The Lost Boys 1987,  R)
The Lost Boys
"My own brother, a Goddam Shitsucking Vampire,... well, you just wait ' til mom finds out about this ! "

My favorite vampire movie of all time! True 80s horror classic. A perfect blend of horror with the right amount of humor. The look, the feel, the rebelious teenage vampiristic vibe was perfect for that time. It set a cult classic standard in which movies like Buffy, The Craft, The Covenant, and Twilight have tried to match, but to no avail.

Fright Night 1985,  R)
Fright Night
One of my favorite vampire movies of all time. Cheesy vampire movies from the 80s are the absolute best and this one is no exception. They just don't make movies like this anymore. Good storyline, good acting, good humor and I loved the cast. Fright Night is a true 80s classic, an unsung gem in the horror genre.

Queen of the Damned 2002,  R)
Queen of the Damned
Great movie about a vampire named Lestat (Stuart Townsend) who awakens in modern times and becomes a rockstar of all things. He is then accepted by millions of fans but not by other vampires as he begins admitting through his lyrics that he is indeed a vampire and that others should come out of hiding and expose themselves as well. Needless to say this does not sit well with the others as all vampires are to keep themselves out of the public eye and live only as mythical creatures to the public. All this feuding and fighting stirs up the re-awakening of the Queen mother of all vampires Akasha (played by the late Aaliyah) who decides she wants Lestat to be her king and eventually kill as many people as they can, except Lestat isn't too crazy about the idea, but how do you turn down your Queen and live to tell about it?
One of my favorite vampire films of all time. It's dark, gothic, sexy and with a killer soundtrack from bands like, Disturbed, Static X and Jonathan Davis of Korn.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer 1992,  PG-13)

Salem's Lot 1979,  PG)
Salem's Lot
My 2nd favorite Stephen King adaptation after "IT". I remember watching this movie when I was 7 yrs old and I was scared but I liked it, and now I watch it with my boys and I still like it, probably more than before. Good acting from a good cast and a good storyline. I Love that classic 70s vampire feel to it, one of my favorite vampire movies of all time.

Let the Right One In 2008,  R)
Let the Right One In
One of the best vampire movies to come out in years. Not as scary, disturbing or creepy as I thought it would be, in fact I found it to be more dramatic than frightening yet beautifully sad. Alot of credit needs to be given to these two child actors for single handedly carrying this entire movie. Lina Leandersson was absolutely mezmerizing !

My Best Friend Is a Vampire 1988,  PG)
My Best Friend Is a Vampire
One of those forgotten teen movies of the 80s.

A teenage boy named Jeremy (Robert Sean Leonard) gets seduced and bitten by a sexy lady when he goes to deliver her groceries. It turns out that she was a vampire and now he is one too. Confused and in denial he is befriended by a vampire elder named Modok (Rene Auberjonois) who coaches him into adapting to his new lifestyle but the plot thickens as Jeremy also has to save his best friend Ralph who is kidnapped by two vampire hunters who think he's the vampire all while trying to convince his new girlfriend that he's a normal guy, except for the whole vampire thing.

I enjoyed this low budget ,campy horror/comedy. The storyline was decent, the acting wasn't that good but, I enjoyed it nonetheles. I think it's gotten a bit interesting with time because of 3 unknown actors in this film that are now noteworthy :Robert Sean Leonard from the TV show "House", Rene Auberjonois mostly recognized for his role as Odo from Star Trek Deep Space Nine and the cameo appearance from Kathy Bates who played Jeremy's girlfriend's mom. It's worth checking out.
