Murder on the Orient Express
Unlike the extremely disappointing versions of And Then There were None and The Alphabet Murders, this one does Agatha Christie justice. Albert Finney is brilliant as Poirot. I like this more than Death on the Nile(which I thought was very good) but even Finney can't hold a candle to David Suchet as Poirot. Excellent nonetheless.

One of my favorite movies ever, not just comedy. Great cast, Bill Murray and Rick Moranis are terrific. I watched it the other night and I still laughed when I was watching it. They should have stopped with this one, as Ghostbusters II doesn't even come close to matching this one.

Field of Dreams
This is an amazing movie. Everybody says what a tearjerking scene the father/son game of catch is and rightly so. However I enjoy James Earl Jones' monologue about baseball just before the game of catch. That sums up my feelings about baseball. This movie is just about the perfect baseball movie, just ahead of classics like Bull Durham and Pride of the Yankees.
105
Hoosiers 1986,  PG)
Hoosiers
This is one of my all time favorites. It has tremendous performances by Gene Hackman and Dennis Hopper. It may have the cliches you expect(the smallest guy on the team hitting the key free throws, etc) but the cast's performance outweighs the cliches. The speech toward the end of the movie("In my book we're gonna be winners!") is played at sporting events across the country and not just at basketball games. The film holds up and is extremely memorable.
106
Major League 1989,  R)
Major League
This is another movie I can watch over and over and still laugh. This is one of the most quotable sports movie, from the argument over whether Jesus can hit a curve, to "Juuuust a bit outside!" to "We peel a section!". Unfortunately they should have stopped with the first one. Part two was forgettable and I haven't even watched part three.

Interesting thing about the movie. 6 years after the release of this movie, the Indians put it all together and started winning, just coming up short in the World Series in 1995.

I really tried to enjoy this movie but I just can't. It's more smile funny or chuckle funny than laugh out loud funny for most of the movie. Cleavon Little is fine, as is Gene Wilder but I just don't think this matches up to Young Frankenstein for pure entertainment and big laughs.

Favorite part of the movie: Danny Glover's gang pulls the robbery. Mel Gibson pulls down his mask and says nah. Danny Glover looks at Mel Gibson, and shakes his head. Glover then gets to use "I'm too old for this shit!" again.

The only thing I liked about the movie is when Selma Hayek's ass is hanging out of her dress and Kevin Kline and Will Smith make their jokes. Otherwise you watch this and wonder why talented actors like Kevin Kline, Selma Hayek, Will Smith and especially Kenneth Brannah would do a piece of crap like this.

this was one of the worst movie I've ever seen. I didn't like any of the characters, the story was stupid. Extremely disappointed in all 3 actors.

Coneheads 1993,  PG)
Coneheads
I enjoyed this movie so much I had a baseball cap that said "CONSUME MASS QUANITIES!!". Chris Farley is good, Adam Sandler and Jon Lovitz in their all too brief cameos, and it stays true to the skit in several ways. Whether it's Dan Akroyd fixing Jason Alexanders' lawn mower with his mouth, the way the main characters talked, and the way the neighbors really were indifferent to the way the Coneheads were. I want to see this again sometime.

I'm a huge fan of this movie. I love the interaction between Bruce Willis and Damon Wayans. This movie makes me laugh everytime I watch it. Whether it's Milo calling them Joseph and James, the your wife is so fat jokes, Bruce Willis grilling Damon Wayans on his $750 pants without a TV in them, it's just brilliant.

This is a terrific movie. I still laugh when I watch it. Eddie Murphy is great, Arsenio Hall is watchable, but James Earl Jones is great as the king. He gets a Darth Vader line in as well. "Do not alert him to my presence. I shall deal with him myself."
465
Scrooged 1988,  PG-13)
Scrooged
One of Bill Murray's best. He is awesome as Frank Cross, aka Scrooge. Karen Allen is good as Clair. Carol Kane and Bobcat Goldwaithe are terrific. I always watch this every Christmas.

This is a very underrated movie. I really enjoyed this one. The movie that stinks with these two is Junior. That was unwatchable. But I love Arnold as the book nerd who's never experience life. Danny Devito is, as usual, his obnoxious self on the screen.

this is an underratd movie. Kim Basinger is ok, but the whole interaction between Bruce Willis and John Larroquette is what keeps the film going. The chases, the fights, it just works. The late Phil Hartman is awesome.
497
Superman IV: The Quest for Peace 1987,  PG)
Superman IV: The Quest for Peace
Gene Hackman can't save this horrible movie. He's not bad and neither is Christopher Reeve. It's the horrible special effects, ridiculous fight scenes(they fight in space with Mariel Hemmingway along for the ride, and she breathes just fine. Superman also has a "rebuilding the Great Wall of China" power) that sinks the movie. Jon Cryer is great as Lenny, the "dutch elm disease" of Luthor's family tree. But once Margot Kidder turns on the waterworks(again), and the kid whining I wish superman would have said yes and the awful special effects and fight scenes, the movie is really weighed down.

It's a shame too, because I've heard they were going to put more money into it with better effects and even a 2nd Nuclear Man but they decided not to. This could have been special.

I enjoyed this movie. They should have stopped right here though. The last two movies in the series were absolutely dreadful. But this was very cool. I loved the final fight between Chozen and Daniel. Very underrated in my opinion. Although it sometimes comes across like a documentary on Okinawa with the scenes with Daniel and Miyagi walking through Okinawa.
