Agent Cody Banks 2003,  PG)

Airport 1970,  G)
Airport
The old disaster movies are great, Airport altho is one of the slightly weaker ones, it is full of comedy, action, and slow working thrills. It is amazing how dated the content seems but lets face it it was almost 40 years ago. It still stands strong against the attempts of nowadays and has a great cast each with their own storylines.
8
Aladdin 1992,  G)
9
Alexander 2004,  R)
10
Alfie 1966,  PG)
Alfie
Alfie is my favourite Michael Caine performance he manages to find something in the character and show it in a way noone else could. His sexually driven strong male role slowly crumbles and the vulnerble reality comes through. The script and story are great and i urge all to see this if they havent already. A British classic!
11
Alfie 2004,  R)
12
The Alibi (Lies & Alibis) 2006,  R)
13
Alien 1979,  R)
Alien
In essence Alien is just a sci-fi slasher movie with a big Alien playing the murderous role, this said it has become hugely iconic and is a classic of the genre. Although i must admit i prefer Aliens and Alien 3 i respect and like Alien because it gives us the background and the actual Aliens themselves. Well made and very atmospheric, good scenery and SFX also.
14
Aliens 1986,  R)
Aliens
Aliens takes the series to a new level it adds a lot more action and a lot more excitment. If the original was a sci-fi slasher movie this is a sci-fi war movie with everything you expect from both genres. A good story offering up more Aliens, more death and more horror. One of those sequals that may well surpass the original, a tough one though.
15
Alien3 1992,  R)
Alien3
Alien 3 follows on from the first with as much action and as much human death. Very similar to the second as its obvious the cast are all stood there waiting to be wiped out one by one. Then again this is why we all watch them isn't it. A good cast of mainly British supporting cast getting wasted all over the shop, great action scenes again and a worthy third part to the saga.
16
AVP - Alien Vs. Predator 2004,  PG-13)
AVP - Alien Vs. Predator
Not as good as it could have been but an enjoyable popcorn movie.
17
Ali 2001,  R)
Ali
One of Will Smith's strongest performances by far but he is seriously let down by the basic brush over the whole story gets. Its never gritty and doesnt pause on a moment at all, it needed to dig deeper but lacked that depth which harmed it greatly in my view. Interesting casting of Jon Voight also considering he is in latex all thru the movie.
18
All the President's Men 1976,  PG)
19
Almost Famous 2000,  R)
20
America's Sweethearts 2001,  PG-13)
21
American Beauty 1999,  R)
American Beauty
A modern classic, Sam Mendes has brought us a true classic in his first outing as a director. Getting one of if not his finest performance from Kevin Spacey on his dry best abley supported by a great cast including Annette Bening, Wes Bentley, Thora Birch, Mena Suvari and Chris Cooper many of which will struggle to give a perfomance like this gain. A great story of a suburb of people trapped in the lives they wish to escape.
22
American Dreamz 2002,  PG-13)
23
American Graffiti 1973,  PG)
American Graffiti
A stand out movie for its era, Focusing on a small group of teens who spend their time doing very little but hanging and cruising, this movie really hit the nail it wants to, shame George Lucas went on to direct the sci-fi drivvle he did.
24
American Gun 2002,  R)
25
American History X 1998,  R)
American History X
An amazing performance from Ed Norton proves his is as well as versatile an outstanding acting talent. His performance is a stand out in a gritty dark masterpiece. The supporting cast offer great backing and the script is well written also. I defy anyone to forget the curb eating scene easily!
26
American Pie 1999,  R)
American Pie
Having not seen this movie for a few years i forgot how good it really is. Although it is to blame for the following parade of teen movies American Pie has a good story line with real sentiment , a great soundtrack a good cast and was something different at the time.
27
American Pie 2 2001,  R)
American Pie 2
Although lacking the innocense of the first American Pie, AP2 still boats amany similarityies to the first the great soundtrack, well written script, good cast. Everything you expect from a follow up to American Pie with some truley hilarious scenes.
28
American Wedding 2003,  R)
American Wedding
Following in pretty much the same vane as AP & AP2, American Pie: The Wedding as the final part of the trilogy it offers laughs and romance a plenty but not on par with the first two movies. Missing several key members of past flicks The Wedding is a sufficient closing forthis storyline.
29
American Pie Presents - Band Camp 2005,  R)
American Pie Presents - Band Camp
I feared the worst when American Pie started presenting movies, and against my better nature i decided to finally watch Band Camp. I was very pleasently suprised although the movie starts out very slow and looks like its going to be a stinker it manages to save itself. I'm not too sure this should have been Presented by AP but i guess this was mainly to sell it.

Analyze That 2002,  R)
35
Anaconda 1997,  PG-13)
Anaconda
Im a sucker for movies which have animals stalking and killing humans. Its a basic idea that neve rtries to be more than it is. Simple sometimes stupid action where you know 90% of the cast is going to be eaten or killed just gotta work out who 1st. Pure cheese and so over the top i love Anaconda!
36
Anacondas - The Hunt for the Blood Orchid 2004,  PG-13)
Anacondas - The Hunt for the Blood Orchid
Anacondas is not rocket science, if you have seen the first Anaconda movie you will know exactly what to expect but in a straight-to-DVD sequal form. The story is cheesy but suiting the action is good fun and the cast are whats needed if a little wooden. The SFX are a little lapse at times and Matthew Marsden's bad guy is so 2d and cardboard otherwise good fun tho.
37
Anchorman - The Legend Of Ron Burgundy 2004,  PG-13)
Anchorman - The Legend Of Ron Burgundy
Back when Will Ferrell was a good comedy actor he is now on the downward spiral but there is hope still. Anchorman is a supurbly written outlandish commedy which is boasts great performances from Ferrell and Steve Carell.
38
And Then There Were None 1945,  Unrated)
39
Angel Heart 1987,  R)
40
Anger Management 2003,  PG-13)
41
The Anniversary Party 2001,  R)
The Anniversary Party
The Anniversary offers up a great cast, sadly most of the cast is pushed aside for Alan Cummings and Jennifer Jason Leigh. Kevin Kline and John C. Reilly are virtual onlookers there for scenery. The things i found hardest to understand with this is how homosexual Alan Cummings wrote himself a straight role but played it like he was so openly gay, it just made viewing hard.
42
Antitrust 2001,  PG-13)
43
Any Given Sunday 1999,  R)
Any Given Sunday
As a massive fan of Oliver Stone i was curious to see what he could do with American football. Then i saw the cast list and it intreguied me even more. It certainly doesnt let down, Al Pacino works best when he has a quality director and puts in a Heat-like perfomance here another impressive point is that Jamie Foxx more than holds his own with a spot on big screen outing surrounded by heavyweights. AGS also strong performance from Cameron Diaz and Dennis Quaid.
44
Apocalypse Now 1979,  R)
Apocalypse Now
Apocalypse Now is the one true Vietnam movie that works 100% in the qustioning of was/is it really worth it! Great perfomance by Martin Sheen takes you through several sections of the movie each showing in its own way the ruthlesness and hrash reality of war. Beautifully directed by Coppola and good supporting performances from Fishburne, Hopper, Forrester and a special mention to Robert Duvall who to me steals the show completly.
45
Apocalypto 2006,  R)
Apocalypto
Apocalypto tries to be something it isnt, because its in Mayan it feels it is a heavy and seriosu movie but when you watch it you realise that its ajust a basic action mnovie but just set in a jungle with Mayan tribes rather than in a city. Its brutal in places but overall predicatble, not as strong as Passion or Braveheart.
46
Apollo 13 1995,  PG)
Apollo 13
Apollo 13 has 99% of it a great cast a talented director and a true story that captured the nation. However i feel its just falls flat the excitment builds but never lifts, good acting from all involved helps but due to the story it never quite gets as tense as it should do.
47
Arlington Road 1999,  R)
48
Armageddon 1998,  PG-13)
Armageddon
On eof the Top 5 action flicks ever, this movie has it all blockbuster special effects, a great cast, a good story, humour, action, a range of emotions. Michael Bay loves to make his bi blockbuster SFX movies but with this one he has made a winner.
49
As Good As It Gets 1997,  PG-13)
50
The Assassination of Richard Nixon 2004,  R)
The Assassination of Richard Nixon
The Assassination of Richard Nixon blew me away and very much so in particular Sean Penn's performance its is one of the best i have ever seen. The movie didn't receive much press upon release in the UK and i only became aware after Penn's Oscar nomination. The film is Penn no one can argue this, he steals the show.
51
Assault on Precinct 13 2005,  R)
Assault on Precinct 13
An enjoyable remake i the casting was very god and good to see Ethan Hawke back on the silverscreen the action keeps coming and follows all the action movie rules.
52
Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery 1997,  PG-13)
53
The Aviator 2004,  PG-13)
54
Awakenings 1990,  PG-13)
55
Babel 2006,  R)
Babel
After watching Babel i was left thinking why all the hype? There are a hanful of different stories which are linked albeit by the minutest of threads. Each story on its own could have been so much better if given the time. But because fo the constant cutting etc i felt its was very disjointed. The strongest story i felt was Rinko Kikychi's and felt robbed at the lack of concentration.
56
The Bachelor 1999,  PG-13)
57
Bachelor Party 1984,  R)
58
Backdraft 1991,  R)
59
Badlands 1973,  PG)
60
BASEketball 1998,  R)
61
The Bat 1959,  PG)
62
Batman: The Movie 1966,  PG)
63
Batman 1989,  PG-13)
Batman
One of the best movies of the 80s and a standout comic book adaptation. Keaton fits the role well and the direction is rypical Burton at his best.
64
Batman Returns 1992,  PG-13)
Batman Returns
Not upto the first but didn't expect it to be, DeVito puts ina good performance once again not as good as Nicholson. Another good superhero package tho.
65
Batman Forever 1995,  PG-13)
Batman Forever
Burton out - Schumacher in, Keaton out - Kilmer in. This for me made the movie a let down, Jim Carrey pulls of The Riddler perfectly but Tommy Lee Jones isn't given enough screen time. A real let down.
66
Batman & Robin 1997,  PG-13)
Batman & Robin
Joel Schumacher once again ruins a Batman movie, this whole movie is just ultimate cheese but bad cheese, Mr Freeze actually brings some humanity to the scene but all others seem to just read there lines.
67
Batman Begins 2005,  PG-13)
Batman Begins
Awesome movie, a refreshing take on the Batman story. Darl, well acted, the campness of the hero is taken away and replaced with more realism.
68
Battle Royale 3D 2001,  Unrated)
Battle Royale 3D
A really great idea and follows the same bloody ideals as many crossover japanese movies. The cast act this out wells and its its constant action all the way through in my view one of the best foreign flicks i have ever seen.
69
Batoru rowaiaru II: Chinkonka (Battle Royale II) 2003,  Unrated)
70
Be Cool 2005,  PG-13)
71
Beautiful Girls 1996,  R)
72
A Beautiful Mind 2001,  PG-13)
73
Beavis and Butt-Head Do America 1996,  PG-13)
Beavis and Butt-Head Do America
A wicked series whihc was bound to get its big screen showing eventually. The characters are all lifted straight from the series and don't disappoint, a good story typically B&B.
74
Bedazzled 2000,  PG-13)
Bedazzled
Shamingly i must admit i don't hate Bedazzled i find an enjoyable Sunday afternoon flick. Lets be honest the acting isnt great and the script neither but it never professes to be. I have to add tho Liz Hurley is stunning in the role of the Devil very suiting to here.
75
Beetlejuice 1988,  PG)
76
Before Sunset 2004,  R)
77
Behind Enemy Lines 2001,  PG-13)
Behind Enemy Lines
Good to see Owen Wilson in a serious action role a good bit of diversity, he holds his own in this military flick. The idea is nothing new but it is done well and the cast lifts it above many others. A predictableending but all in all an easy on the eye action flick.
78
Being John Malkovich 1999,  R)
Being John Malkovich
A truley bizarre idea for a film although one that works really well. The perfomances are a strange mix of humour and seriousness that makes this movie really work. String perfomances from all four main stars and this would have fallen flat if JM hadnt been the star chosen for the portal.
79
Best Laid Plans 1999,  R)
Best Laid Plans
Best Laid Plans is an entertaining picture but i feel it is predictable in places. There is a lot of to and froing, once you get set with one screw job another comes along. The performances are good Nivola and Witherspoon do well but i feel Josh Brolin is the stand out talent here.
80
The Big Bounce 2004,  PG-13)
The Big Bounce
I really enjoyed this movie, Elmore Leonard's writting shone through and the charismatic Owen Wilson was upto the job as usual. A good array of supporting roles which all add their little bits but it's all about Owen Wilson.
81
The Big Bus 1976,  PG)
The Big Bus
A spoof of the 70s disaster movies Big Bus is a la Airplane and Scary Movie is the sense that it it totally idiotic humour. A novel idea and some good jokes dont cover uop the fact it is weak and the good gags are few and far betwen.
82
Big Daddy 1999,  PG-13)
83
The Big Empty 2003,  R)
The Big Empty
The Big Empty follows a set up that is not new, the whole big town guy stranded in a small place surrounded by a range of bizarre folks. The element The Big Empty uses to differentiate itself is the alien factor but this just doesn't seem to fit in as an actual event rather than deluded wishing. Great cast and Jon Favreau holds the main role well a much under appreciated actor.
84
Big Fish 2004,  PG-13)
Big Fish
A wonderfully crafted tale of Edward Bloom's life, in places the story seems unbelievable and his son cannot take any of it as serious. Tim Burton brings his usually style of directing to this and with a cast as strong as this he cant go wrong.
85
The Big Lebowski 1998,  R)
The Big Lebowski
Cohens at their best. Bridges at his best. Great support great soundtrack awesome movie. The Dude is king
86
Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure 1989,  PG)
Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure
I prefer Bogus Journey to Excellent Adventure but this has many of the same traits as Bogus Journey. As the first of the two its sets the scene well and the idea of travellign through time to grab peopel from history to help with a report is opne which gives plenty to make laughs with. Reeves and Winter are perfectly cast and the chemistry betwen them seems spot on.
87
Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey 1991,  PG)
88
Bio-Dome 1996,  PG-13)
Bio-Dome
One of my all time favourite comedies! A lot of people hate Pauly Shore however in Bio-Dome Bud Mackintosh is just a scream adaptation of Pauly Shore and thus it works really well. Shore and Baldwin have real chemistry and work so well together a criminally ignored or disliked film. Funny, Good cast, good soundtrack just check it out!
89
The Birds 1963,  PG-13)
The Birds
Although looking dated nowadays The Birds still stands strong with its excellent direction and thrilling story. The concept is a scary one and with one ofthe most memorable final shots The Birds will live on for decades to come.
90
Black Hawk Down 2001,  R)
Black Hawk Down
Black Hawk Down is a great action/war movie and i thinkthe use of Ridley Scott as director has a massive part to do with this. It's good that America didn't totally change a whole deal of the facts surrounding this as they usually do in war flicks. A great cast and plenty of great action, non stop and a film to watch over and over.
91
Black Snake Moan 2007,  R)
Black Snake Moan
Black Snake Moan i found was nothing but an excuse to have Christina Ricci running around naked or half naked. Don't get me wrong the acting from Ricci and Samuel L. Jackson was good compared to what we are used to from them but the story is dull and uninspiring. Justin Timberlake did well in his over billed role and is building a good portfolio.
92
Blade 1998,  R)
Blade
The film that started the great comic book adaptation landslide of the 90s/00s. Blade is a fun flick that offer good action with a good cast i felt the SFX let the movie down in places but overall a good movie.
93
Blade II 2002,  R)
Blade II
Guillermo del Toro takes the helm for this sequal and that is a good choice, with this he makes a movie that offers nonstop action and follows enough of the the original Blade ideas but with a story that is not just a remake of sorts.
94
Blade: Trinity 2004,  R)
Blade: Trinity
The third and probably final offering in the Blade series takes a slightly different route. With Ryan Reynolds (comedy) and Jessica Biel (eye-candy) added to the mix the focus is taken away from the pure action and lightened up alot. This however is welcome as it could have got stle with a lot less action.
95
The Blair Witch Project 1999,  R)
The Blair Witch Project
The sheer impact Blair Witch had upon its release was amazing even more so if you consdier the production and then the actual content of the movie. I take BWP not as a horror but as a study of how 3 teen documentary makers react to being lost in a woods, good performances from the 3 leads. Itake the tent russleing and bnoises as secondary and even as false subconciousnss due to the situation.
96
Blind Horizon 2004,  R)
97
Blow 2001,  R)
98
Blue Crush 2002,  PG-13)
Blue Crush
Blue Crush follows an expected story line oh how some one dedicated to something 100% gets distracted by the introduction of a member of the opposite sex offering a different life. The acting is good and the soundtrack is awesome.
99
Blue Velvet 1986,  R)
100
The Bodyguard 1992,  R)
101
Bonnie and Clyde 1967,  R)
102
Boogie Nights 1997,  R)
103
Born on the Fourth of July 1989,  R)
Born on the Fourth of July
One of Tom Cruise's strongest performances, with Cruise getting 95% of the screen time and what with the basis of the story it asks alot of Cruise but he is up to it. A stronger support cast in mainly minor roles and great direction as always from Oliver Stone make this a great flick.
104
Boy Eats Girl 2005,  R)
105
Braveheart 1995,  R)
Braveheart
Probably Mel Gibson's finest filmatic outting both as an actor and a director, the sheer power of the movie works so well with the brutality and the love equally. Although not strictly correct on the history front i doesn;t stop Braveheart from being a classic with a great script some perfect performances and story that is timeless.
106
The Break-Up 2006,  PG-13)
The Break-Up
Cringingly good. The film made me feel uncomfortable, a suprisingly good movie.
107
The Breakfast Club 1985,  R)
The Breakfast Club
The Breakfast Club is a genuinly perfect movie, a legend of any age in film making. The definative teen movie has it all, a great cast putting in great performances, a great soundtrack, a great story and great direction. It's a timeless tale and everyone should see this at least once in there life.
108
Brick 2006,  R)
Brick
Never a dull moment always something happening, great script, great acting, a w holley impressive movie, with a perfect cast.
109
Bride of Chucky 1998,  R)
110
The Bridge on the River Kwai 1957,  PG)
The Bridge on the River Kwai
A great movie, based on an excellent novel and made for the screen i nthe best possible way. William Holden's performance really stands out o me but obviously you cannot ignore Alec Guinness'. Along with the movie a top and rememorable theme.
111
A Bridge Too Far 1977,  R)
A Bridge Too Far
One of my favourite war films... scratch that, one of my fav films ever. Based on a tragic and extremely important Operation through the Cornelius Ryan novel this all star picture is a constant and thrilling ride. Defionatly one to watch!
112
Bridget Jones's Diary 2001,  R)
Bridget Jones's Diary
A true British girly flick, Renee Zellweger does really well in a role that seems almost written for her, add to that her chemistry with Colin Firth and Hugh Grant who both put in good but not uncommon roles. A good supporting cast and from what i'm told a good adaptation from the book.
113
Bridget Jones - The Edge of Reason 2004,  R)
114
Bringing Out the Dead 1999,  R)
Bringing Out the Dead
Something a bit different from Martin Scorsese it is still one of his New York stories but isn't quite the cut throat violence he usually offers. This is more about an internal battle than external and the performance put in by the lead stars are rvery compelling.
115
Brokeback Mountain 2005,  R)
116
Broken Arrow 1996,  R)
Broken Arrow
One of my favourite action movies of the 90s, Broken Arrow sees John Travolta given free reign in a lead bad guy role and he eats it up and gives a great performance. Christian Slater is just there to give Travolta something to work off but he does well still. John Woo gets the best out of his stars and bring you a great if not original action flick.
117
Broken Flowers 2005,  R)
118
Bubba Ho-Tep 2002,  R)
119
Buena Vista Social Club 1998,  G)
120
Buffalo Soldiers 2001,  R)
121
Bullets Over Broadway 1994,  R)
Bullets Over Broadway
Woody Allen's BOB seems all to wishy washy no great details seems to just skate over the characters. A good cast let down by the script i feel, Chazz Palminteri is the only actor to stand out at all.
122
Bullitt 1968,  PG)
123
The Bunker 2001,  R)
124
The Business 2004,  R)
The Business
A very light take on Brit gangsters in Spain, all to lame no real grit. Also to compare this to Casino, Goodfellas and Scarface is pure sacralidge. Danny Dyer just didnt excite in this role where as Tamer Hassan at least seemed to flow with it.
125
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid 1969,  PG)
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
I'm not sure why it's taken me so long to get round to seeing this but let me tell you the wait was worth it. Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid is most definatly one of the best films of the lates 60's also one ofthe bestwesterns and buddy movies. Newman & Redford sparks with charisma and they work together so well. A great picture in fact a classic!
126
Cabin Fever 2002,  R)
Cabin Fever
Eli Roth's first picture a stepping stone onto box office sucess this movie took the genre back to how it used to be a basic story very simple yet very effective.
127
Campfire Stories 2000,  R)
128
Can't Hardly Wait 1998,  PG-13)
Can't Hardly Wait
One of themost underated teen movies to have come out. A good story that sticks to the ropes enough but also has several different side stories going on within. Through out the film there so many notable cameos or small roles squeezed in wherever possible. Just so much fun, great flick.
129
Cape Fear 1962,  Unrated)
Cape Fear
A good thriller with a perfectly assembled cast, Robert Mitchum's casting is perfect no one could carry this role like he did at the time. Gregory Peck plays the role well.
130
Cape Fear 1991,  R)
131
Capote 2005,  R)
Capote
Not a film i thought would interest me, however not long into the film its really struck me the acting is top rate and the story is genuinly interesting i found i couldnt stop watching this and thoroughly enjoyed eveyr minute of it.
132
Captain Corelli's Mandolin 2001,  R)
Captain Corelli's Mandolin
Captain Corelli's Mandolin leaves me torn, its a good story and it is well directed in beautiful surroundings. I am a big fan on Nic Cage but here he isnt at his best and his accent is off, Penelope Cruz is once again plays her role flat and dull. A plus on the acting side is David Morrissey who i have never seen put in any sort of decent performance until here.
133
Carlito's Way 1993,  R)
134
The Cannonball Run 1981,  PG)
The Cannonball Run
Great movie. What a start to a flick the Countash and the cop car wow did i just cum in my pants lol.
135
Carrie 1976,  R)
136
The Rage: Carrie 2 1999,  R)
137
The Cars That Ate Paris 1974,  R)
138
Casino 1995,  R)
Casino
Having seen Casino once before and not liking it i decided to watch it again after Scorsese's more recent flicks came out. My view changed and this movie was so much better this time around. Great acting gretadirecting well written and a good story line.
139
Casino Royale 1967,  G)
Casino Royale
I love this movie! This Casino Royale is far superior to the lame Daniel Craig Bond movie on so many levels. It boasts a great ensemble cast and a superb soundtrack/score. The story is so funny and zany and it has so many memorably funny scenes. The ending is for me one of my fav endings in any movie.
140
Casino Royale 2006,  PG-13)
Casino Royale
The most boring James Bond movie to date, really nothing much happened in the movie, very little action and a very basic storyline. Mads Mikkelsen was very under used and i just dont think Daniel Craig can quite carry off the role.
141
Casualties of War 1989,  R)
Casualties of War
Michael J. Fox is excellent in this moving and disturbing tale of wrong doing under the cover of war. Fox's performance is his best to date and probably will be fullstop. There is very good supporting play by Sean Penn of whichyou come to expect really. Back when DePalma was directing strong movies this one is a cracker.
142
Catch Me If You Can 2002,  PG-13)
Catch Me If You Can
Spielberg, Hanks, DiCaprio can you see this movie not working? Answer no chance. It oozes everything you love about the three stars slick direction and typical string performances from Hanks and DiCaprio. A good story which adapts well to the big screen, generally a very entertaining movie.
143
Changing Lanes 2002,  R)
144
Chasing Liberty 2004,  PG-13)
Chasing Liberty
Usually this sort of film would appeal to me but Matthew Goode's charcter really annoyed me and thi stopped me from enjoying the film overall. Chasing Liberty is actually a weak movie and is soley relying on Mandy Moore to carry it which she attempts to galiantly. A let down in review.

Chicago 2002,  PG-13)
Chicago
I put of watching Chicago for a long time it didnt interest me at all. The fact Catherine Zeta-Jones won an Oscar for her role shocked me so i decided i best watch it. I loved it, the songs are great the acting perfect and really well cast, although CZJ isnt Oscar worthy she does well but for me Richard Gere is the stand out. And All That Jazz!

An enjoybale Stephen King adaptation from John Carpenter - who's fast becoming a fav director of mine. Keith Gordon offers a good performance in the leads and the supporting cast are upto it too but Christine steals the show as expected.

Citizen Kane
All the hype about this movie is deserved Orson Welles is amazing. At just 25 to direct, produce, write and star in this master peice is truley breath taking. His performance has lost nothing what with him doing as the tasks,. A True Classic.
155
City by the Sea 2002,  R)
156
City Hall 1996,  R)
City Hall
City Hall benefits from a great cast of talented actors but falters with its predictable and in places paint by numbers story/script. John Cusack plays a role he's not un accustomd to and does well in it same can be said for Al Pacino who i think relies on auto pilot more than anything else.

City of Angels 1998,  PG-13)

Cidade de Deus (City of God) 2002,  R)
Cidade de Deus (City of God)
City of God is everything everyone raves about it being. This is a true story which makes you think as it's as hard hitting as any Hollywood ganster flick (Goodfellas) but all true, it's brings home the true trouble that Brazil goes through. A great story and amazing performances from stars in the making, so much goes on in each different strand of the story a classic that deserves to be up there.

Cool Hand Luke
Cool Hand Luke is a classic, only recently have i become more aware of Paul Newman's impressive back catalogue. Having seen Newman in Cool Hand Luke i am now sure he is one of the finest actors of the generation. The story is one of a guy who doesn't fit the time but who also feels that he isn't free to be what he wants. When arrested they try to make him conform but he still lives as he wishes an this leads to both touching and funny scenarios. In the end the man may think they got what they wanted but Luke never gave in.

Confessions of a Dangerous Mind 2002,  R)
Confessions of a Dangerous Mind
George Clooney's calling is as a director, don;t get me wrong i think he has done some great movies - ie Out Of Sight - but you can see as a director he has a good eye. The story is a humerous and sad tale of Chuck Barris and his possibly fictional possibly truthful life as an undercover spy. Sam Rockwell worksthe role really well and Drew Barrymore & George Clooney offer good support, Julia Roberts however is not cast particularly wel land doesnt suit.

Constantine 2005,  R)
Constantine
I think Constantine is one of the better choices of comic book adaptation as the hero is an anti hero of sorts. John Constantine has many downfalls hes a chain smoker, hard drinker, a suicidee someone who isnt whiter than white so i enjoy the character more than a lot of the goodie goodie comic heros. A good traditional toryline of good vs evil with a twist throw in the a good cast and u have a good flick.

Crash
Crash, deserved winner of the 2006 Best Picture award is a great movie. It tackles the difficult subject of rasicm but doesi t well covering a large ensamble cast with entertwining stories and issues. The performances are great and considering the size of the cast there are some real gems in there, Howard, Ludacris etc.

Critters 1986,  PG-13)
Critters
An average 80s b-movie horror, nothing special in any way but if you got nothing else to watch give it a go. Setting in the small dusty town is a tradional place and the who thing is unoriginal.

Critters 2 - The Main Course 1988,  PG-13)
Critters 2 - The Main Course
Sequal following on two years from the first nothing much seems to happen in this flick which is a shame as i thought it would build on the first. Theeffects are cheaps but the critters a cool lil furry balls lol.

Critters 3 - You Are What They Eat 1991,  PG-13)
Critters 3 - You Are What They Eat
The strongest of the series in my view, the stars keep together and the fact that the critters are in a tighter location gives it a better feel. Leonardo DiCaprio in his first big screen outing does well little did he know what waits ahead.
184
Critters 4 - They're Invading Your Space 1991,  PG-13)
Critters 4 - They're Invading Your Space

The Crow
The Crow is a dark classic, the story is strong and very easy to get into, the performances are are hard, touching and enchanting at the same time. Brandon Lee shows his true acting talent in a role that took him away far too young. Not many dark movies are as slick but as harsh as The Crow, a cult classic!

A good strong traditional horror movie. It very much felt like a 70s horror movie and genuinly makes you jump. A good solid idea and its done well, not over the top and not American cheese either. A cast made up of non household names all put in good performances.

Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo
After hearing good things about Deuce Bigelow i decided that i should get round to watching it, what a mistake Deuce is just so unfunny its almost painful in palces, the story offers up what should be a great bed to work from butthe actually events through out are not funny and end up just dragging out. Rob Schneider should stick to support acting he just can''t carry a film alone.

The Devil's Rejects
Quality over quantity, this movie doe'snt offer a lot but what it does offer is done well. Good directing, camera work and casting. However the story line is a little lacking with not so much happening. Excellent cast of horror veterans though, spot the star.

Die Hard 1988,  R)
Die Hard
One of the best action movies ever. It has it all cheesy catchphrases, a supurb hero, with an tattitude to boot, a great turn by a brit in the bad guy role. Finally a hell of a lot ofshooting, explosions and action. Excellent Bruce Willis and Alan Rickman showdown in a true classic of the genre.
222
Die Hard 2 (Die Hard 2: Die Harder) 1990,  R)
Die Hard 2 (Die Hard 2: Die Harder)
Very similair to the first Die Hard, this time based at an Airport in Washington. Once again John McClane is in thw rong place at the wrong time leading to heavy action, a full on non stop flick.
223
Die Hard 3: With a Vengeance 1995,  R)
Die Hard 3: With a Vengeance
An excellent thrid installment of the Die Hard series. DHwAV takes it to the next level bringing in Jeremy Irons as a stronmger bad guy and based in a wide area. This its an awesome ride throwing in Sam Jackson as a sidekick gives it a whole lot extra too.
224
Dirty Dancing 1987,  PG-13)
Dirty Dancing
You forget just how good Dirty Dancing is if you go a few years without seeing it. Well after refreshing my memory i can say i love this movie, one of the best movie of the decade a real feel good flick. Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey put in great performance as the two leads who grow so much during the film with the aide of dancing.

Dog Day Afternoon 1975,  R)
Dog Day Afternoon
A true classic and one of Pacinos best. The 70s was full of genuine classic movies and i feel this is definatly up there. Al Pacino and John Cazale are perfect in the lead roles and its continual edge fo the seat stuff. I could happily watch DDA every day and still enjoy it just as much.
231
Dog Soldiers 2002,  R)
Dog Soldiers
A great British low budget horror movies that actually works. Although very much toungue in cheek this movie is a great traditional b-movie, great script, good acting altogether a good watch.
232
Dogma 1999,  R)
Dogma
Dogma is a great risque cinema, picking a sensative subject and picking and poking at it with usual Kevin Smith humour. An array of creative characters each a great take on religious figures but with novel ideas. The acting is great and very tongue in cheek, you gotta check this out even if you are into the religion.

Dogville 2003,  R)

Domino 2005,  R)
235
Donnie Brasco 1997,  R)
Donnie Brasco
Donnie Brasco is one of the best gangster genre movie out there, if you havent seen it you should go see it now! Al Pacino and Johnny Depp give great performances, Depp does too much aimed at a younger audience nowadays but this proves he can do grit in a more adult role. Pacino is great in a lower role to his usual characters a lot more down trodden than usual.
236
Donnie Darko 2001,  R)
237
Doom 2005,  R)
Doom
If yuou want a good cheesy meat head movie then Doom is a pretty good choice. Ive watched it several times now and just enjoy the pure naffness. The Rock overplays in true style as dop the rest of the cast. Some cool action and death scenes and i really enjoyed the POV Doom style cut scenes.
238
The Doors 1991,  R)
The Doors
As a massive The Doors fan i can give Val Kilmer two thumbs up as this is an excellent performance quite possibly his career high point. The supporting cast are all goof but Morrison is the star of the story so they are pushed back. Another compelling story put to film by Stone as only he could, excellent!
239
Double Whammy 2001,  R)
240
Down in the Valley 2005,  R)
Down in the Valley
Down In The Valley was a slow paced non sensical movie which offered long lingering shots and slow and moody performances from all. Evan Rachel Wood and the dependable David Morse were the shining lights but Edward Norton i feel was let down by his flat character, not one of his best by far.

Nic Cage pulls on the Private dick personna and goes into the murky undeground porn world, this movies works well with a good edgy idea. I was suprised a studio agreed to shoot this considering the material but is done well and not to gratuistous. Nic Cage does well as does Phoenix in an early supporting role.
260
Election 1999,  R)
Election
Election is a slightly off the wall comedy in the same vain as most Alexander Payne movies. It offers you a humerous situation and within that situation are several good performances, notable from Broderick and Witherspoon who's underlying battle steals the show. A teen movie done from an older perspective.
261
Elektra 2005,  PG-13)
262
Elephant 2003,  R)
Elephant
I usually fall one way or the other strongly with Gus Van Sant and Elephant falls on the side of good. The usual long flowwing shots and the cuts to the sky are here but this time theyare thrown in with a very contriversial theme. For the most part Van Sant captures the plain everyday style of school life spot on which is made even better when the massacre actually hits the screen. I found the massacre scens disturbing obviously because ofthe strong link to real life. Overal done very well but lthe motivation shown was way too much combined.
263
Elizabethtown 2005,  PG-13)
Elizabethtown
Cameron Crowe brings his excellent idealistic character to a more romantic setting. The kooky Dunst and the down Bloom brings different sparks to this film, Dunst potraying a somewhat kooky perfect woman and Bloom a down on his luck could be perfect suiter. The chemistry is there thanks in no small way to Crowe's writing. Have to also mention the outstanding soundtrack.

Escape from L.A.

269
Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind 2004,  R)
Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind
Quite possible the most bizarley endearing romance - of sorts - movie ever made. With its twists and turns and unique idea this movie just captures you completley, Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet are on fine form and actually work so well as a couple. Michel Gondry's direction of another classic Kaufman script is spot on.
270
Event Horizon 1997,  R)
Event Horizon
Event Horizon owes a lot to previous sci-fi horror/thrillers, the general idea of the movie is nothing new but with the added gore along with the stable lost at space story it manages to keep going without struggling. A good cast but they dont help the anti-climactic finish.

Sienna Miller once again shows she can act, the story might not be as heavy as it could have been but that is in part down to the lack of any depth in the real Edie Sedgwick. WIth the material she is given she does ral well and works well off the impressive and supurbly cast Guy Pearce.

Failure to Launch 2006,  PG-13)
Failure to Launch
Failure To Launch = Failure To Work. Possible due to watched such a short time after How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days but FTL doesnt work as well by any means. There is a lack of chemistry and personally i am not a fan of Sarah Jessica Parker and i feel she isthe weak link. Zooey Deschanel is criminallt underused but what she is given she works well with.

Fame is another excellent movie from the 80s, telling the tale of growth, development and understanding of around 10 of New York City High School for the Performing Arts. 2 Fast 2 Furious 2003,  PG-13)
2 Fast 2 Furious
Although enjoyable it doesnt quite carry on the whole focus on the cars they seem to be secondary behind the leads and Walkers budding romance with Mendes. There are some cracking examples of tasty yank cars but after the first 10 minutes it goes downhill. Not a shade on the first one but i do like Ludacris and Devon Aoki

Fast Times At Ridgemont High 1982,  R)
Fast Times At Ridgemont High

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas 1998,  R)
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
En excellent movie from Terry Gilliam his adaptation of Hunter S. Thompson's novel has to be one the most striking movies of recent times. The performances are supurb and completley perfect casting. The visuals in this movie along with the acting are the strenghts a movie my eyes watched wide open all through truley supurb.

50 First Dates 2004,  PG-13)
50 First Dates
Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore have so much on-screen chemistry that if they are together its highly likely its gonna work. Teaming them in comedy about a woman with a short term memory opens up for plenty of laughs but also alot of emotion. At times the story is so sad but its sweet with it, a really enjoyable movie.
298
Fight Club 1999,  R)
Fight Club
Fight Club is brutal film showing the mundane day to day life of the club but with a twist that you dont see coming at all. A great cast and typical excellent directing from David Fincher are all contributing factors that go into making this one of the freshest flicks in a long time.
299
Final Destination 2000,  R)
Final Destination
When this came out to me it stood head and shoulders over most other relases at the time. It was a teen horror but it was completly original, well wrote a good cast all round a really enjoyable flick. One thing that does let it down it the fact it lacks a strong soundtrack.

The Fog
Real let down not a shade on the original not much happens and is really not at all creepy or frightening.
311
The Football Factory 2004,  R)
The Football Factory
Called Football Factory the actually football content is less than minimal it is more about the needing to belong to something than what they are actually belong to. Typical Nick Love movie in the sense that the emotions are burried and the strong violent top is put on unfortunatly.

The 40 Year Old Virgin 2005,  R)
The 40 Year Old Virgin
One of the best examples of modern comedy, its both crude and very touching. It has genuinely funny moment and proves Steve Carell is a leading man who can really do a great job at comedy acting, A wicked supporting cast and great script alll adds up to = awesome. I love the Age of Aquarius ending too!

Four Brothers 2005,  R)

Four Dogs Playing Poker 2000,  R)
Four Dogs Playing Poker
Bought Four Dogs two years ago on DVD but it took me ages to get round to seeing it, i have to say i really enjoyed it. It might not be the most original movie oreven the best acted movie but it keeps your attention and delivers a good overall story. The final twist you can see coming amileo ff but just forget that and enjoy.
318
The Four Feathers 2002,  PG-13)
319
Frankenstein 2004,  Unrated)
Frankenstein
The idea of carrying the Frankenstein idea forward and into modern times is a good one, it's worked for Dracula and Werewolves so why not give the bit peice monster a chance. However this is not the way to do it, Frankenstein is a dull, slow and pointless exercise the story is patchy and swept over and the ending was just a waste. A typical straight to DVD movie very like mid 90s pap.

Friday the 13th Part 2 1981,  R)
Friday the 13th Part 2
My fav of the Friday 13th saga, the introduction of the legendary character Jason Voorhees. A good old fashion slash 'em up movie.
328
Friday the 13th Part 3 1982,  R)
Friday the 13th Part 3
Same formula as the whole saga but what can i say i love Jason Voorhees. This movies keeps the standard uo there with plenty of gore.

Friday the 13th - The Final Chapter 1984,  R)
Friday the 13th - The Final Chapter
Another slash happy movie from Jason Voorhees, The start of the Jason vs Tommy Jarvis battle with Corey Feldman playing the first installment of Tommy. If you enjoy the others you'll love this.

Friday the 13th, Part VI - Jason Lives 1986,  R)
Friday the 13th, Part VI - Jason Lives
Another outing for the most prolific movie serial killer in history. He slashes his way through more unsuspecting teens in typical fashion and the movie as a whole doesnt disappoint.
332
Friday the 13th Part VII - The New Blood 1988,  R)
Friday the 13th Part VII - The New Blood
Another Fridy another Jason. The New Blood introduces us to the best Jason so far in Kane Hodder and long may he reign.

Friday the 13th Part VIII - Jason Takes Manhattan 1989,  R)
Friday the 13th Part VIII - Jason Takes Manhattan
All i can say is what a terrible ending Jason as a kid oh my god. Other than that its refreshing to see Jason slash his way through somewhere other than Crystal Lake.
334
Jason Goes to Hell - The Final Friday 1993,  R)
Jason Goes to Hell - The Final Friday
With a new company owning the rights the the franchsise they decide the freshen up the series. In my mind this was a bad idea as this movie wasnt really up to scratch and had a real bad storyline.
335
Jason X 2001,  R)
Jason X
This is a hell of a lot better than i expected does a good job of splicing the sci-fi genre and the horror genre.
336

Freddy vs. Jason
Great. Wicked to see Jason & Freddy together. A horror with good humour aswell
337
From Dusk Till Dawn 1996,  R)
From Dusk Till Dawn
From Dusk Till Dawn is one of my favourite movies and also one of the best vampire flicks around. I remember the first time i saw it i didnt knwo bou the vampires so it came as a massive twist, two different movie the criminal/road movie then all of a sudden vampires everywhere. A great cast who all do awesome and Clooney sheds his ER personna instantly.
338
From Dusk Till Dawn 2: Texas Blood Money 1998,  R)
From Dusk Till Dawn 2: Texas Blood Money
Nowhere near as good as the First From Dusk Till Dawn but its good fun when its not trying too hard. The director tries to many fancy camera angles and work which fails to pay of and annoys. The cast bar Robert Patrick is average, nice cameo from Bruce Campbell tho.
339
From Dusk Till Dawn 3: The Hangman's Daughter 1999,  R)
From Dusk Till Dawn 3: The Hangman's Daughter
Please do not carry on making these as this is as bad as we can let them get. The Hangman's Daughter although maybe giving certain clues to the history of The Titty Twister is wholely unneeded. The story is weak the acting terrible in places and the whole feel is just cheap. The first was a classic this is trash.
340
From Hell 2001,  R)
From Hell
An enjoyable take on the Jack The Ripper tale, Depp & Graham put on their dodgey Cockney accents and offer up a fun but not to gritty performance. As noted in the review it is visually strong but lacks the depth of the terror and grit but an enjoybale watch none the less.

Full Metal Jacket 1987,  R)
Full Metal Jacket
With Full Metal Jacket Stanley Kubrick created two of the most memorable characters in movie history, Private Pyle and Sgt. Hartman both performances of these were outstanding and they effected you during the movie. The fact the movie is split in two with the training and the war also works very well.

Gangs of New York 2002,  R)
Gangs of New York
Spot On! An awesome movie, although not a typical Scorsese in terms of sets etc its still fits into his timeline of New York flicks. The acting is great, directing perfect, well scripted, very well cast just a whole heartedly spectacular film.
348
Garden State 2004,  R)
Garden State
Zach Braff shows there is more to him than simply an actor who perfects innocent goofiness. This movie is really well written and the story moves at a perfect pace. Natalie Portman's role is almost like a follow on from her earlier film role in Beautiful Girls.
349
Gerry 2002,  R)
Gerry
Gerry is visually beautiful, long flowing effective shots accompanied by suited music. The plus of the above has been the cause of much sacrifce in the acting department. Because of the surrounds and how its shot you are detacthed from the charcters and they never seen to portray any desperation. The later scenes dont initally hit you until you stop and think. Typical Van Sant movie.

363
Gladiator 2000,  R)
Gladiator
What can you say about Gladiator that hasn't been said before? It's one of these rare films where evryone and everything just comes together so perfectly. The acting is of high quality from Crowe, Phoenix, Neilsen etc and the direction is spot on. Cinematography and SPX make this a classic with beautiful scenes which help pack the movie out. A modern classic and faultless picture.
364
Glengarry Glen Ross 1992,  R)
Glengarry Glen Ross
Well acted but not exactly gripping. A movie that doesnt really have much happen but the characters and acting make it worth a watch for sure.
365
Glory 1989,  R)
366
Go 1999,  R)
Go
Go works for so many reasons it takes a tried and tested formula - the point of view story - puts a good cast to work with the story and then to add to it Doug Liman directs it spot on. The story is great it has action and a lot of laughs it also has teen elements and dramatic parts too the cast work it to a tee.
367
The Godfather 1972,  R)
The Godfather
A true masterpiece, outstanding cast and director produce one of the fineest films to ever be made. Al Pacino steals the show as the ever evolving Michael, James Caan & Marlon Brando put in excellent roles altho feel like smaller supporting roles to Pacino's

Godzilla 1998,  PG-13)
Godzilla
I really enjoy this movie and ithink it is an excellent example of a creature feature. If you ignore the cost of the movie everything fits, a cast with no major star, effects which at times arnt amazing a humourous script. Hugly underated for what it is it is cheese and workswell with it.
372
GoldenEye 1995,  PG-13)
373
Goldfinger 1964,  PG)
Goldfinger
The ultimate James Bond movie and it will never be bettered, it just goes to show that you dont need all the special effects the new ones fill with. Watched o nthe big screen as part of Radio 1's Big Movie Weekend added a whole new perspective and i can say for sure it suits the big scrreen.
374
Gone in 60 Seconds (Gone in Sixty Seconds) 2000,  PG-13)
375
Good Night, And Good Luck 2005,  PG)
Good Night, And Good Luck
Once again George Clooney impresses me with hisdirecting, well cast and supurbly acted most notably David Strathairn. Suits the B&W filming and the whole tone of the movie works so well.
376
The Good Shepherd 2006,  R)
377
Good Will Hunting 1997,  R)
Good Will Hunting
Robn Williams totally steals the show here, his performance is far and away the best of his career, the connection between his and Matt Damon's characters is truley believable. The main suprise here for me was Affleck and Damons screenplay which was written so well and the story was one which will stick in my mind for along time.
378
GoodFellas 1990,  R)
GoodFellas
Another Scorsese classic, all the hallmarks of a Scorsese movie great cast, great soundtrack, great acting and amazing directing. Paul Sorvino is underated for his role in this movie very good performance.

Goya's Ghosts 2006,  R)
Goya's Ghosts
Goya's Ghosts is an interesting historical movie because it doesn;t actually focus on the title character more so on the figures he paints. Once they pose for him they become one of the Ghosts in the filsm titles. Strong performances from Javier Bardem and Natalie Portman and Stellen Skarsgard puts in a good performance for the time he's on camera.
383
The Graduate 1967,  PG)
The Graduate
I'm going to be controversial now but i was highly disappointed with The Graduate i thought the story was slow and boring and i wasnt overly impressed by the acting. Not a whole lot was asked of the cast it seems. I tried but really could not see where all the rave reviews were coming from. The most disappointing classic? Just maybe.
384
Grand Theft Auto 1977,  PG)
385
Grand Theft Parsons 2003,  PG-13)
Grand Theft Parsons
Grand Theft Parsons is based on a great touching and sometimes bizarre story of one mans quest to uphold a promnise he made to a dead friend. Despite many peoples view i think the casting is great, Johnny Knoxville shows he can actually and that he has long term asperations beyond Jackass. Michael Shannon adds a majority of the funny scenes and Robert Forster, Marley Shelton and Christina Applegate offer good small supporting roles also.
386
Grease 1978,  PG)
387
Gremlins 1984,  PG)
Gremlins
An absoloute classone of my favourite movies ever and a stand out in 80s popcorn movies. It has everything a toungue in cheek horror movie need, most notably an awesome bad guy or in this case bad Gremlins. I cant review this without mentioning Danny Elfman's classic theme which is also one of my fav themes ever.
388
Grosse Pointe Blank 1997,  R)
Grosse Pointe Blank
One of my favorite movies, it's what made me aware of John Cusack. Both Cusack and Minnie Driver are supurb in this black comedy which is a well written original idea. A good supporting cast and an excellent soundtrack also help this movie.

I bought this purely based on the trailer, this made it look like a quiet gem of a black comedy. However after watching it was not what i expected at all, a slight let down and not so much comedybut well acted and the story line keps you engrosed.
394
Hackers 1995,  PG-13)
395
Hairspray 2007,  PG)
Hairspray
Such an enjoyable movie, the music was great great songs and well performed by all involved. I think the casting was spot on from the leads right down to the smallest supporting roles. I sat in the theatre with a chessy grin on my face all through :)
396
Half Nelson 2006,  R)
Half Nelson
Half Nelson very much so reminded me on Lost In Translation, two very different characters who come together through a mutual need of being accepted and helped. Throughout the movie they are seen to accept each other then accept the wrong and then rescue each other. The performance from Ryan Gosling and Shareeka Epps are perfect and they work so well together. Such a well made film and one i recommend for sure.
397
Halloween 1978,  R)
Halloween
To start the franchise off this movie does a really good job of setting it all up, it seems like this was made with every intention of several sequals to follow. Quite possibly the best movie theme tune ever penned wonderful and earie.

Red Dragon 2002,  R)
Red Dragon
A lot better than i expected, to follow on from Hannibal the film had to be a bit less far fetched. Anthony Hopkins has had enough practise with this role so along with Emily Watson he puts in a good performance. The two let downs i felt were Ralph Fiennes and Edward Norton (who i feel makes bad choices every now and then).

410
Harvard Man 2001,  R)
411
Heat 1995,  R)
Heat
Michael Mann's best piece of work by far, and this is helped in evey way by the amazing cast he assembled for Heat. You find yourself pulling for the bad guy in this as he seems more assured and level headed which suprised me.
412
Heathers 1988,  R)
Heathers
I like a reference i read saying that Heathers is the original Mean Girls, this is so true. However Heathers has the real 80sw dark comedy feel that Mean Girls doesn't go for. The performances are typical of the era and the cast is also, 80s teen movies were a force to be reckened wth and Heathers is up there forsure.
413
Heaven & Earth 1993,  R)
Heaven & Earth
I think this to me may well be the strongest of the trilogy, the first from the point of view of a Vietnamese national. Haing S. Ngor puts in a truley great performance following her over a large period of time containing some of the most harrowing experince possible. Tommy Lee Jones offers up a good performance in an extended cameo but i feel somewhat he isn't right forthe role.
414
Hell Drivers (Hard Drivers) 1957,  Unrated)
415
Hellboy 2004,  PG-13)
Hellboy
Another comic book adaptation brings Hellboy to the big screen. The positives of this are the fact that the storyline feature a bit more of an adult background ala Hitler and Rasputin. Also the fact that the leads are all taken by predominatly supporting actors is great.
416
Hero 2002,  PG-13)
Hero
Hero was not really my cup of tea, i appreciate the striking beauty of it and the way its shot but the story just doesn't captivate me at all. I found it to be slow and quite tedious, Jet Li is good at what he does but Hero never really needs much from him, it just flows along until it runs out.

This is a rare horror movie as it does what it says on the tin. It truley is sick and gruesome in places it delivers gore and depravity well. A good remake for the gorenography generation.

The Hitcher 2007,  R)
The Hitcher
A remake of an already good movie, this promised alot with the perfect casting of Sean Bean as the Hitcher. On a whole the movie was good still not quite as good as the original it lacked the darkness and Sean Bean wasnt allowed enough time. Over all a good watch tho.
426
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy 2005,  PG)
427
The Hoax 2007,  R)
The Hoax
Based on a great story The Hoax is prime pickings for a Hollywood movie. Richard Gere - who seems to be in his strongest acting run - stars as Clifford Irving and pulls it off well, i felt slightly let down by Alfred Molina's role and how it was played but still a god movie. Reminded me of Blow in its pace and how it panned out, could have been slicker but worked well.
428
Holes 2003,  PG)
429
Hollow Man 2000,  R)
430
Hollywoodland 2006,  R)
Hollywoodland
One of Ben Afflecks best roles and definatly his best from recent years, his portrayal of George Reeves is spot on and shows him in a whole new light. I didnt like the Adrien Brody storyline as much as following Affleck and the lead up to his death. The ever dependable Bob Hoskins offers a great support as always as do the various smaller roles.
431
Honest 2000,  R)
Honest
Honest is not the worst movie you are going to see but its also not the best movie you will ever see. TThere is a decent storyline but the script is very weak, i wont slag of the acting as to be 'honest' they do pretty well. They deal with all the needless scenes and come out with enough to hold their heads up.

Honeymoon in Vegas 1992,  PG-13)

Hostel 2006,  R)
Hostel
Hostel is a good fun goreo movie which creates a new idea for the multiple death genre. I must admit i dont agree with all these people that say its sick and nasty it really isnt that bad. But it is good fun to watch and there are some cool ways to kill. Would any of you try this???

House of 1000 Corpses 2002,  R)
House of 1000 Corpses
House of 1,000 Corpses is a good starting point for Rob Zombie, it isn't by any means a classic but there is a lot to build on. The direction suits the style of movie and the flashing images cut into the movie work well bringing a touch of Texas CSM updated to it. Captain Spalding is a great character and was gladto see more of him in The Devil's Rejects.

House on Haunted Hill 1999,  R)
House on Haunted Hill
One of my favourite horror movies inspired by the legendary Vincent Price's original this take it one step further and camps it up twice as much. Although not trying to invent take on horros this is good fun there are good deaths plenty of gore and a good cast. Geoffrey Rush is again wonderful filling an over the top role.
444
Hulk 2003,  PG-13)
445
Human Traffic 1999,  R)
Human Traffic
Following in the hype of Trainspotting this flick just doesnt match up to it on any level. Altho an OK movie this movie doesnt really have any story to it, nothing really happens. Good OST tho.
446
Hurlyburly 1998,  R)
447
I Am Sam 2001,  PG-13)
I Am Sam
I Am Sam is out there to play with you emotionally, the subject matter is some thing not reallytouched by Hollywood before and it brings the best out of Sean Penn who is lovable but beleiveable as well as Dakota Faning who for her age is a great actress and you can see why she has made it in the business. Pfeiffer is good but is on autodrive for a majority of the film.
448
I Heart Huckabees 2004,  R)
I Heart Huckabees
Genious movie, original and thought provoking plus perfectly cast
449
I Know What You Did Last Summer 1997,  R)
I Know What You Did Last Summer
I Know... is one of the early examples of how a slasher movie should be, it ticks all the boxes and follows all the rules (see Scream). A good story with a good cast and a great soundtrack, as soon as it was made you knew there would be a sequal, its a great movie and will keep you guessing all the way through.
450
I Still Know What You Did Last Summer 1998,  R)
I Still Know What You Did Last Summer
I Still Know... is not quite upto the first movie but still packs a weighty slasher punch, theres all you need there a good soundtrack, a good killer, twists plenty of killings and blood. It starts slowly with the build up to the big island showdown where mayhem breaks out.

The Ice Harvest 2005,  R)
The Ice Harvest
A typical Cusack character, usually equals an good movie and it doesnt disappoint. Itmay well not be his best but a good watch still.
453
Identity 2003,  R)
Identity
Identity can boast a cast to shout about which helps this flick work as you don't know which star is going to be killed of next. The continual downfall helps set the scene and what is offered works really well.
454
Idlewild 2006,  R)
Idlewild
Suprisingly good performances from both Andre Benjamin and Antwan A. Patton, i think with a more meaty story they could excel. The story here cannot make its mind up if it is to be main focus or sit behind the musical element. Some real nice touches in there including the cuckoo clocks and the animated hip flask.

Independence Day
Despite all the big SFX and all star cast this movie lacks depth big time. Their are no characters you bond with and you honestly couldnt care if everyone dies the only one who even makes an effort is Jeff Goldblum pulling his Jurassic Parkesque character out again.

Rory O'Shea Was Here (Inside I'm Dancing) 2004,  R)
Rory O'Shea Was Here (Inside I'm Dancing)
I have to say Inside I'm Dancing was a really enjoyable movie but also a really emotional movie. Despite what many reviewers said that because of the casting of able bodied actors inthe main roles it looses some of its clout but i have to disagree i think they do great in their roles. A great story of development an growth and overall a top movie.

Into the Blue 2005,  PG-13)
Into the Blue
John Stockwell goes back to the water after Blue Crush however Into The Blue is nowhere near as strong as Blue Crush. This comes across as an attractive movie, Alba looking hot and Walker for the girlies but story wise its jumping all over the place. Notable bad guy role for Josh Brolin who seems to be fillign these roles more frequently.
469
Intolerable Cruelty 2003,  PG-13)
Intolerable Cruelty
The first time i saw Intolerable Cruelty i just didnt get it, i thought it was flat and uninspried. I deceided it wasnt fair to judge on just one viewing and after a second i loved it, i read a review comparing it to Hollywood of old and i agree totally its pitch perfect and a well played gem. Even CZJ plays well in it!
470
The Iron Giant 1999,  PG)

The Island 2005,  PG-13)
The Island
The Island is not Michael Bay at his best but more like on cruise control. He has a very good cast of actors who are better than this, the story is pretty basic but enough to keep you viewing. The action scenes are pretty decent but nothing we havent seen before and nothing mind blowing. Have to add Scarett Johansson looks hot as tho.

It Could Happen to You 1994,  PG)
473
It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World 1963,  G)
It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World
So much squashed into this movie, the massive array of talented actors, the continual hiliarious moments all broken up to each charcter but minggled togther so well. This genre has been tried hundreds of times this is one of the stand out one.

The Jackal 1997,  R)
The Jackal
If you ignore Richard Gere's terrible Irish accent and concentrate on the action in this movie, there is plenty for you to enjoy not as good as Day Of The Jackal but then again this is a dumbed down Yankie action flick version.
477
The Jacket 2005,  R)
478
Jackie Brown 1997,  R)
Jackie Brown
I'm going to go against the grain and say that Jackie Brown is the best Tarantino movie and one of my favourite fullstop. The story is so good thanks again to Elmore Leonard. The casting is superb and each star brings their role to life and just makes the film feel perfect. You also cannot forget the typical Tarantino awesome soundtrack.
479
Jacknife 1989,  R)
480
Jarhead 2005,  R)
Jarhead
Wicked movie Sam Mendes carries on with his assult on the film industry. Jarhead is both visually stunning and well acted combining to make one of the best war flicks in recent times. Jake Gyllenhaal and Peter Sarsgaard are excellent in their roles two thumbs up.
481
Jawbreaker 1999,  R)
Jawbreaker
OK story but drags towards the end.
482
Jaws 1975,  PG)
Jaws
A true classic, Spielberg at his best. Jaws is perfect in every way from the great cast to the score and the build up and feel of the movie. Robert Shaw puts in a career best performance and Scheider and Dreyfuss do great jobs too. Quint is a legendary character and its all down to Shaw.
483
Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back 2001,  R)
484
Jeepers Creepers 2001,  R)
Jeepers Creepers
A really good low budget horror, with a good ending for a change
485
Jeepers Creepers 2 2003,  R)
Jeepers Creepers 2
A good follow up to sleeper hit. Bit more teeny what with the school bus angle but follows all the rules it shud and produces a fun movie.
486
Jennifer 8 (Jennifer Eight) 1992,  R)
487
JFK 1992,  R)
JFK
Oliver Stone at his best in this personal take on the events of leading upto and following the JFK assasination. Kevin Costner puts in a great performance capped with his final courtroom speech. A great cast take you through a journey of possibility.
488
Joyride 1997,  R)
489
Junebug 2005,  R)
Junebug
Junebug reminded me of the uncomfortable feelings in Elizabethtown but without the outright humour and development. I also found the characters in Junebug harder to like, barring Amy Adams lovable scene stealer. Ultimatly it doesnt really go anywhere depsite it appearing to the charatcers kinda swirl around in a little pond but never change fully.
490
Jurassic Park 1993,  PG-13)
Jurassic Park
A blockbuster that doesnt actually disappoint great story well adapted. The acting is good and its a fast packed movie too. Good cast generally muich better than the follow ups.
491
The Lost World - Jurassic Park 1997,  PG-13)
The Lost World - Jurassic Park
After the sucess of the first it was inevitable that a sequal came and this doesnt disappoint. Lost World follows on from the first creating tension building action a lot of fun and once again a quaility cast.

L.A. Confidential 1997,  R)
L.A. Confidential
Curtis Hanson will have a hard time bettering this! LA Confidential is a beautiful movie the shots, the camera work, the acting it all goes so well and fits perfectly. Strong acting performances from Pearce, Crowe, Spacey et al. A true modern classic.
505
Ladder 49 2004,  PG-13)
Ladder 49
Ladder 49 isnt a shade on Backdraft which to me is the stand out fire related movie well bar The Towering Inferno. This movie focuses on the life of Phoenix' character more so than the life of a fire crew. There isnt masses of action but there is a few deaths and some loveing etc. It is sad in places but give me Backdraft instead.

Lake Placid 1999,  R)

The Laramie Project 2001,  R)
The Laramie Project
The Laramie Project worked really well for me, mixing actual interview footage with acted scenes sounds risky but they get the perfect mix here. The talent on the acting side is of a high level and every body puts in strong performances. The story itself is a harsh one but one that needs telling and its handled very well.
510
Last Days 2005,  PG-13)
511
The Last Days of Frankie the Fly 1997,  R)
512
The Last House on the Left 1972,  R)
The Last House on the Left
The Last House On The Left brings European old skool horror thrillers to America and does it well, algtho it may seem dated now look past that and there is a great movie. The story is dark and twisted and the content is effective, the cast do really well with the material, i just dred the remake making a hash of it.
513
The Last Kiss 2006,  R)
The Last Kiss
This movie really spoke out to me i found the whole peice very well acted and written. There was something going on at all times and you were left genuinly wondering what would happen next. The ending was good as you were assurec of anything.
514
Last Man Standing 1996,  R)
Last Man Standing
Last Man Standing is an all out action western, the action is OTT the gunfights OTT but that is what is called for, it's got a story and its a good one which works well and gives you more than just the braindead action. Bruce Willis in a role made for him is backed up by a strong supporting cast who have to take a back seat to Willis, would have been nice to see more of Walken's character though.

Late Night Shopping 2001,  Unrated)
Late Night Shopping
Late Night Shopping is a gem of a British movie, a little movie with a lot to offer. It's cast really well with each character fitting the star perfectly. The story is not mind blowing but is clever and funny as well as touching and heart felt. One of my favourite British movies of all time and one i recommend to anyone and everyone.
519
Laurel Canyon 2002,  R)
520
Layer Cake 2004,  R)
Layer Cake
I waited a long time to see this, and on the whole was not disappointed, well directed, well written, and generally wel lacted. Daniel Craig isnt a Bond but he can pull off this role, Colm Meaney with another goodsupporting role.

525
Legend 1986,  PG)
Legend
Legend is a major let down, it follows iin the footsteps of Labarynth and Willow ... but is nowhere near as impressive as either of them. The story is traditional but dull it isnt presented very very and gets pushed behind the scenery and look of thw movie. Tom Cruise' wooden acting is another put off just making it hard to watch at times.
526
Léon (The Professional) 1994,  R)
Léon (The Professional)
Excellent performances from Jean Reno, Natalie Portman and Gary Oldman, will probably be the best performance Reno gives in film. Typical Luc Besson movie really well shot, good story and well scripted.

The Longest Yard 2005,  PG-13)

The Lookout 2007,  R)
The Lookout
Joseph Gordon-Levitt is one of if not the most under rated actor around since his 3rd Rock days he has continued to star in many a great movie and his performances are never a let down. Another strng performance in The Lookout a great thriller with a twist that makes it unique. Can't wprk out how it got into the UK under the radar tho.
542
The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring 2001,  PG-13)
The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring
The Fellowship of The Rings is essentially a road movie without a physical road. It sets the cene for the two follwoing movies. We are introduced to the characters and learn the basis of the trilogy. The performances are good and not over the top the score is excellent and the direction spot on.
543
The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers 2002,  PG-13)
The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers
The second installment The Two Towers reunites us with the characters of the first as we continue our journey to destroy the ring. There is no different feel to the movie but The Two Towers take the form of a war movie or a battle movie anyway. Same performances, direction, etc as the first.
544
The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King 2003,  PG-13)
The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King
The final chapter in LOTR triology closes all storylines and finishes of the journey to destroy the ring. Now despite its Oscar win it is no Oscar movie it got it as a reward for the sheer size of the whole project. Very much like the first two and a fitting conclusion to the saga.
545
Lord of War 2005,  R)
Lord of War
A really enjoyable action flick, however it lacks the emotional depth and because of this you dont connect with the characters. A good cast and an awesome idea could have been done better but, it captures the evil and obviously carefree lifestyle of a gun trader.
546
Lords of Dogtown 2005,  PG-13)
547
Loser 2003,  PG-13)
Loser
A good teen flick doesnt vary much from the set structures but offers what it does well. A good soundtrack and a good cast including many notable cameos (David Spade, Andy Dick etc).

Mallrats
What doe slackers in middle America get upto on a daily basis? They become Mallrats! Kevin Smith carries on his romance angles and carries on the progrssion of the charcters involved. Jason Lee seems totally in tune with Smith's script and direction and this is the majot plus point. Good fun movie!

Marie Antoinette 2006,  PG-13)
Marie Antoinette
Directed by Sofia Coppola, Starrring Kirsten Dunst and Jason Swartzman this movie held so much promise. Sadly the movie was boring and hardwork, the story was good but badly scripted, shot well but the acting was not up to standard - barring what little we saw of Steve Coogan.

I used to love the animated series of He-Man and its been a while since i last saw this movie, i remember it being cheesy fun. Having watched this again i stiull think its cheesy but it now stinks like big time cheese. The acting is terrible the action embarassing, i am let down by what they made with such a good idea.

Mayor of the Sunset Strip 2003,  R)
Mayor of the Sunset Strip
This movie is a sad tale about how someone who was a name because of the people he hung around with in the 70s has become a sad lonely obscure late night radio DJ with very little going for him. A sad collection of people surrounded by hsots of musicians past and present.
574
Me, Myself & Irene 2000,  R)
Me, Myself & Irene
Another wll written comedy hit from the Farrelly Brothers, I am not usually a Jim Carrey fan but if he has well written material to work from he always puts in a good performance.
575
Me and You and Everyone We Know 2004,  R)
Me and You and Everyone We Know
In You & Me & Everyone We Know a whole community is focussed on, the film picks up on there interactions and they're wants and needs to be a part of something. It offers some really good performances from stars you don;t usually see in anything more than supporting roles John Hawkes in particular stood out to me but the script and the ensamble cast worked so well they all deserve credit.
576
Me Without You 2001,  R)
577
Mean Girls 2004,  PG-13)
Mean Girls
This is a good stand out teen movie, it has good performances a gritty story line and is shot well. Lindsay Lohan fits the role well as does Rachel McAdams generally a good movie all round.
578
Mean Machine 2001,  R)
579
Mean Streets 1973,  R)
Mean Streets
Where it all began, Mean Streets is where Scorsese began, its where DeNiro began its a classic. It's a lot more basic alot more raw than his latter offering but still contains the same sort of material. Plenty of focus on the relationships and actions of real people in the underbelly of America. Keitel and DeNiro are great in their roles signs of waht was to come for sure.

Million Dollar Baby
I cannot understand why this movie won best picture at the Oscars, the movie doesnt really show any real content until the last half hour. The acting like this doesnt really call for anyhting special till late on, the direction is smoothe but not Oscar worthy.
595
The Outpost (Wes Craven's The Mindripper) (Mind Ripper) 1995,  R)
The Outpost (Wes Craven's The Mindripper) (Mind Ripper)
I remember watching Mind Ripper way back when it had its UK TV premiere and i really enjoyed it. Fast forward a decade im now 26 and i saw the DVD for £2, i brought it and preceeded to watch. The acting hasn't really stood the test of time and is cardboard at times but overall its a fun easy to watch horror flick.
596
Mindhunters 2005,  R)
Mindhunters
I suprisingly really enjoyed this movie, wasnt anything new but it worked well and for a change the killer wasnt obvious from an early point.
597
Mini's First Time 2006,  R)
Mini's First Time
Although this movie was not original it was done well and the cast gave it a different take. Alec Baldwin shone as he always does nowadays in his role and Nikki Reed looked hot as. Luke Wilson didn't seem to put anything into the movie tho which disappointed.

Minority Report 2002,  PG-13)
599
The Mission 1986,  PG)
600
Mission Impossible 1996,  PG-13)
Mission Impossible
Mission: Impossible get a lot of negative coverage for having a storyline that was too complicated to follow, i didn;t see that at all. I don't think it wourked to well because Tom Cruise tried to push the character to the max which i don't think suits either Cruise or Hunt. A good cast nut not many of them get much screen time what with having to fight from behind Cruise.
601
Mission Impossible 2 2000,  PG-13)
Mission Impossible 2
MI2 seriously dumbs down the concept of the first movie and it feels the effects of this big time. The movie is just another way to inflate the already massive ego of Tom Cruise the Ethan Hunt role seems to make him unbeatable unshootable and simply superhuman, a thousand shots fired at him he shoots one and kills the guy this is terrible cheesy action.
602
Mission: Impossible III 2006,  PG-13)
Mission: Impossible III
Same old same old, nothing that impressive. If this franchise is to continue they need to think of a new original concept for storyline.
603

Moonraker 1979,  PG)
Moonraker
Good to see Jaws back by far one of the best bad villans ever, underused in my eyes. Story wise its same winning formula Roger Moore seems to have fun again.
610
Moulin Rouge! 2001,  PG-13)
Moulin Rouge!
Baz Luhrmann's Moulin Rouge does'nt quite have the spark that Romeo + Juliet had but its works well none the less. All actors excell when it comes to the singong and the acting isnt brushed aside for the music either. Ewan shows what a voice he has this made me go see him in Guys & Dolls on the stage.
611
Mr. & Mrs. Smith 2005,  PG-13)
612
Mulholland Drive 2001,  R)
Mulholland Drive
In typical David Lynch style Mulholland Drive packs a certain amount of twists, turns, and places to get lost or confused. There a several storylines which all intertwine and effect each other throughout. The performances are really good, and you do find yourself gettinginto it despite the apparent complications.
613
The Mummy Returns 2001,  PG-13)
The Mummy Returns
The Mummy Returns is proof that if you put all your thoughts into CGI adventure and ignore the acting, script and plot you are destined to make a duff movie. The Mummy Returns is uncreative, unfunny and overall a boring rehash of the first one, i also have to mention how bad the CGI effects are considering that's what it mainly contains.

Mysterious Skin
Amazing performances in this movie, Joseph Gordon-Levitt is fast becoming an actor to follow with his recent ventures. The story is good but somewhat predicatble but that does not tare away from the fact this is a aewell directed and well acted peice.
623
Mystery Men 1999,  PG-13)
Mystery Men
A dissapointment with a cast like this you'd expect a hell of a lot more where as the just fails to live upto that. The script is dull and doesn't really work as a full on comedy. I'd prefer to watch a true superhero movie anyday.
