8 Women (8 Femmes) 2002,  R)
8 Women (8 Femmes)
This film is a celebration of French cinema and the beauty of its actresses and their undisputed talent. Rare are the films that has a large leading ensemble cast who all manage to give outstanding performances. Of course there's no doubt that Isabelle Huppert is the show stealer with her hysteric portrayal of her paranoid character. The screenplay is decent with some interesting plot twists and a cheesy ending, that knowing that it' cheesy feels right in place and so perfect. However the screenplay is lifted by its excellent script which is dim witted and extremely enjoyable. Francois Ozon, pulls of a difficult task directing such a film which is all in one location yet manages to give each scene a certain style, turning this theatre piece into a stylish cinematic gem. The art direction and cinematography are perfect. This is a rare achievement that I recommend and absolutely love.

Swimming Pool 2003,  R)
Swimming Pool
There's no denying the amount of talent that Francois Ozon have which is clearly proven in the way he directed Swimming Pool. But the film is led by the exceptional performances by Charlotte Rampling and Ludivine Sagnier who play opposites.

Potiche 2010,  R)
Potiche
This make more material for a tv series rather than a film yet it's very enjoyable and doesn't have any dull moment thanks largely to Ozon's stylish direction and a set of wonderful actors of course led by the legendary Catherine Deneuve.

Criminal Lovers 1999,  Unrated)
Criminal Lovers
Not as good as future Ozon works but still have the subtlety and layered messages that he's very well famous for.
