My Favourite Movies of the 1970s
My favourite movies from the 1970s. A lot of movies made before I was born are hard for me to enjoy because they feel so dated and 'of their time', but not these. To me, they're all timeless classics. The list is in order according to which I find most consistently absorbing from start to finish.

Halloween 1978, R)
My favourite horror movie, but not just a horror movie - an astute portrait of suburban life as well. Before the violence and menace even starts, it's already a pleasure to watch, as lively, yet organic conversations make the people feel far more real than most movie characters. |
