To Review

It's what we all want, some time in the sun. If not for us, then at least for our loved ones. This is a simple father-son story which stays on point the whole way through. It touches on many points of under-class, immigrant life in southern America, thankfully without going into too much detail or sympathetic drama. It does share a lot of hardships of Hispanic immigrants, but at no point do we feel pressured into feeling any more sorry for them than we are.
Excellent film.

For what it is, it's ok.
Seeing as predictability isn't really a sin in modern Hollywood, this film comes out without many flaws.
If there's a sequel to come it is likely younger generations will know this as the birth of Freddy.
At least until the next reworking.

High art, or high ego pretense?
This is one reviewer too dense to appreciate such aesthetic creations.

First class movie offering!
These characters are not of a world most of us know, the films strength is in allowing us to identify with them. Where they live talk is cheap and a sign of weakness, character is judged on instinct. In this place, human concepts like helping and justice still exist without all the drama and blah blah blah we associate with them. We wouldn't last five minutes among these people, but we've been lucky to get to know them.

If there were a template on which superhero movies are based, this movie is the result you would get if you slapped "green lantern" in the "Title Here" box and filmed it unedited. It's surprising it doesn't come with great quotes like "Insert one-liner here"
Unless you want a cure for insomnia, this is not worth your time or money.
Stay away.

A 100 minute advert, dont waste your youth.
