A Brilliant, Gracious, Fascinating and Haunting portrait of the Macedonian King who conquered 90% of the known world! A fantastic and near flawless script combined with Oliver Stone's expert direction and a great cast make this one a must-see classic all the way! Should have won Best Film Of The Year because, it was! A+

Natural Born Killers 1994,  R)
Natural Born Killers
One of the best 10 best films of the 1990's. Oliver Stone's powerful film shows us what a REAL filmmaker is capable of. Today we have overrated directors such as Christopher Nolan, James Cameron and Quentin Tarantino. Not that they aren't good filmmakers it's just that when you walk out of one of their films you have essentially gained nothing. Not so with films by Oliver Stone and Natural Born Killers is a prime example. He stirs up emotion and controversy like no other director except for say...Michael Moore, just on a completely different level. Natural Born Killers shows how the media catipultes killers onto super star status while keeping the victims forgettable. Natural Born Killers is what satire is all about. A cinematic masterpiece unlike anything you have ever seen. A+

Rocky Balboa
A wonderful ending to the epic & iconic franchise (we'll just pretend that ROCKY V doesn't exist). ROCKY BALBOA is a nostalgic trip down memory lane for ALL fans of the ROCKY films. My only real complaint would be the casting of Antonio Tarver who plays the franchise's final "villian" if you want to call his character (Mason "The Line" Dixon) that. I personally feel Rocky deserved much better than him. But, at least it wasn't Tommy "The Machine" Gunn, but remember ROCKY V doesn't exist!
All said and done, ROCKY BALBOA was one of the best films of 2006. There were at least a dozen or more scenes that were so full of nostalgia that it was difficult not to notice my eyes beginning to tear up and feeling a sad but fulfilledsmile growing on my face and the chills going through my body. Three cheers for Mr. Stallone who against all odds has somehow managed to capture lightning in a bottle and bookend the series with a finale that is equal to the original. A-

The Boondock Saints 1999,  R)
The Boondock Saints
Despite it's low buget and mostly B-Grade actors, The Boondock Saints is an awesome way to spend a couple of hours. Especially to forget about your daily stresses and check out a film such as Saints that really helps relieve stress. At least my stress. It is by no means a masterpiece. Unless you look at a materpiece film as being a two hour exercise in excessive & extreme bloody violence & foul language while mind & eye cumming about exacting the same type of vengance on the idiots that infest our society & everyday lives like the "Saints" to in this film. So, while it's no CITIZEN KANE or SCHINDLER'S LIST or JFK it's a damn funny, well written & directed & acted film with great and memorable characters & performances that has held up for the past 13 years and will probably always hold up. Kudos to Mr. Duffy! You have directed your first masterpiece and I hope you can give us more! A -
