set entirely in a wooden cooffin and some cleverly shot scenes showing coffin fom a little off, a film that does its job well, ryan reynolds is exellent as paul conroy waking up buried and panicky, in coffin, a phone handy and zippo lighter, he panics his way through while desperatly tries to alert various people to his situation, we learn hes been kidnapped in irak, a driver for a company, and ransom demanded or he will die, this film does well, what it tries to do, the location, the coffin is exellently used to the maximum, with great uses of cinematography and miminal lightening, the exchange in conversations also adds a lot, even bringing up doubt to his contacts, the people on hand to help, also some tension arises from some moments, the snake was a great part for me, even though it was over quickly, also the sand towards end, the film runs greatly to its downbeat ending, with some comments on way things are done over there, non militery related, coming across well, more extreme than phone booth, which i really liked as they had freedom, to go away from colion farrell, baried is longer and confined to coffin, so a great achievment all round, heres NOT hoping fr buried 2 back to the box
charming comedy set int the 80s,as a kid has to abandon histrip to europe and get a job at a amusment park, where he falls in love of course, some good observations of the 80s,and moments throughout, the two leads are well suited and awkward, steuert playing vunerable very well, and of course jon hedar bringing exellent comedy, as he always does
worth a second viewing this as things go all weird, reynolds plays 3 diferent guys in three stories, where all the same peopl turn up, offering all tytpes of advice and trying to get him to do the rtight thing, reynolds who i dont rate that much, handles it well, hes pretty good, although story sometimes confusing, which im guessing is the point, stick with t and youll get a fair idea by the end, and have a little think, the outcome is a odd one, but quite satisfying, a great soundtrack and funny moments keep you watching, watch it then watch it again
willem dafoe isa good watch asthe nasty father while ryan reynolds playing the grown up son is good also, coming together along with rest of family, when wife and mother respectivly dies
For the most part this is exiting and really enjoyable, 2 leads putting in great work and working well together, well made action sequences set in and around Cape town south Africa adding great viewing, the story is typical action pinpoints and not deep, it does loose it towards the end too much tropes coming in and it does go on for a bit to long and overstays its welcome a bit. but overall exiting stuff and its never dul or boreing.
Never a interest in green lantern, in fact id probely say untill this film was greenlioghted,, i hadnt heard of the charactor or comic, but that really isnt saying much, im no comic book geek/fan. The trailor came out and i was most definatly put off, as were many. id put off seeing it, that is untill last week when i saw the turd that was Transformers 3, and thought, id better give it a go, and while there are faults in this film, its by no means for me, a bad film, it was enjoyable enough, reynolds came off okay, but i hear wrong for lantern. and if taking story in film apart his ethics and direction doesent make sence. but i enjoyed myself, the effects were better than i thought, i dident 100% get his way of using powers, in ways of the green turning into modern devices through his thoughts. a interesting premise for plot but again showing faults, Peter saarsgard comes across well as a villain in this as does mark strong as a possible future villain. so also many good elements. it also does something Transformers 3 failed at. getting in and out, and moved along nicely. so no disaster by any means and i certainly dont mind seeing any further adventures
