This was really amazing and stunning and just wonderful, i loved it.
Everything is Illuminated 2005,  PG-13)
Everything is Illuminated
This movie was absolutely one of (if not) the most beautifully directed masterpieces I've ever seen. It was just unexplainably wonderful, funny, sad, beautiful, slow, yet it all came together wonderully, you definately should rent it. Especially fans of Big Fish.
Into the Wild 2007,  R)
Into the Wild
just amazing
The Ballad of Jack and Rose 2005,  R)
The Ballad of Jack and Rose
HOLY COW, this movie is so poetic, so beautiful, perfect, and amazing in every way.I loved the visual beauty in terms of the forest and the way things were filmed. I also really connected with the friendship between daughter and dad and the ending abolutely tore me apart. I really adored this movie except for the one part where Thaddius violated Rose. BTW Daniel Day Lewis was AMAZING, of course! And Camilla Belle was simply beautiful, they were perfect for those roles :)
Big Fish 2003,  PG-13)
Big Fish
Amazingly artistic. Yet very melancholy, but somehow I loved it in whole. It was a beautiful film and is one of those movies that at the end, when you are all teary and slightly saddened, you begin to think about your life and what you can do to live adventurously, freely, and to the fullest :)
Across the Universe 2007,  PG-13)
Across the Universe
The people who ruined the Beatle's music made me want to cry of how terrible it sounded. BUTCHERED! Also, I was really bored for most of the scenes because they dragged on. I don't recommend it to those who actually appreciate the Beatle's and who aren't interested in two hours of boredom with only like three entertaining parts. I was sadly dissapointed. SO STUPID. i think this puts the Beatles to shame. I mean seriousley, they name some of the characters Jude, Lucy, Prudence, and D.Eggman. Major cliche and it all just frustrates me. Such a dumb way to make dumb 13 year olds THINK they appreciate the Beatles and that they are all psychadelic flower children now even if they are just jumping on the bandwagon un aware/ not understanding the actual music and actual culture- which is a cash machine for the company. bah. The only thing that I will say good is that it is one of the most visually beautiful movies I have ever seen. Many beautiful ideas and concepts to make your mind think. So gorgeous beautiful direction, terrible everything else. That is all :)
Mamma Mia! 2008,  PG-13)

Little Miss Sunshine 2006,  R)
Little Miss Sunshine
The most cussing, but nothing more that I hear at school... It was morbidly hilarious and I adored the contrast between the bright cinematography and grim plot. I say it was a whitty movie, but please, Allan Arikin did not diserve the oscar.
Harold and Maude 1971,  PG)
Harold and Maude
Pan's Labyrinth 2006,  R)
Pan's Labyrinth
This movie was very well filmed, It was captivating and a 'visual treat' as I like to call it. Iwas not what I thought it was and I think the violence could have been toned down because it was seriousley stupid at times. I just wouldn't reccommend it to someone who is not very open minded because it is very creative. It came very close to like scarring me for life at one part, but I closed my eyes :] That's not to say this wasn't actually an amazing movie when all's said and done.
The Notebook 2004,  PG-13)
The Phantom of the Opera 2005,  PG-13)

Daniel Day-Lewis is one of the most amazing actors of our time, simply amazing in this movie. The cinematography was breath-taking and the sceneries were gorgeous. I really felt like I was there. Not to mention I really enjoyed the music and plot twists! The only negative thing I can say was that it was about an hour too long. Other than that it was wonderful! :)

The Illusionist 2006,  PG-13)
The Illusionist
This movie had a beautiful theme and cast. The music was captivating and the cinematography was captivating. Everything about this movie took you in and brought you to a completely diffrent place in history. I especially loved how unpredictable it was and how the ending didnt leave you hanging. Amazing to say the least. It was extremely creative and beautiful. I dont usually like Jessica Biel at all, but she dilivred a masterful performance in this movie!

The Brothers Grimm

The Ring 2002,  PG-13)
The Ring
I think the film was very well shot- the cinematography was amazing. I definately loved that. I had my eyes closed for a few parts, but overall I watched the 'scariest part' and didn't think much of it. I don't reccommend it for those who can't take a scary movie. But for those with an open mind, you will love this movie. It was actually very good but still really scary.
The Beach 2000,  R)
The Beach
This movie is insane, it is scary, funny, sad, and everything! I really enjoyed the suspense, and the ability to almost go to another place while you watch it. All I would say is, they sure smoke pot alot in this movie!

Le Couteau dans la plaie (Five Miles to Midnight)
Wonderful cinematography and great acting from the beautiful Sophia. And Anthony Perkins was wonderfully eerie just like in Psycho... but a little toned down. This is a hidden gem! :)
Twilight 2008,  PG-13)
OH MY GOODNESS, this is one of the most beautiful films i have ever seen!!!
The Virgin Suicides 2000,  R)
The Virgin Suicides
so beautiful and haunting.

the whole thing was a visual feast, leaving my heart almost bursting because of how beautiful and poetic this movie was. i was enchanted!

the only problem that i had with it was it lacked plot. there really was no plot, and i don't even understand why the ending was the way that it is... it was how i expected it to end, and i think it works. but what i mean, is that it lacked the plot strength that could have had me heart-wrenched and crying at the end... that's all. i felt the same after watching sofia's other movie 'marie antoinette' though, so i wasn't surprised by the way she directed this movie. beautiful, but weak.

(it's still a must-see though!)
Amélie 2001,  R)
oh amelie! what a beautiful and charming film this was! i can't get enough of the soundtrack, which i listen to continuousley :)

and the whole movie was so cute and charming and beautiful. i love this movie so much, it's perfect :)
The Science of Sleep 2006,  R)
