Raging Bull 1980, R)
To see a man suffer like Jake Lamotta in Raging Bull is a very hard thing to do. It's just like any other Scorsese film. He pulls you in and gets you connected with the characters. This is Scorsese and Deniro at their best. O've seen Goodfellas and i've seen Taxi Driver which are two great Scorsese-Deniro films but Raging Bull really stood out to me. Is it because I love watching boxing movies? No it is not because this movie isn't about boxing. It sure isn't a Rocky or a Cinderella Man. It tells the story or the life of a man like Jake Lamotta. Scorsese really captures the pain and suffering this poor guy had to go through. Yeah, sure, he was a violent guy, he beat his brother, he beat his wife but during the whole movie you ask "Why?". If you don't know the answer to that question after the movie, watch it over and over until you get it because if you don't know the answer and you don't get why he's so violent, then you're missing the moral of the film. It's a great movie and i'm proud to say that it is my favorite film. Great Job Martin Scorsese, Robert Deniro and Joe Pesci, you really made a memorable masterpiece here! |

Wow, what a film. This was honestly Kevin Spacey's best performance of his career. There is nothing bad to say about this film. It has become one of my favorite films and really shows how humans, whatever race, gender, age has a breaking point once you push them too far. This film was beautifully directed and beautifull shot. This movie is like a work of art. Every little scene is a little portion of a big painting and when you get to the shocking ending, you still want more, you're not satisfied with what is already painted on the artwork. This is surely Sam Mendes best film and should and probably is considered his personal masterpiece. When you're watching this movie with friends, family or anybody, just remember.....look closer. |

Babe 1995, G)
What was I thinking before this movie? "98% with critics but only 54% with user, i'll see how this turns out." What was I thinking after this movie? "What a masterpiece. It's a inspirational movies for kids and even adults. The script is very cheesy but that adds all the charm to it. If you look at the years from 2000-2010. who many good "talking animal" films have there been? almost none (although there was Toy Story 3 which had talking toys). This film teaches you life lessons that maybe some people have lost. I would say this film is one of the most inpsirational of all time but the thing that puts is aside from other inspirations like Forrest Gump is that it inspires us using talking animals. That is something that most of the youth today have not experienced yet. A good movie with talking animals. Is this the only movie of it's kind? No, but prior to 1995 and even after 1995 and all the way to 2012, nobody ever thought that a film like this, of a sheep pig, could inspire and light the hearts of so many people. From the scene in the first scene of when Babe was a baby to when he Babe becomes a champion sheep pig, all you can think to yourself is, "This is a special film. How can anyone dislike it?" |
