The Hangover is about four friends (Bradley Cooper), Zach Galifanakis), (Ed Helms), & (Justin Bartha) who plan to throw one of their buddies a bachelor party in Vegas. Everything goes smoothly the first night where they think their week is going to be blast. The next morning, they realize that something very strange is going on & they can't remember a thing that went on the other night. They also realize that one of their buddies is missing. Now, there is just the 3 of them that must go out in Vegas, find their friend, gather the glues & solve the mystery of why their memories are lost.
As of right now, The Hangover is my favorite comedy ever. I laughed throughout the entire film with an interesting storyline that was really unique & brilliant. The story draws you in from the very begining as you are introduced to the characters & solving the puzzle. Be warned, this film contains adult sexual situations & pervasive language that goes a little too far with the F-Word. Defenitly not permitted for children or teenagers. The Hangover is more of an Adult film thats mostly for guys & maybe girls will like it too but I think its mostly a guy film more than anything. This movie wouldn't of succeeded if it hadn't been for the cast. They make a great comedy duo by making the humor reach sky high.
Bradley Cooper had to be my favorite. He's such a great actor & love everything he's in. At first, I didn't think he had talent to be funny but while watching, I know now that he can do anything with his gift of acting. As of right now, Bradley is on the way to my top.
Ed Helms is next one I liked. I'm not familiar with him at all but I can tell ya this that he can put on a good show. By witnessing Ed in this, I noticed that he really knows how to keep the audience's attention. Ed doesn't shy away from the camera. He enjoys being seen to give the audience everything they asked for watching a film like this. Thats what I love about Mr. Helms & I hope to see more fo him in comedies.
Zach Galifanakis was a little strange for me but funny nonetheless. There were scenes where Zach gets out of control by acting immature doing really perverted things but he still had me cracking up.
Overall, The Hangover is worthy to you comedy collection. You'll be laughing till you can't breathe. If you can handle cursing & sexual material then The Hangover is defeinitly for you because thats basically all it is. I give The Hangover 5 stars for being the funniest comedy ever made & for making me have such a great enjoyable time watching it.
Bedtime Stories is a hillarious family comedy about a Uncle (Adam Sandler) who makes up bedtime stories to tell his nephew & niece. As their Uncle is telling the stories to them, the kids end up predicting what happens in the stories. When that happens, the stories start affecting their Uncle's life by becoming reality. Soon the kids Uncle starts realizing that only the kids can make the stories come true. Bedtime Stories cracked me up from start to finish. All the stories that were told by Adam Sandler were funny in their own little way. Something was always funny in them. Just when you think you had enough laughs think again. Adam Sandler is at his best by being funnier as ever. Bedtime Stories is defenitly the price of admission. So go out & watch this fun flick. 5 stars
Jim Carrey is still in top form in this flat out comedy called Yes Man. Yes Man is about a man named Carl (Jim Carrey) who likes to say no about everything. As Carl keeps saying no, he almost ends up loosing his friends over it. So Carl must change by doing something before he ruins his life for good. One day a man comes to Carl & invites him to this program called Yes. When that happens, the guy asks Carl if he would say no to his yes. So Carl does say no & the guy shows him that even though you say yes to everything, there will be a price to pay for doing the right thing. So Carl goes to the Yes program just to see if thats true.. When the program starts, a strange person (Terrence Stamp) who owns the seminar to the Yes program asks anyone who is new to this program. Carl says he is & the owner goes to Carl & starts talking with him about his condition. Carl says no to the owner & suddenly the owner gets mad & tells him that he should not use that word no anymore, just say Yes for now on. When Carl heard that, Carl thinks he's been threatened by saying the word yes all the time. As Carl is on his way out of the seminar, strange things start happening as people start asking him for stuff & Carl can't get away from saying yes. So no matter what, Carl has no choice to say yes to everything now. As Carl keeps saying yes to everything in his path, he runs into a girl (Zooey Deschanel) & thinks thats she's good thing he gets out of saying yes. Sparks begin to fly has the two like each other. Things go sour when Carl says yes to some things that he shouldn't & ends up affecting him & girlfriends relationship. So Carl must be sure that he's making the right decision about saying yes before he looses everything that he cares for.
Yes Man was somewhat of a good comedy depends the way you look at it. It had some funny moments & stupid ones also. I have to admit the movie did do justice for me but expected a whole lot better than what they gave me. This one was almost too over the top but it was still pretty good decent comedy. This movie was the complete opposite of Liar Liar but i liked that one so much better. Overall, if you like Jim Carrey & Comedies. I recommend you see this. Jim Carrey is still the king of comedians. 3 1/2 stars
Schwarzenegger is John Kimble, a cop on a big case to finding a son, Domnic & his ex-wife, Joyce (Penelope Ann Miller) & put them in protective custody before the father criminal, Collin Crisp (Richard Tyson) is released from prison & takes whsts his. The only way Kimble can prevent from happening is by going undercover as a substitute kindergarden teacher.
Rooke of the Year is a family/comedy about a kid named Henry Rollingardner (Thomas Ian Nicolas) who lets his baseball team down. One day, that all changes when Henry has an accident that causes him to hurt his arm. From getting hurt, Henry gets something in return where he has the gift to rotate his arm with strong tendancies. Henry's favorite baseball team hires him to pitch for them where they need someone to bring their game back. Later on, Henry begins to feel like everything has been too easy for him where he's been missing out on his childhood. Henry must choose whether to stick with his gift or his family/friends.
Rooke of the Year was a decent comedy with some hillarious parts. It was entertaining enough to make yourself like it. The acting wasn't bad. It was actually the best thing about the film. The movie is very realistic but makes you think what you could end up with if you were in Henry's situation. Still is was fun little film for the whole family to enjoy. I would watch it again every now & then. I actually grew up watching this when i was very little. I still like it & i'm adult now. It seems like no matter how old i get, i wont stop watching it. Rookie of the Year will always be one of my favorite family comedies. So if your looking for a decent family/comedy that has a few good laughs check this one out.
The Mask is great comedy about a bank clerk named Stanley Ipkiss (Jim Carrey) who finds a mask & gets transformed into a insain person who does some of the most idiotic things you could only imagine. As Stanley is the Mask, he falls in love with a woman named Tina Carlyle (Cameron Diaz) who he's desperate for. When Stanley gets involved with Tina, her ex boyfriend Dorian Tyrell (Peter Greene) doesn't like them around each other. So, Dorian does everything in his power to keep them apart. Matters get worse when Dorian kidnaps Tina & puts her in a dangerous situation that she can't get out of. Now, Stanley must use all of his powers to rescue Tina & save the city from Dorain's evil plans. The Mask was a very funny movie. I enjoyed every second watching it. Jim Carrey will keep you laughing till the very end. The Mask is the best comedy of its kind. 4 stars
Liar Liar is nonstop comedy about a lawyer/father named Fletcher Reed (Jim Carrey) who has a adorable son Max (Justin Cooper) & a divorced wife (Maura Tierny) who doesn't always keep his word to. When his son does that, Fletcher can't stop telling the truth where ever he goes. Things get worse with Fletcher & his job when he is not able to lie in his cases. Now, Fletcher must find away to win in court & being there for his son by proving that he can tell the truth no mattter what. Liar Liar is a very funny movie throughout. I really enjoyed watching this film. Its filled with jaw dropping laughs that will keep you entertained till the very end.
