Extremely creepy,uneasy and very odd mid 70s true crime horror drama. Very graphic in certain parts for 1974 but then again this was a german production so they could get away with more. This would fit nicely on a disturbing movie list because of certain scenes with very young looking boys who get murdered through out the film. This whole movie isn't terrible but is alittle slow in certain parts, but just the whole vibe of this film makes you just feel dirty when you see it for the first time. |

Not overly boring but not overly entertaining or interesting either. This would have been better if it weren't a Tv movie, because all the dramatic moments were cut off for commercials.Most of the characters seemed kinda half baked and under developed except for the nasty pedophile. They showed more of his personality than anyone else in the whole movie during the first half. I do think that Corin Nemec did a great job during the second half of the movie playing the older steven. His struggle with trying to get used to his family again and his constant bulling at school really show off his acting chops. All in all this is a good time waster for a couple hours when you have nothing else to watch and want to see a lifetime movie from the 80s but that's about it. This movie sorta focuses on blaming the parents for the Steven's abduction and almost makes the sickening nerdy pedophile as almost a savior that takes care of him and don't go into showing how much of an absolute monster he is. They also play down the actual rape and molestation of the victim and show him act as if he has no bad feelings towards the man who abused him for close to 7 years. Looking back on this, it seems way too Tv movie stupid to be taken seriously. |

Probably the greatest movie I can think of mostly about the real life cocaine industry in the mid to late 70s and early to mid 80s. This is based on the real life story of former pot dealer turned coke emperor George Young. Very sad all together when you it gets right down to it. |

Overly long and extremely hard to watch at times because of the subject matter but more so because of the annoying acting . It felt at times like there was only about an hour of actual content here...that was stretched out just to make its running time. Brad Renfro was decent in this but Nick Stahl was not believable at all as the rotten asshole character. The two female leads got on my nerves and overacted to comical effect in most "serious" scenes. All in all this is worth a one time watch at best, just to say you've seen it. This also makes a good movie to people about it when you want to recommend a messed up movie to a newbie. |

Overly boring in alot of scenes but entertaining as a true crime film. There's not alot of scenes of porn or sexual sleeze, there is however multiple scenes of drug use throughout. I wished that there wasn't so much talking and scene chewing from Val Kilmer and Lisa Kudrow but the ending made up for the long overdrawn boring parts. This isn't something I'm going to rush to see again but it was good for a one time watch with a friend on a boring afternoon when you want to kill some time. |
