is based on a Stephen King story. A real unique horror film that will mess with your head. Go see it!!

Stephen King's It 1990,  Unrated)
Stephen King's It
If you know someone who is scared of clowns this is probably why! Great story if way too long at around 3 hours!
9
Dreamcatcher 2003,  R)
Dreamcatcher
A typical Stephen King film, very odd at times. Wouldn't class it quite as a horror has certain elements of Stand by me and the Tommy Knockers in it. Overall pretty good.
10
The Cell 2000,  R)
The Cell
Finally watched this at long last hearing it was a good film for a while now. It's very unique and very stylish. It starts off similar to The silence of the lambs, with a serial killer on the loose who is getting bolder which each new victim. They track him down but he has a seizure and with the latest victim still missing they need to find her quick! Using a sort of virtual reality programme J.Lo must enter his mind to find the answers.
A very good film, if quite weird during the dream scenes but these also look excellent, very surreal and elaborate. You will enjoy this if you like serial killer films, horrors and the just plain weird!
11
Shoot 'Em Up 2007,  R)
Shoot 'Em Up
A great all out action film. Totally over the top action and violence in this rather slick, stylish film. It's a mix of Sin City, Kill Bill, Smokin' Aces and a hint of Pulp Fiction to. So if you like any of those, you'll get a blast from this and know what to expect!
12
Sin City 2005,  R)
Sin City
Very slick stylish film, great visuals. Kind of Pulp fiction meets comic book.
13
The Fifth Element 1997,  PG-13)
The Fifth Element
A cracking action film set in the future. Starring the lovely Milla Jovovich.
14
Weird Science 1985,  PG-13)
Weird Science
One of those cool 80's films that was something totally different. Two teenage boys manage to programme the perfect woman into their computer, little did they expect for her to become real. So funny, very cool film. If you like Ferris Bueller's day off check this out.
15
Barbarella 1968,  PG)
Barbarella
Jane Fonda appears in this cult classic ahead of it's time, also quite rauchey for when it was made. A pure swinging 60's film.
16
Mars Attacks! 1996,  PG-13)
Mars Attacks!
A great comedy spoofing all those old B movie alien invasion films. A very impressive cast and cameos galore in this over the top comedy.
17
eXistenZ 1999,  R)
eXistenZ
A strange film and a must for gamers. Set in the future where virtual reality games rule, this follows the latest game to be unveiled which leaves it hard to tell the difference between the game and reality. A great idea, but would benefit from repeat viewings to fully grasp what is going on!
18
Earth Girls Are Easy 1989,  PG)
Earth Girls Are Easy
A odd film with some very funny scenes, with a perfect cast for this type of mayhem.
19
Day Watch (Dnevnoi Dozor) 2006,  R)
Day Watch (Dnevnoi Dozor)
Has its good moments but it is a bit drawn out really. A missed opportunity really. It won't make any sense if you haven't seen the first as well!
20
Night Watch (Nochnoi Dozor) 2004,  R)
Night Watch (Nochnoi Dozor)
A very good Russian film, the first in a triology about the battle between good and evil. Has some great SFX, if you like vampire films etc you should like this. A little weird at times but a very stylised film.
21
Reeker 2005,  Unrated)
Reeker
An ok low budget horror. Seen much better and much worse. The twist is a bit similar to a few movies lately, I won't name them as it will give it away.....hopefully we won't see it used over and over!
22
After Hours 1985,  R)
After Hours
A rare cult film, very dark humour but a great film. Track it down and watch it!
23
Ultraviolet 2006,  PG-13)
Ultraviolet
I was hoping for a lot more. If anything this has a bit too much cgi, although it helps with a comic book feel to it. Some scenes will make you think you're watching a computer game. It's a mix of Aeon Flux, Blade and Kill Bill but without the blood or gore of the last two. Could have been better.
24
The Night Listener 2006,  R)
The Night Listener
Not very good at all. Very slow film with very little happening in it all based around one plot idea. Based on true events, however at 76 mins long there just isn't enough to interest you.
25
Freejack 1992,  R)
Freejack
A weird but cool sci-fi action film, with a cool if strange cast. Worth checking out.
26
Bringing Out the Dead 1999,  R)
Bringing Out the Dead
A strange film about an ambulance crew in New York and the characters it comes across.
27
Total Recall 1990,  R)
Total Recall
A strange action film, quite violent.
28
House (Ding Dong, You're Dead) 1986,  R)
House (Ding Dong, You're Dead)
A very strange horror film quite funny at times but with some cool creatures!
29
The Neverending Story 1984,  PG)
The Neverending Story
A great family adventure film with an array of great characters and creatures.
30
Labyrinth 1986,  PG)
Labyrinth
A cult classic film from my childhood. It has a wide variety of weird and wonderful characters, most created by the master of puppets Jim Henson. Has a cool soundtrack and a great story with plenty of laughs for all ages. If you like the Never Ending Story, The Dark Crystal you have to see this!
31
Identity 2003,  R)
Identity
A very strange horror with a real twist of an ending!!
32
Southland Tales 2006,  R)
Southland Tales
A strange film set in the future with a confusing plot with deals with alternative energy, politics, world war 3 and the 4th dimension!! A bit long it has some good moments but a few lows as well. Overall just a bit odd.
33
Funny Games 2007,  R)
Funny Games
A strange film with not very much plot or explanation as to what is going on, although some might like this more because of that. It's a very gritty, raw, rather bleak film as a couple of psycho's decide to play games with a family in the holiday home. Just need to watch a comedy after to lift your mood!
34
Donnie Darko 2001,  R)
Donnie Darko
Finally got round to seeing this at last after hearing about it for ages. A very good film which isn't quite as weird and hard to follow as I thought it would be after hearing all the reviews of it. Hard to describe though, a film about choices and making changes and what happens as a result. Deals with complex ideas but the end does help clear things up. Considering the year it was made a very well assembled cast.
35
Oldboy 2004,  R)
Oldboy
A good Korean film, if quite odd at times. However it is a great tale of revenge with some surprising twists. Well worth checking out.
36
Solaris 2002,  PG-13)
Solaris
A slightly strange film, something like a sci-fi, thriller but with a romantic feel to it? It's well shot, the cinematography is good and the cast is quite strong. The films raises a lot of questions without providing many answers. Some will like it for this others won't. One for sci-fi fans, or those open to debate about life, time, religion etc. I'm sure the girls will like it for George Clooney's scenes as well!
37
Long Weekend (Nature's Grave) 2008,  R)
Long Weekend (Nature's Grave)
30 years on and we have a remake of the little known, but very weird film Long Weekend (1978). I saw the original when I was very young and at the end you just think WTF?! This is almost by the numbers remake, so I knew what was gong to happen, which effected my overall opinion. I remember the first being a lot more tense, scary and jumpy. This just didn't have the same impact. Check out the 78 version of you want some real creepy thrills!
38
Dark City 1998,  R)
Dark City
A strange, weird Sci-Fi/horror. Not helped by a confusing plot that takes a while to unravel. Featuring a well known cast including the brilliant Ian Richardson who should be in more films and an early small role for Melissa George. It's ambitious and with the right budget could have been amazing. I kinda felt it was trying too hard to be a film ahead of its time. It's not until about half way through things start to make sense, until then the highlight was Melissa George stripping off. Could have been a classic but falls a bit short for me.

The Box 2009,  PG-13)
The Box
A good thriller, not quite what I was expecting. It's a strange film in many ways that leaves you wondering at times, even towards the end what is going on and why. Thankfully most of it is explained but there was just a bit of doubt in my mind about what was really happening. Still a good film that will keep you guessing along the way.
40
The Lair of the White Worm 1988,  R)
The Lair of the White Worm
A very good, odd British horror comedy!
41
The Jacket 2005,  R)
The Jacket
A strange film with a great cast. A sort of mix of 12 Monkeys and the Butterfly effect, but sadly no where near as good as either of those films. The pacing seems slow, the story leaves a lot unexplained and at times it's just a bit dull. A real shame given the concept and cast, this had potential.
42
Black Swan 2010,  R)
Black Swan
From all the hype and bits I heard about the film I wasn't sure it would be one I would like that much. Finally gave it ago and I did really enjoy it. Nothing like what I expected really. Although about a ballerina in Swan Lake there are many deep layers to the meaning of the film. Quite dark, disturbing at times and raunchy as well, many will be surprised at what they see. A great performance from Natalie Portman as the perfection driven dancer who has problems coping with what is expected of her. A great psychological thriller with some surreal scenes. If you thought you'd skip it, think again!
43
Attack the Block 2011,  R)
Attack the Block
A great little low budget, English comedy horror! This has a good B movie feel to it, featuring a young, largely unknown cast it has a good balance of laughs at the sillyness of it all, followed by moments of danger. I also like these type of films when they are grounded in a real setting, this being an every day council estate in South London. Also unexpected for this type of film is how well shot it is, good use of light and cinematography is plain to see in most scenes. The creature design while simple is pretty good. The only downer for me was some of the over use, of so much slang, but again there are teenagers who do talk like that! An enjoyable small budget film that will put a big smile on your face!
44
Dogtooth (Kynodontas) 2009,  R)
Dogtooth (Kynodontas)
Hmmm really didn't get the hype about this film. It's just plain odd and weird without being that entertaining. A very over protective father keeps his 3 teenage children within the compound of the family home, knowing nothing of the outside world. They have become brainwashed by their parents into an odd existence. A few odd scenes and taboo sex scenes as well make it strange viewing at times. It gets a bit interesting towards the end, but it's a long slow watch to get there.
45
I Come With The Rain 2009,  Unrated)
I Come With The Rain
A truly odd, weird film. I was hoping for a decent thriller, maybe a bit of action. Instead it's a low budget indie film that has many layers but none of them that interesting... I'm sure there is supposed to be some "message" as such in the film, but the poor story, editing and strangeness of it all will have you wishing the credits come sooner rather than later.
46
Heavenly Creatures 1994,  R)
Heavenly Creatures
Hmmm well it seems I'm in the minority but to call this a masterpiece is way of the mark for me. I'm not a fan of most drama's. When they are good they can be brilliant and among my favourite films. This was just a bit too surreal and odd. Based on a true crime in New Zealand in the 50's. It gets very strange later on as the relationship and madness intensifies! If you like wacky films or odd dramas you might love it, but it's not for me.
