Perfume: The Story of a Murderer
I really went for this movie in a big way. First, let me start with the tone of the feature which feels like a dark fable, and the grandfatherly narration by John Hurt really fed into that idea of it being akin to Grimm Fairy Tale. Each and every one of the performances are perfect, especially Ben Whishaw as the enigmatic and bizarre young man with hypersensitive olfactory. I love the lush, romantic score by Tykwer and I'm hunting down a copy for myself. Everything about this production is awe-inspiring. A great film.

Rescue Dawn
This is a very good effort by Werner Herzog and Christian Bale. Bale has never gone for a project that wasn't in some way a worthy venture and this is certainly no exception. I love the jungle locations and the stellar casting. The characters that populate this story are vivid and memorable, and the pacing is just right.
