The 40 Year Old Virgin 2005,  R)
The 40 Year Old Virgin
The story is about a 40 year old virgin Andy Stitzer (Steve Carrell). Andy is a simple guy who works for an electronic shop. He has lots of comic books and action figures collection. The only thing that this guy is missing is not having sex!!. Yes he is at 40 and still virgin. His friends discover this and their new mission is to get the guy into some action. Andy agrees but gets into trouble and some not so good situations until one day he meets Trish (Catherine Keener) who is 40 year old as well but a mother of 3. They like each other and start dating. However they start the relationship agreeing not to have sex until they have had 20 dates.

The Good Stuff:
- Comedy: The comic situations are fun to watch specially the idea of the 40 year old virgin and how he reacts to his friends suggestions. There are many jokes and laughs in the movie that keep you entertained.
- Acting: Good performance by Steve Carrell as the 40 year old virgin. The way he talked, walked, dressed suited the character 100%.
- Music was nice too and made a good combination with the movie theme.

The Neutral Stuff:
- Few of the jokes might be offensive to some people, hence the movie cannot be recommended to everybody.

The Bad Stuff:
- The first quarter of the movie was flat and quite and then the movie starts to pick up. I guess it was the director's intention to make the audiences familiar with the different characters and specially Andy's character.

Some Interesting Facts:
- The movie was made on a budget of $26M and it generated revenues over $177M worldwide.
- The store named "We Sell Your Stuff on eBay" is a real store. It has been added to the script after the crew has chosen the location.

A Cool Quote:
"When I was growing pot, I realized that the more seeds I planted, the more pot I could ultimately smoke."

I would recommend the movie to open minded people but in case you think that you might be offended by some of the jokes and scenes then you better stay away.

Final Verdict: Highly Recommended

American Pie 2
The fun continues with the second installment in the American Pie franchise. The entire group of friends get together again for the summer in a beach house giving parties and having fun. The same funny characters and the same hilarious situations. Doesnt dissapoint.

The major fun characters in American Pie 2 are:
- Jim: He continues to have everything the wrong way. if in American Pie 1 he was masturbating in a pie now this time you will see him using a superglue instead of a lubricant!!!

- Jim's Dad: Continues to be funny with super funny statements and advises to his beloved son

- Stifler: Sean William Scott has played his part very well. He was completely fun to watch.

- Michelle: A nice comic character that continues to help Jim with his sexual fantasies.

If you are fan of teen movies and you liked American Pie then you should check this one.

What a beautiful movie. I love when the director tries to confuse the audiences here. It has been beautifully filmed from the prespectus of the the different characters. The way the main character goes from 13 year to 18 to and old woman and the way she criticized herself as being the girl who looked at the world from her own window claiming that she knows it all was really good. The cinematography was cool as well. This movie gets 80%. very very recommended.

Back to the Future
Some consider it as Sci Fi, some say it is fantasy, others say it is a comedy but Back to the Future is a mixture of all of them and they all blind into each other in a very brilliant way which makes this movie a very unique time travelling movie.

Its all about when Marty time travels from the 80s and back to 1955 when his parents were at high school and with few interferences he had to do lots of work so that he would preserve the future and protect his existance.

The acting was really good and the music was in par with the fast pace the movie had

The movie is about an insecure girl who wants to play safe. It is about relationships and how they change. How a stranger becomes fast a lover. Honestly it had few good scenes but no story at all. The overall acting was good but it doesn't make sense why the movie did not have a proper story. It is a plain dull love story which does not offer anything new yet there is the sense of warmness in few scens.

The concept of the movie was good but the story did not make any sense. Nicole Kidman was good in her role but maybe the character did not have much scope to get more out of her. The movie is very confusing. I think the director has left the full imagination for the viewer to decide whatever he thinks but once the movie is finished you would not want even to think about it. Nothing special with this movie.

Blow 2001,  R)
Blow
The movie is set in early 70s and it is basically about the rise and fall of a drug dealer. George Jung (Johnny Depp) gets into the drug business at an early stage of his life. He rejects to be like his father (Ray Liotta) who is a man of great values and who never cared for the money as he believed it is not the source of happiness. George's business gets bigger and he gets introduced to other dealers who become his friends. He gets married to Mirtha Jung (Penélope Cruz). One days his friends just cut him out and stop doing business with him so he is left alone with no business to do. George is sent to jail after a set up made by the FBI and his wife files for a divorce. George after spent few years in jail is changed. He cares for nothing but his daughter who he considers as his own heart. But will his daughter feel the same way about her father?

The Good Stuff:
- Acting: Acting specially by Johhny Depp was top notch. Not only in his acting but for his look for that role too. Johnny is very famous in working on his look and the avatar he would appear for the different roles he play in movies. Here you can see him looking differently at different stages of the character's life. Ray Liotta gave a nice performance as the caring father with solid principles in life, even though the length of the role was not that big but he made a strong presence.
- Story: The movie had a nice story and a sad ending that I liked as well. It is hard to compare it to other great films in the same genre but again that does not mean that this one is bad.
- Narration: The narration by Depp was really cool and added a positive aspect to the whole story telling and the movement of the time frame within the film.

The Neutral Stuff:
- The music: Had some nice tracks of the 70s and early 80s but the movie lacked what you call the originality in the sound department. You would hardly recognize an original music which was created for the movie itself.

The Bad Stuff:
- Sometimes at some scenes I just felt bored but that happens in lots of movies too. Not a big complain but this movie is not for everybody.

Some Interesting Facts:
- The movie is a true story of Geroge Jung. If you have the bluray or DVD you can watch footage from his interview talking about himself and how he regrets everything bad he did.
- The Blow was shot at a budget of $53M and generated around $83M at the box office.
- Rachel Griffiths who played Depp's mother is 6 years younger than him in real life!!!

Final Verdict: Highly Recommended

The Bone Collector 1999,  R)
The Bone Collector
The Bone Collector is a crime thriller. The story is about Lincoln Rhyme (Denzel Washington) who is a successful police officer and a writer of crime novels. One day Lincoln get paralyzed because of an accident. At the same time a series of murders happen in the town. Amelia Donaghy (Angelina Jolie) who is a cop too finds herself being dragged to the investigation on those murders after she finds the first victim's body. Both Lincoln and Amelia team up together to solve the mystery behind those killings. The killer always leaves some sort of bone and a puzzle for the police to confuse them and to give them a hint on what he will be doing next. Lincoln later finds out that the killer is trying to copy the murders in a crime novel called "The Bone Collector". I do not want to give much more details about the story or who the killer is as it will take the whole suspense from the movie.

There are many crime thrillers available and this movie just falls flat in that term. The movie even though it is about a serial killer and some really bad ways of murder but again it does not have the intensity you would see in movies like The Silence of the Lambs, Seven, From Hell or Zodiac. I feel that the producers in this movie tried to recreate a similar relationship between the main leads as the main leads in the Silence of the Lambs but honestly this is really far away from the great chemistry between Foster and Hopkins.

Acting wise both Angelina and Denzel were good to some extent but there were times where I felt like there was a sort of constraint in their roles. The movie lacked a complete sense of suspense in terms of cinematography and the overall atmosphere which is an essential requirement for this genre. Background music was good but again it could be better. I feel the director would have made a better job if he made the movie moves in a faster pace while maintaining the plot.

This movie was produced with a budget of $73M and it generated over $150 worldwide.

The Bonfire of the Vanities 1990,  R)
The Bonfire of the Vanities
Sherman McCoy (Tom Hanks) is a successful wallstreet broker. One day while driving with his mistress they encounter two black males in their way. Both very frightened they end up hitting by the car one of the boys. That guy gets hospitalized and goes into deep coma. Peter Fallow (Bruce Willis) an alcoholic reporter takes the opportunity to write and focus on the whole incident to save his declining career. Sherman gets arrested and is taken to the court for judgement. Now I do not want to spoil the whole story but this is the main story of Bonfire of The Vanities.

The movie was average if we are talking in terms of entertainment. Tom Hanks was really good in his role specially in the scenes where he was required to be completely frightend. Bruce Willis is good too but his role did not have much scope but I loved the way he was narrating the movie and he handled himself very well in all the scenes he appeared in.

Not much can be said about the movie. All I can say that it was just average movie with nice cast and good performances but the overall story did not have much appeal.

Boogie Nights
A unique movie about the Adult film industry in the 1970s to the 1980s. The movie is really excellent. The story is about the rise and fall of a male porn star Dirk Diggler. How he enters in the adult industry business and become a huge star. The movie is very daring in its aprroach. Has sex, drugs, violence, nudity.

Acting was super specially by Mark Whalberg and Julianne Moore. Nice cinematography and nice sets. It had the feel of late 70s and early 80s. The background music was super and kept changing according to the mood of the scene. Loved the dialogue and was very engaging in most of the scenes.

The only thing I felt was incomplete was the ending of the movie, dont know why but I felt there was something missing.

Overall Boogie Nights was a good experience and enjoyed watching it. but it is Adults only movie.

The Brave One
Now for me this movie was like a superhero movie. The female version of a superhero movie. Somehow and for no particular reason it reminded me of M Night Shaymalan's Unbreakable. Of course this is nowhere near that.

The story is about a popular radio host in New York city Erica Bain (Jodi Foster) who one night while walking with her lover they get beaten until death. Bain survives the incident and starts to take revenge randomly at whoever she faces and think is bad.

Even though Jodi Foster gave a moderately good performance but she could not save the movie from becoming boring. The movie was extremely predictable. I cannot call this a thriller but a pure drama movie that lacked many basic aspects of a drama.

The way the movie looked was just ok. But I have to give credit to the makers The Brave One for choosing the right actrress for the role. It is hard for me to think anybody else playing Erica Bain other than Foster. I'm not saying this because Foster gave excellent performance, No. What I mean that the chracter needed someone to look and sound tough and Jodi was perfectly casted here and gave those characteristics that this role demanded from her.

I cannot recommend this movie to anyone but you may want to check it if you like Foster's work, but again Foster have lots of other movies that are way better than The Brave one.

Kind of silly but never boring. I haven't seen the first one but this movie made an interesting watching. The three leads were good in their roles. It is not a rocking movie and again not bad. Just an average one with some light moments.

Very offensive, Very crude, Hilarious yet extremely enjoyable. After his successful Borat again Sacha Baron Cohen gives us this hit. One advise if you are not open minded or do not enjoy such comedies then definitely Bruno is not your cup of tea.

I enjoyed watching this low budget horror movie. it had the feeling of the 70s and 80s horrors. The idea of the virus affecting the flesh is really good. I think the director has done a good job in making and gradually changing the atmosphere of the movie from light at first to dark and disgusting.

A beautifully made movie. Good acting by the three leads. Many times Jodi Foster in her way of talking and facial features used to resemble Ingrid Bergman. I think they share what we call sharp features and abit of toughness. Both are beautiful and talented actresses. Casablanca is a warm love story during the world war and how love can justify the actions a human may take. If you are a fan of classics then you should not miss watching this movie.

Children of Men
The story of the movie is in 2027. For almost 18 years the world has not witness the birth of a child and when this finally happens it becomes something like a miracle happening. The story is about Theo (Clive Owen) who is asked by his ex lover (Julianne Moore) to help her out and escort a young pregnant woman out of the country. There they go through lots of obstacles. They face lots of difficulties until the child comes to this world.

The film showcases a very sad face of how humanity might get in the future. Lots of terror, lots of killing and murders. And the punishment for the human race for all this is to see no children anymore so it will risk the mankind existance.

The cinematography is just mindbowling in the movie. it had very intense dark atmosphere. Kind of giving you a depressing image yet you enjoy it very much. The movie itself is full of rides. Acting wise Owen was very effective as Theo and Caine was very good as Jasper. However I felt that Julianne was wasted in that small role and it was not a substantial role. I have seen this on bluray and the audio quality was super specially with lots of action and bombing going on.

Children of Men is a strong movie but I cannot recommend it to everybody specially those who are into light comedies. If you like drama action movies then I would strongly recommend this movie.

The movie has won several awards specially in the cinematography category.

Christian Slater plays a priest here as priest Clement. He is given the mission to find out and investigate when a fellow Priest is accused of murdering a young man. Later the church orders him to stop working on the case but he still continues to work in the same case with the help of a reporter because he is convinced that the accused priest is innocent.

There are many movies released with the same subject and The Confessor is not that outstanding movie in the crowd. The movie is just average nothing great about it. Has some good music going on the background. The acting can be described as plain at best. The story was moving very slow and I was about to fall sleep at some parts.

The story of the Craft is about the new girl in the town Sarah who has some inner power. She joins St. Benedict's Academy where she meets the other three famous witches. The four of them make a team representing the different elements of Magic. Together they are able to make powerfull spells where each one of them uses a certain spell for her own purposes. The friendship doesn't last much and Sarah will have a clash with them specially when she finds out that they are using the magic for bad purpose.

The film was fun to watch. Teenage friendship goes in a bad way. Don't know why is it rotten here because I personally enjoyed it. The special effects were good too. The movie has the 90s feel to it. Acting was ok and good at some scenes but again this is not a movie where you will be watching for acting but for pure entertainment.

Love magic? love witches? modern witches? then watch The Craft.

Evil Angels (A Cry in the Dark)
This movie is based on a true story that happend in Australia in the 1980s. The story is about Lindy and Michael Chamberlain who both go through nightmare of seeing a dingo (wild dog) carry off their baby and then they get accused of being murdered the child by the court and media. The press become suspicious of Lindy's strict Seventh Day Adventist religious beliefs and they begin to accuse her of murdering the baby. Despite lack of strong evidence Lindy goes to jail where she has spent over three years there for a crime she did not commit.

The story is really sad. It shows how the press and media can act false and accuse people and label them with things they are not. It also show how the media can intensifies a situation to the wrong direction for which the results would be completely unpleasant.

The movie was good. felt bored at times but overall it had a really strong message to tell. The highlight was Meryl Streep performance and it was the thing that kept me engaged all the time with the movie. It is remarkable to say that Meryl seems to be one of Hollywood's stars who spoke the maximum accents onscreen. Here it was the Australian. I really loved the court scene and they way she was answering the questions. It shows how good actress she is.

The cinematography was ok for an 80s movie. The music in the background was quite at most of the times and the main theme sounded nice.

Once again if you want to see Meryl in good form you can check out this movie. For her role in this movie she got her 8th nomination for best actress (Academy Award) and a nomination in the Golden Globe awards as best actress. She won the following awards:

- New York Film Critics Best Actress Award

Darkness Falls
A story about Matilda dixon "The Tooth fairy" and how she gets the revenge. The movie has some shock elements but not frightening. What I found interesting was the narration at the begining of the movie. Acting was average at best. not many special effects. I think the movie could get or executed better than this. Horror movies do not get good treatment usually with the exception of few ones.

In the DVD there is a footage as documentary talking about Matilda Dixon's story in Australia and how she was treated. I found that one more interesting than the movie itself and the story itself would have made a dark dramatic story if ever filmed. It is shame that the writers and director of Darkness Falls had depended less on the true events in Matilda's life and made a horror movie of her story according to their imaginations while left out the true part of it.

This movie would have been really good if it was purely on the life of Matilda rather than a horror movie scaring people of her. Perhaps someone else would think to make a drama on Matilda Dixon in the future.

Dawn of the Dead 1978,  R)
Dawn of the Dead
A classic is a simple word that describes Dawn of the Dead in the zombie genre. Many movies came out in the same genre but the foundation of the zombie genre is The Night of the Living Dead (Serious zombie movie) and the Dawn of the Dead (Zombie movie with comic elements).

The story was intended to be as a sequel to the Night of the Living Dead but new in its own way. It's about four persons, 3 men and one woman who try to survive and protect them selves from the zombies by hiding in a big shopping mall. In the mall they come face to face with two enemies, first the zombies and then raiders.

The movie is fast paced, full of action, gore and slashing. Music was a typical 70s and changing according to the pace of the movie.

My only complain was the way the zombies looked which was not that good. The faces looked blue and that's it while their whole body and arms looked like normal human being.

Acting was good at some scenes but the majority of the scenes were full of action that there was no scope for dialogue.

This is a must watch zombie movie if you are fan of horror.

The story is about a married couple John Ingram (Sam Neill) and his wife Rae (Nicole Kidman) who take a vacation on their yacht to recover over the death of their son from a car accident. While sailing in their Yacht they see another boat and try to approach it. As they get near they find only one survivor Hughie Warriner (Billy Zane) who claims that the other crew members are already dead because of food poisoning. John feels suspicious and decides to board on that ship while Hughie is sleep. On the Ship he discovers that the food poisoning story is totally a fake thing. When Hughie finds out that John is on the board of the ship he sails with John's yacht far away with his wife, leaving John in that sinking ship.

The Good Stuff:
- Star cast: I like the main leads here. The movie completely revolves around the three characters and they gave good performances here specially Nicole Kidman.

The Neutral Stuff:
- Although the movie at beginning have some thrilling atmosphere but once John finds the truth about Hughie then there is nothing left for imagination.

The Bad Stuff:
- There are times I felt bored specially in the second half. Not all the scenes keep you engaged here with the movie. There are several scenes that just were not necessary.

Some Interesting Facts:
- The movie grossed around $8M at the box office when it was released in Australia.
- Nicole Kidman had to take sailing lessons so that she can ride the yacht here.

A Cool Quote:

This movie comes from me with little recommendation only. Good for watching for the performances and the nice sea view.

Final Verdict: Slightly Recommended

A modern classic. Brilliantly made, beautifully picturized. Very enjoyable alien movie. The movie somehow reminded me of the game Fallout. Not sure if the makers made it based on that idea but humen and aliens living together with the way machinaries were involved seemed to be alot like Fallout game Franchise.

The story goes on when an alien ship has landed Johannesburg and failing to go back from where they originally came they. A slum will be built there for them which is called District 9. One human gets contaminated by a mysterious fluid which mutates him gradually into an alien. Then this guy gets chased by the different forces.

It is a must see movie. Loved it and will be remembered as a classic in the coming years. Who knows maybe District 10 will be on its way as a sequel.

The movie was long but really brilliant at showing the human nature in different situation. This movie is not for everybody. Specially the ones who judge a movie by the visuals or the sets and location. I'm sure the movie was a low budget one as not much spending was required for the location. It is a brave movie and depends on performances more than the look of the overall movie. Performance wise you will not be dissapointed. Nicole was at her best as Grace and Paul Bettany as Tom couldn't be better.

I enjoyed the way the story was going and I'm always fond of good narration presentation in a movie. The narration here was really interesting.

The movie deserves the critical acclaim it received. It is a good movie and should entertain you specially if you are fond of artistic movies.

Eden Lake
A very terrifying and disturbing movie. This is not a horror but a British Thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat all the time. Horrifying yea but not your usual horror flick. The movie will remain with you even after finishing it and this is what I like about such movies. The story is basically about a couple who go to Eden Lake to enjoy their weekend but unfortunately things will not be as they have expected. I do not want to say anything more because I would not like to ruin the movie.

The thing with this movie is that you either like it very much or hate big time. I haven't seen anybody thinks neutral about it. One good thing to point out is that it never follows your emotions as a viewer or in other words it never follows what you want next to happen, but the scenes keep going on and on. When you expect something to happen, it never happens. And once the end comes it is disturbing more and very depressing.

The Good Stuff:
- Acting was very effective here as you will feel all kind of emotions like pity, hate, anger etc. It feels like you are a character in the movie, I felt personally that way.
- Atmosphere: Keeps going from bright to dark and darker.
- Direction: Really glad that the director did not follow the normal paces of thriller movies where the movie cools down after reaching the highest point. Here the movie just ends at that high point with no cooling down.

The Bad Stuff:
The negative effect that the movie has on you as a viewer. I'm not quite sure if i should put this as a bad stuff because I think a movie that affects you deeply is an effective film. Which means it has achieved its goal.

A Cool Quote:
"Follow the Blood"

If you haven't seen this movie then go ahead and watch it. Don't watch this as a horror but a horrifying thriller, you won't be disappointed.

Final Verdict: Highly Recommended

The movie is beautifully made. I really like Ralph Fiennes' body language in general. He is a fine actor no matter the length of the role he is given. Loved his performance too. Though again the movie here suffers from some unnecessary scenes that made the movie over 2 hours in length but the end result was satisfactory. I can call this an all art movie and Im a fan of such genre. The love story is very intimate and strong, has some flows at times but there are many outstanding scenes which will support the word "Strong" specially the scene where the english patient carries his dead lover from the cave.

I would recommend this beautiful movie to those who appreciate artistic movies. They will really enjoy it.

I like movies that are based on true stories. The story of this movie is not much but what really stands out is the character that Julia Roberts has played. It was something that she never played before. A new role for her. Very real and very strong. I enjoyed the movie just to see her reaction in different situations.
I would definitely recommend this movie even to those who do not love Julia because here she is extraordinary.

Dont expect to see great performance or great direction here but the story was interesting. An excellent court drama. Outstanding performance by Jack Nicholson and solid performances by Tom Cruise, Demi Moore and Kevin Bacon.

Both Tom and Demi are the lawyers of two members of the marines who are accused of killing their fellow soldier. It is the performance of the cast that elevates the movie more than the story itself.

If you like courtroom dramas then you will like this movie.

Final Fantasy - The Spirits Within 2001,  PG-13)
Final Fantasy - The Spirits Within
The movie is set in the year 2065. Earth is captured by huge numbers of alien phantoms where they infect and kill human beings. Aki Ross (Ming Na) along with her mentor doctor Sid try to gather all the 8 spirits required to get rid of these phantoms. During Aki's journey to find one of the spirits she meets her ex lover Gray Edwards (Alec Baldwin) and his team who together save her from the aliens and join her to find the spirits. On the other side there is General Hein (James Woods), who wants to use the powerful Zeus space cannon to destroy the Phantoms and refuses to listen to Aki and her team. each team try to do it in its own way but the result is not the same.

The Good Stuff:
-The technology and cinematography: The technology used in creating this movie is really great. The character design and the lip syncing were very accurate. I'm sure lots of time and efforts were spent in creating the whole designs but the end result was excellent.
Music: Loved the background music and it suited the story and the presence of the spirits.
- Voice Overs: Most of the actors done good job by lending their voices here specially Ming Na and Alec Baldwin

The Neutral Stuff:
- A girl searching for spirits to save earth might not be the ideal story that would appeal to the masses. It is not that the story was not good but I feel lots of improvements could be done.

The Bad Stuff:
- Simply the movie does not make justice to its title. Final Fantasy franchise is without any doubt one of the best RPG games ever made. Thinking of Final Fantasy of course reminds you of the different characters and creatures you are going to fight with but again it also remind you how colorful the game series is. FF game is full of bright colors that is too candy for the eyes, while this movie only showed the dark side of FF games and never even made any attempt to touch on the fighting sequences of the game.

Some Interesting Facts:
- The movie has failed at the box office it only recovered $85M from its $137M budget.
- The character Aki is the first fictional character to appear in Maxim magazine in the sexiest women list.
- This film is considered to be the second biggest animated box office bomb in cinema history and the film was the main reason for Square Studio to be cancelled.

Some stuff might not sound right here, but I think it is OK to give the movie a try and watch the first Japanese-American computer animated science fiction film. You might enjoy it

The story of The Firm revolves around Mitch McDeere (Tom Cruise) who is Harvard graduate in Law. He gets alot of job offers and chooses the one which gives him the highests benefits i.e. The Firm. Then He finds out about lots of corruption and murder going on with the The Firm and with the FBI help he fights to reveal the truth.

Tom Cruise gave a strong performance at some scenes. At other scenes he was ok. The rest of the cast were good at some point too. I would say the movie was somehow entertaining but the duration turned me off abit as it was over 2 hours long. There was nothig great about the picturization but it was ok and appropriate for the genre.

The Firm gets a slight recommendation from me and that would be mainly for the acting side which is done by Cruise.

The Fog 1980,  R)
The Fog
The story is set in a seaside town "Antonio Bay". The events happen during the town's celebration of its 100th Anniversary since it has been found. At the same night people notice a mysterious fog coming from the sea towards the town. The fog kills people in different ways. People discover that in the fog there are the ghosts of dead sailors who are killing the town's people as a revenge from the founders of the town who killed them hundred years back.

The Good Stuff:
- Atmosphere: The movie had the typical 70s & 80s atmosphere which I think were the best periods for horror movies. Sometimes it feels spooky even when there is nothing going around.
- The story idea (not the movie) is really cool when you read it or listen to it from someone. Sounds spooky and chilling.

The Neutral Stuff:
- Although the movie has a nice music, I don't think it has been fully utilized here. It could make a big difference to the atmosphere.
- Direction: I like Carpenter's other directed movies, but here I cannot say the same. This is not Carpenter's best but again it is not bad direction.

The Bad Stuff:
- Boring: Unfortunately this is the exact word that I can describe the movie with. I felt the boredom during many scenes. Sometimes you are just waiting for the fog to come but nothing happens or it takes really long time for a scene to finish even though the movie is short.

Some Interesting Facts:
- The movie was shot on a $1M budget and generated around $21M.
- The movie went through lots of cuts and editing. It ended being 80 minutes in length which is short for a theatrical release. The director then decided to add the beginning scene where the old man tells the children a ghost story.
- Kurt Russel was offered one of the roles but he rejected it due to disagreement on his pay.

A Cool Quote:
"Are you weird? You are weird. Thank God you're weird. The last one was so normal, it was disgusting."

The movie has a spooky atmosphere but falls flat and the atmosphere alone does not make an enjoyable watching without the other important elements

I found this movie very inteligent and honestly it is not for everyone. It needs a really focused audience to concentrate with the story and events. Fountian is made and directed beautifully. It is acted very well too. You need to be patient to watch and appreciate this movie. Has bibilical symbolism, talks about knowledge tree, tree of life and how hope has to be always there. In addition to all this it has a very intense and intimate love story.

Kate (Meg Ryan) and her fiance Charlie (Timothy Hutton) are happy couples. One day her fiance flies to Paris and there falls for a French woman. Charlie calls Kate and tells her that he found his true love. Kate rejects surrender and flies to Paris to win him back. In her trip she meets Luc (Kevin Kline) a thief who hides a stolen necklace in her bag so he can sell it to buy the land he wants to produce wine. Luc promises Kate to help her to win her finace back as he is expert in affairs. Kate gets the chance to get Charlie back but then feels that she does not love him any more!! She falls in love with Luc.

This is not the full story of French Kiss but a breif. What I liked most about the movie was Meg Ryan's light comic performance and her chemistry with Kevin Kline. I think they were really cool together and shared good screen presence. The story is a typical romance comedy with many light moments. Music was good and suitable for the genre. There were few nicely shot scenes but overall I dont think the cinematography took any full advantage of the nice locations.

French Kiss makes a good choice to watch on a heavy busy day where you need to relax have some laugh and enjoy the nonesense romance.

This is about Baltimore in the 1960s. Tracy Turnblad (Nikki Blonsky) is a high school student who loves dancing and singing alot. She always dreams to be famous and to have the chance to dance on her favorite popular show "Corny Collins Show" hosted by Corny Collins (James Marsden). One day Tracy's dream becomes true and she gets that chance of her life. However, the producer of the show Velma Von Tussle (Michelle Pfeiffer) just hates her for two main reasons the first is that the girl is overweight and the second is because she wants to make sure that her daughter Amber (Brittany Snow) gets more attention and be the main star of the show. The war starts between Tracy with her mother (John Travolta) from one side who both think that everybody should be given the chance to appear on the show, white or black and Velma Von Tussle with her daughter on the other side.

The Good Stuff:
- Music: Amazing music, fun songs, excellent choreography. This musical is really fun to watch and listen to. It has all the elements.
- Cinematography: It is breathtaking. Excellent mixture of colors has been used be it in the sets, costumes. The colors are very bright and vivid and creates the proper 60s atmosphere to the movie.
- Acting: Acting was amazing by the Nikki Blonsky. She showed all the right expressions in the different situations. Travolta was so fun to watch here and his screen presence was just mind blowing. Zac Efron, Michelle Pfeiffer and Queen Latifah had their share of good scenes as well.

The Neutral Stuff:
- The originality: That might be one reason for some not watch this movie specially those who wouldn't enjoy remakes as this is a remake of 1988 movie of the same name.

The Bad Stuff:
- This is a fun film and should not be taken seriously, so the flaws in the movie are not of a great effect.

Some Interesting Facts:
- The movie was shot on a budget of $75M and it generated around $202M.
- Both Meryl Streep and Madonna were considered for the role of Velma Von Tussle.
- There was a talk of a sequel to the movie but nothing has been materialized yet.

A Cool Quote:
"You can't stop my happiness, 'cuz I like the way I am. And you just can't stop my knife and fork when I see a Christmas ham! And if you don't like the way I look, then I just don't give a damn"

If you like musicals and a light movie then this is definitely your choice.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
This is the first movie in the Harry Potter franchise. It is the movie that started it all. The story as the title suggests is about Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe). Living with his aunt and her husband and not treated well by them. One day, Harry is taken by a giant human called Hagrid (Robbie Coltrane) to the legendary Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry after revealing to him that he is a wizard and that his parents were wizards too. Arriving at the school Harry meets Hermione Granger (Emma Watson) and Ron Weasley (Rupert Grint) and they all become friends. The three friends have a doubt that one of the teachers "the potion master" is trying to steal something which is guarded by a giant three headed dog and they try to find what that thing is. They get through lots of trouble in finding the truth and they also get to know the person who killed Harry's parents and how he is involved with that hidden secret which is the "sorcerer's stone".

The Good Stuff:
- Story: The story is adapted from the famous book and it has lots of fun things going. Many tricks and twists that keep you engaged until the end.
- Acting: Acting by the kids as well as the elder actors was super. Everyone fits in their roles perfectly. Some better than others but in general acting was satisfying.
- Visuals and CGI is the main winner here. The movie has a great cinematography and great visuals. It never disappoints. Totally lives to the book's calibre. So many great CGI have been used here. Hundreds and hundreds.
- Music: Again as the visuals the music is really enchanting and gives that nice magical atmosphere to the movie

The Neutral Stuff:
- Direction: The direction was good but perhaps more editing could be done here and there to make the movie a little bit shorter.

The Bad Stuff:
- Although the movie is a great ride but you need to allocate enough time to watch it as it is long and runs over two hours.

Some Interesting Facts:
- The film was made on a budget of $125M and it generated a worldwide revenue of over $974M to be the 6th highest grossing film of all time.
- Steven Spielberg was supposed to direct the film but he declined the offer as he wanted the movie to be an animated film.

A Cool Quote:
"It takes a great deal of bravery to stand up to your enemies, but a great deal more to stand up to your friends."

This Movie is a great magical ride and should not be missed.

Eddie Murphy stars in this movie as real estate broker. He works together with his wife. One day they decide to go for a picnic together with their daughter and son but on the way they decide to visit that big mansion for which they were asked to find a buyer. When they arrive in the mansion something seems very wrong. and as you might guess the mansion is full of ghosts. Now why the family were invited you need to watch the movie to know the reason behind it.

The main highlight of the movie is the visual effects and the way the movie was filmed. The mansion looked huge and very elegant. All the visual effects which were used in the movie were in pretty good quality.

Was I entertained?? Well, sometimes yes and many times no but I have to say that the movie was quite a visual treat but story wise it falls flat and does not offer anything new. Eddi Murphy was funny at few scenes but again thats it. Many scenes were just below the average. They were not scary or funny.

Background music was good and it worked with the overall atmosphere of the movie and with the visual effects.

Overall the movie was OK at best but boring and dumb. Children may like it but I doubt the adults would go crazy over it.

The story is about a family Man Tom who becoms an overnight hero in the news because of the way he handled one incident. He get noticed by some bad guys and the story reveals his true identity

Loved the way the family kept together and intact no matter how the situation is. There are some good action scenes but what I really liked was Vigo Mortensen's performance.

Hope Floats
Hope Floats starts with Birdee (Sandra Bullock) appearing on a live talk show together with her best friend and her husband where her best friend confess that she is having an affair with Birdee's husband Bill. shattered by the situation, Birdee takes her daughter Bernice (Mae Whitman) and moves back to her hometown Smithville, to live with her mother Ramona (Gena Rowlands) where she can start a new life. Birdee finds out that the situation is more difficult than what she was thinking. She tries to find a job and strengthen the bond with her mother and daughter. She also meets her old friend Justin Matisse (Harry Connick) and they fall in love with each other.

The movie has a simple story, concentrating more on relationships but has many flaws.

The Good Stuff:
- Gena Rowlands: Her part and character was the best as the lovable mother. She gave a nice performance while the same cannot be said about the rest.
- Music: The music was cool. there were some good country tracks going on.

The Neutral Stuff:
- Sandra Bullock: I love Sandra, but I think here she was just OK not the Bullock we know who is full of energy but again not a bad performance either.

The Bad Stuff:
- Cinematography: I did not like the way this movie was shot. It did not appeal to me at all. A romantic family drama film should have a brighter cinematography. More vivid.
- Direction: The development of characters was weak. The film starts with Bullock getting a shock. even though you get to know how she used to be before the incident from the dialogue but again this was not enough to make you feel sorry for her. The direction was not good. You can feel it because it felt like there were so many missing things between the scenes.

Some Interesting Facts:
- This movie has generated over $81M of revenues at the box office.

Avoid it unless you are a die hard Sandra Bullock fan.

Final Verdict: To be Avoided

I love animals and this movie had lots of dogs running here and there. The idea of the movie was cool but it really lacked something. Don't know how to explain. No actually it lacked many things. I did not feel this movie was entertaining enough. You will feel the boredom through out the movie.

The story is about a girl and her brother who do their best to hide their dog Friday and by doing so they gradually get other strays to stay in the place they found in their town.

House of Wax
The story of the movie is about Six teenager friends who stop their car to camp near a small town. The town is abandoned and there start the horror when they find out that the town is full of waxed people who have been killed, waxed and kept as figures. They find that this is all happening in the museum which is called House of Wax. Inside the town the teenagers get attacked by twin brothers who are the responsible ones for all the killings. The teenagers get killed one by one and only two will survive the crisis.

This is not a remake but a remake of a remake!!! it is a remake of the movie House of Wax 1953 which was a remake of Mystery of the Wax Museum 1933. Honestly I have not seen any of the original to compare this one to them.

The good stuff: The good thing about this movie was some of its special effects. The way one head was chopped in a scene. The way people were waxed and the way the museum which was made of wax melted down it was all cool

The Neutral stuff: The story of this movie sounds just ok. nothing great but again not that bad. Music again was plain and just average at best.

The bad stuff: Acting, acting and more acting. with the exception of the last two survivors who were ok the rest of the cast were really boring. Paris Hilton was the worst in the movie. Now I can understand why many people consider her to be a really bad actress. Man!! she doesn't know how to act at all. I just wonder how and why they cast her. In the scene where she was supposed to be frightened to death she was completely plain and at some scenes I felt as just I was watching one movie of the Scary Movie franchise where they make fun out of horror movies. She was really really bad. She won the most deserving Raspberry worst actress award that year. The movie's direction and editing was another let down. The first half is very slow and boring and it will only pickup in the second half. In other words the movie could be much shorter than this or they could add more interesting scenes other than what they shot in the first half.

Overall: This was not a good experience. Horror genre lovers may want to check it out just for curiosity. General audience should just ignore it.

The Good Stuff:
- Suspense: The movie has some good moments of suspense. Cheezy moments but decent.
- Music: Good use of the music in different scenes.

The Neutral Stuff:
- Acting: Nothing interesting here. Don't expect something extraordinary.

The Bad Stuff:
- Subject: The subject was not that interesting to hold my attention all the time.

Some Interesting Facts:
- The movie was made with a budget of $17M and it generated over $125M at the box office.
- The movie has been shot very fast in one and half months.

The story of Inkheart is basically about Mo (Brendan Fraser) who has the ability to bring characters out of books. One day he brings out three characters while reading the book Inkheart which is a story set in medieval times and full of magical moments. Unfortunately his wife gets inside the book!!! so Mo's mission for the next years is to search for the rare book along with his daughter so that he can get his wife back.

The Good Stuff:
- The story while reading about it sounds really interesting but unfortunately the movie does not appear to be as interesting when watched.
- Cinematography and Special effects: the movie is shot nicely with great sets and good picturization. It contains lots of well made special effects adding to the fantasy and enhancing the overall theme.

The Neutral Stuff:
- Acting: Acting was not an impressive thing here. Nothing great. I have enjoyed Helen Mirren's part the most but again she did not have many scenes there and I think Paul Bettany was effective in playing his character

The Bad Stuff:
- Not sure what to say but I feel this movie lacks something very important that I cannot explain. Something that doesn't connect the scenes very well. It felt as if I'm watching separate frames. It is mainly an issue with the editing.

Some Interesting Facts:
- The movie was made at a budget of $60M and generated around $70M.
- A sequel has been announced named The InkWorld Trilogy: Inkspell which might be released in 2012 in 3D

A Cool Quote:

It's Alive is a horror movie from the 70s. The story is about a couple who are expecting a baby but the babay turns out to be a murderous mutants who kills everybody.

Usually the 70s and 80s horror movies have the chilling atmosphere but somehow this movie did not have this particular effect on me. I was about to fall asleep in the mid of the film even though I was fully awake and not tired.

Acting was not much here in my opinion. it could be better. Sometimes it felt as it was purely plastic.

Horror movies usually have a music theme but this one lacked it badly.

The story nicely transfer you between the times of Julie and Julia. The music was very effective here.

Acting wise Meryl Streep was brilliant and loved the way she portrayed the character of Julia with her look, voice and body language. Amy was good too for her role but the award winning role is for Meryl here. No wonder she has been nominated for every award this year.

The movie was fun at some parts, had good moments.

The four criminals then go the the parent's house as the weather gets bad. The parents then discover the story and the incident when their daughter comes back home injured. The Good Stuff:
- Direction: I think the director has done a great job in editing the movie. it seemed to be fast paced and never felt the boredom.
- Cinematography: Good cinematography and good use of lighting at different scenes.

The Neutral Stuff:
- Acting: The movie has some good acting but it wasn't steadily good throughout the movie. Some scenes had good acting others were just plain.

The Bad Stuff:
- Extremely predictable, Even though I have not seen the original but I found the movie to be very predictable. Again this did not take away the fun part.

Some Interesting Facts:
- The movie has grossed over $44M at the box office.
- The film was supposed to be a direct to DVD release but because of positive feedback in test screenings they decided to release it theatrically.

A quite good chick flick. This is among those movies that they call them "Feel Good Movie". No pressures, No tension. A sweet candy happy ending movie that makes you feel good. Reese Witherspoon was completely in the character she played it was a perfect match and the character has suited her to an extreme level.
Many would think that the court room scenes were dumb but that is what we would see in these sort of movies. You cannot expect heavy court scenes like the ones you have seen in movies like The Exorcism of Emily Rose.

Overall I think most of the scenes in the movie were colorful as Elle Wood's fashion through out the movie. A good chick flick that gives one good lesson which is "Do not judge people from the first impression"

This movie is simply like having a great ride. The story is about a struggling family where they struggle in every move they make. The six characters are so distinctive and engaging. Each character has its own dreams or way of living. Be it the father Richard (Greg Kinnear) who does not stop talking about success yet he is the one who is way far from it. The mother Sheryl (Toni Collette) who is the main support to the family yet cannot forgive her husband for losing the deal they have been all waiting for. Her depressed gay brother (Steve Carell) who tried to kill himself because he was dumped by his boyfriend. The addict grandpa with his foul mouth. The son who taken a vow of silence as a challenge until he accomplish his dream and the seven year old daughter who wants to be a beauty queen by participating in the competition of "Little Miss Sunshine". One day this competition becomes the focus of the whole family and they decide they would travel so that Olive can be part of it. The van they have acts as a funny character as well.

The movie had a really good script. I liked all the characters and most of the scenes. The movie is bright yet have the dark moments of life. The cinematography was really good. Acting was top notch specially by the adult characters.

This is a great movie and can be enjoyed anytime.

A Teenage Vampire.

The story is about Michael (Jason Patric) and his brother Sam (Corey Haim) who move together with their mother to stay with their grandfather in Santa Carla, California. One day Michael meets a girl and falls for her to know later that she is with a gang of guys who are vampires. They give him wine mixed with blood and Michael drinks it without knowing what it contains. Things change for Michael and he finds out the truth. He tries his best to resist the urge of becoming a vampire and fights it with the help of his brother Sam.

I really did not think that I would enjoy the movie that much but I was very wrong. I really liked it. Acting was good but the real highlight of the movie is the 80s feel it has in terms of its music, the way the movie was picturized, The makeup, the wardrobe. All together adds to the effect of creating a perfect 80s vampire feel.

Jason Patric, late Corey Haim and Kiefer Sutherland did excellent job. The other actors were good too in their roles.

Forget about Twillight and watch this one. It is full of fun and nice moments.

Love Story
This is a very famous love story movie from the 70s. Some call it a romantic movie, others consider it as drama or tearjerker. The movie is about a law student named Oliver (Ryan O'Neal) who is from a rich family and falls in love with a poor musician girl named Jenny (Ali McGraw). The two get married even though Oliver's father opposing his son to marry from a poor family. After graduation they both work and have a happy life until one day when Jenny is diagnosed with a fatal disease. For her treatment he needs money and he has to seek the help of his father.

The movie has some good acting by the main leads. I loved the way the dialogue was going between the two specailly in the first half of the movie. Cinematogaphy was not excellent and sometimes the film I feel was shot at the wrong angles, not sure why but this is how I felt about it. I feel there was lots of purity and innocence in this love story. The movie was entertaining to some extenet but the real hero of this movie is its MUSIC. The music is the main highlight of this film. It is so enchanting and so charmful and very very warm to the heart. The background score lefts up the whole movie and brings life to the movie. In other words and atleast for me the movie would not have been the same without its music.

The Machinist
The story is about Trevor Reznik (Christian Bale) who suffers from insomnia. He could not go to sleep for almost a year. Trevor lost a lot of weight. mysterious things start happening so he tries to find the person behind them.

The Good Stuff:
- Performance: Christian Bale is really amazing, it's not just his acting but even the he committed to the role by reducing his weight just to be in the character
- Music: Good music and suits the rhythm of the movie.

The Bad Stuff:
- Pace: Sometimes the movie felt slow at some parts. This slows down the thrilling elements but do not affect the overall feel of the movie.

Some Interesting Facts:
- The Machinist had a limited release and it made a little over $8M while its budget was $5M
- Bale had lost 63 pounds for the role to weight 110 pounds. he even wanted to lose more but the makers didn't allow him.

A Cool Quote:
"Congratulations, Reznik. You just made my shit list!"

If you haven't seen the Machinist I would say go and watch it at least once to see how scary Bale looked with all that weight loss, if not for the movie itself.

The Majestic
This movie is very underrated. It has a nice story and it is full of emotions. I like the way Frank Darabont directs his movies, he gives the characters very intense emotions that it makes the audience as if they are inside the movie and living it. I really loved his earlier work like The Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile. Both the movies are my all time fav. The Majestic is not as excellent as them but it does not lag behind that much either.

The story goes about Jim Carrey who is a Hollywood writer who makes a car accident and loses his memory. He accidentaly goes to the town Lawson and there he is being mistaken for a soldier (Luke). He restore the town's movie theatre "The Majesitc" and falls in love with Luke's fiance Adele until the truth is revealed.

As I mentioned earlier the movie is full of intense emotions. Jim carrey carried his role very beautifully. The rest of the cast were very good too.

The only complain I have about the movie that it was around 2.30 hours. Which is long. some scenes would have been better if they were removed to make the movie at a faster pace.

The Good Stuff:
- The overall atmosphere of the movie, be it the sets, costumes etc, they all take you to a completely different world.
- Music: Interesting music specially during ceremonies.
- Cinematography: Nice cinematography that maintains the overall dramatic feel of the movie.

The Neutral Stuff:
- Acting: I think the acting was average by all the stars in this movie, not that good but was not bad either, just OK

The Bad Stuff:
- Wasn't suppose this to be a horror movie?? Well it is a horror movie without any horrors. Don't know it was more like a thriller drama. Nothing was scary about it.

Some Interesting Facts:
- The movie was made with a budget of $45M and grossed over $112M at the box office.
- Both Emma Thompson and Kate Winselt were nominated to play the role Elizabeth but the role eventually went to Helena Carter.

A Cool Quote:
"Did you ever consider the consequences of your actions? You made me, and you left me to die. Who am I?"

I think the movie was OK looking at it as normal drama thriller but it will fail considering it is in the horror genre. At best it is an average movie however considering all the artistic elements it has I will give it a fresh rating.

Agent Kay (Tommy Lee Jones) is working for a secret government agency which existed since the 50s. The agency is responsible of monitoring alien activities on earth. The film starts with an alien bug landing on earth. This bug is trying to destroy the earth. Agent Kay finds in the newly recruited agent Jay (Will Smith) a good partner to help him out in protecting the earth from that bug. They work together until this bug is killed and the earth is saved.

The movie is filled with lots of comedy and cool special effects.

The Good Stuff:
- Acting: Acting by Tommy and Smith was fun. They were so funny here and had light characters. They shared a nice screen chemistry together.
- Special effects: The special effects which were used are excellent. Even after more than 10 years they do not look dated or anything.
- Music: very fun and appropriate to the genre.

The Neutral Stuff:
- Movie did not concentrate on the characters development and I guess this was as the director wanted the movie to be fast, short and to focus more on situations rather than characters.

The Bad Stuff:
- Not a major complaint but I guess the movie could expand more on the different aliens species and more on their behaviours.

Some Interesting Facts:
- The movie was made at a budget of $90M and it became a big hit to generate revenues over $588M at the box office.
- Client Eastwood was offered the role that Tommy played but he rejected it as he felt the script was weak.

Again this movie was fun to watch and it will appeal to the majority of people

Meet the Spartans
This movie uses the movie 300 as its core reference. The story is about Leonidas (Sean Magiure) the king of Sparta who takes his troops and goes to fight with Persia's King Xerxes who wants to take Sparta to his own. Leonidas along with his captain (Kevin Sorbo) recruit 13 half naked Sparta's soldiers and prepare them for battle against invading Persian forces. During the battle there are lots of references to famous movies, shows and personalities like Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, Sylvester Stallone, American Idol and Deal or no deal etc.

Meet The Spartans is Lazy, lame and painfully unfunny. The movie is stupid by all means. I did not find the jokes or even the situations to be funny. They were crude and awful. I just cannot understand how a movie like this gets produced.

Other than the cinematography at few shots and some of the music then the movie is not watchable and I would not recommend it to anyone unless you want to take a revenge from someone :)

Michael loves her alot to surrender now so he just promises her that he will not get dragged into her family business but he will not be able to keep his promise and gets dragged into the thing and things gets worse in a comic way.

The Good Stuff:
- There are few scenes that I loved and found to be quite funny specially the scene in the Chinese restaurant and the scenes involving the old deaf lady.
- Story: Somehow the story was interesting but not executed properly.

The Neutral Stuff:
- Acting: Average acting by the lead. Not much scope for a better comedy.
- Average cinematography and music. They don't seem to enhance the movie in any way.

The Bad Stuff:
- Direction: The editing and direction of the movie was just not that good. Many scenes suffer here, some were just unnecessary others were not that interesting or boring.

Some Interesting Facts:
- The movie flopped at the box office having recovered only $54M from its $75M budget.
- The theme music used here is not original but taken from a British TV show.

A Cool Quote:

The Midnight Meat Train
The story of the Midnight Meat Train revolves around Leon (Bradley Cooper), a photographer who wants to prove himself to Susan Hoff (Brooke Shields) an art gallerist who is not impressed alot by his work. One night Leon goes into the city's subway to take photographs and there he finds bunch of guys harassing a girl. He takes some photos and then saves her from the guys. The next day, while reading the newspaper he discovers that the girl is missing. Leon then Investigates on similar cases to find out that all the previous cases lead to a butcher named Mahogany (Vinnie Jones). The strange thing is that this butcher has been killing subway passengers for hundred years!!!
Leon's obsession increases day by day on the subject which makes him follow up the butcher every night to picture him while he is killing his victims. His girlfriend Maya (Leslie Bibb) gets worried as this starts to affect him and their relationship so one day she decides to check out that butcher herself with a friend and to get inside his flat. Now I don't want to say what happens next so that I wont spoil the story. What will happen to Leon and his girlfriend? What is the secret behind the killings done by that butcher? You need to watch the movie to know all this.

The Good Stuff:
- The movie had somehow a good atmosphere but again I think the director would have been able to make it darker than how it is.
- Very nice cinematography combined with an interesting story.
- I liked the way the movie ended and it made an interesting watching.

The neutral stuff:
- Acting was OK. Not that good but it was not bad as well. I think Bradley Cooper was cool here. Vinnie Jones did not have dialogue but was appropriate for his role as the tough serial killer.

The bad stuff:
- Not sure but I felt such a movie requires a particular theme in terms of music and this was the major let down for me here. However the film itself had some good sound effects.

Some Interesting Facts:
- The movie got some critical acclaim but did not get the commercial success as this film had a limited release only. The film generated around $3M revenues while the budget was around $15M.

This movie is not intended for everyone as it has high level of violence and some extremely gory scenes.

Miss Congeniality
The story of Miss Congeniality is very simple. After receiving a threat from a criminal, the Miss United States Pageant competition becomes at risk. The only way for the FBI to catch this criminal is to send one of their FBI agents into the pageant. Special Agent Gracie Hart (Sandra Bullock) is then chosen to be a part of the pageant competition in order to catch that criminal. But the problem is that this girl is completely a tomboy and she needs a full transformation hence they hire beauty pageant consultant Victor Melling (Michael Caine) to transform her.

The Good Stuff:
- SANDRA BULLOCK: Yeah Sandra Bullock in Caps. She is the main reason this movie is so fun to watch. She was just the perfect choice for this role. I doubt the movie would have been that fun if Sandra was not in it. Michael Caine was good too in playing his part.
- Music: has been utilized in a good way for the movie. The right scores at the right scenes.

The Neutral Stuff:
- The story might sound silly when read but with the comedy elements it becomes really good and enjoyable

The Bad Stuff:
The movie has its own flows. Some might call it dumb or silly, others may call it a chick flick only, but all this does not take away the credit from this film and how funny it can get

Some Interesting Facts:
- The movie was made at a budget of $45M and it grossed over $212M at the box office.
- Some scenes were filmed at Sandra's own house in Austin

A Cool Quote:
"The last time I was this naked in public I was coming out of a uterus!"

I loved this movie and Sandra Bullock. I was entertained all the time and enjoyed many scenes. Just can't understand the low ratings that the movie has been getting from the critics and the community. The movie is set in the early 1950s. The story is about Katherine Ann Watson (Julia Roberts) a teacher who moves to Massachusett to teach Arts at Wellesley College. The college is very conservative in terms of women's responsibilities when they reach the age of marriage. Watson inside the college wants her students to be intelligent and to have their freedom in choosing the career, not just to be housewives as the society wants them to be. Through her subject she teaches the girls that a woman's life should have more dimensions than just being some one's wife or mother. She wants the girls to have their own identity and to have a name of their own by completing their high studies. The movie concentrates on the relationship between Watson and her students. It also shows how Watson's ideas get rejected during that time.

The main story is simple to say but there are lots of other small stories going on.

The Good Stuff:
- Impressive Star Cast, you have Julia Roberts, Kirsten Dunst, Julia Stiles, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Marcia Gay Harden. They all gave some good performances. Some better than others but overall the performances were stable.
- The music at some of the scenes was decent too. It could be better but overall again it was satisfying.

The Neutral Stuff:
- The story of the movie does not have much appeal. There are many women oriented movies that talk about women rights in a more serious way. I think the director wanted this one to be in a more light way but again this movies missed many vital factors that are required to make it an enjoyable experience.

The Bad Stuff:
- While all the other casts' hair style and look had the 50s look, it was only Julia Roberts who seemed to live in the late 80s and early 90s with her hair style and outfits. That was something really strange and the director has to be blamed for this as well as the actress herself. Except for few scenes where she looked good in the 50s outfits, most of her other scenes she was the same Julia Roberts you would see in any other movie with the same hair style and T shirts. Nothing was different not even her makeup. A line of advice we would give Julia is to learn from Meryl Streep how to change her look for a character. Streep never plays herself, she has always changed her character's look according to the way the movie demands.
- The movie could be somehow shorter. I think there were many unnecessary scenes that could be chopped off.
- The cinematography was not appealing specially since the movie is set in the 50s. I think the movie's cinematography lacked that 50s tent color which should have been there to give it a complete feel of the 50s.

Some Interesting Facts:
- The movie was made at a budget of $65M and generated around $141M at the box office.
- Wellesley College regretted that many things that the movie mentioned about the college at that time were not true and just fictional!!

Overall the movie is Mediocre. It was just OK nothing more nothing less.

A suspense thriller without any suspense or thrills. I dont know why but I felt that all the cast looked tired through out the movie. As a fan of Sandra Bullock this was not a satisfying movie. She plays a cop here and along with another detective they were looking for a solution in a murder case. As viewers there was no twist but you know what is happening and what will happen next.

One more thing I cannot understand is the title of the movie. I feel it is irrelevant.

The movie revolves around Tank Turner (Dane Cook). Tank basically gets hired by his friends to date their girlfriends and give them the worst date of their lifetime so that these girls would think that their boyfriends are the best guys ever. Tank gets paid for doing this and has succeeded many times until one day his best friend Dustin (Jason Biggs) who is in deep love with his work colleague Alexis (Kate Hudson) hires him to do the trick because Alexis does not think of him as a lover but only as a friend. the trick does not work this time with Alexis and she loves whatever Tank is doing with her. They end up having casual sex every time they meet. Tank feels the guilt but at the same time he falls in love with the girl.

The Good Stuff:
- The movie has some fun jokes and situations but unfortunately they are too little to raise the positive bar for this one.

The Neutral Stuff:
- Dane CooK; even though I personally like Cook in comedy but I feel his comic timing was not effective here due to lack of proper script and story.
- Alec Baldwin made an interesting appearance here as Cook's father but he had few scenes and not all of them were good.

The Bad Stuff:
- The story was so predictable. From frame one you would know what will happen next.
- Weak script that ruins the movie further. when you have a predictable story then you need a solid script to justify it.
- Kate Hudson, she was very boring and not convincing even in that role which was supposed to be kinda stupid. No wonder why she was nominated as the worst actress that year.

Some Interesting Facts:
- The movie was shot on a $20M budget and generated around $40M worldwide.
- Many scenes were improvised on the sets, The director used to ask the actors to do a scene in different ways - the way they like and the best one was to be chosen for the movie.

A Cool Quote:
"The truth will set you free but before it does, It's gonna piss you off!"

It is not the vulgarity or offensiveness that will put you off here, no. It is the predictability and poor script that makes the movie a forgettable experience.

Night at the Museum
The story of this movie is about Larry Daley (Ben Stiller) who is divorced and tries to find job so he can settle down and prove himself to his ex wife and most importantly his only son. One day he gets a job as a security guard (night watchman) in the town's museum.
Larry finds out that everything in the museum comes to life everynight and he finds out that this is all because of Tablet of Akmenrah which was brought to the museum in 1952. Since then every night everything comes to life. Larry finds difficulties in coping with the situation after the first night but then he tries to stick to the job no matter what will happen. When he is able to handle everything in order the next day he finds out that the previous guards are trying to take the tablet. Together with his new friends at the museum he prevents the tablet from being stolen and the same night his son becomes proud of his father's heroic actions.

This movie was produced at a budget of $110M and generated over $700M worldwide. One funny fact that Stiller has revealed was that he has imitated Tom Cruise in his running. He watched the Mission Impossible movies to get the running thing right. Now why he wanted to run like Cruise is a mystery thing for me.

The movie is a family adventure movie and it should give sufficent entertainment. Acting was just plain and average. No much scope in such films for exhibiting good acting. The special effects were the major highlight of the movie and were very good. Music sounded cool at some scenes and was appropriate for the film.

Night At The Museum can make an interesting watching. It is a good entertainer that should keep you entertained along with the family.

The Notebook
The movie is purely a love story between a guy and a girl and how the circumstances get them separated then the girl is about to get married to a guy she fall in love with. She meets again her first lover . Don't want to spoil the story so you need to see the rest.

The positive side of the movie that it has nice cinematography and nice sets. some good acting by the main leads too. On the the negative side I think the story spoils itself specially you get to know very soon what will happen and how the story will end. I do not mean that it is predictable. No because everything gets revealed in before the second part of the movie.

The other thing I did not like and the director is the one to be blamed how there was no transition at all in the girls life. First you see her almost getting dead because she got separated from her lover and maybe a scene or two and she falls for another guy. It sounded completely wrong. The ending was too melodramatic. I think the director would have done a better job if he let the couples just die together without saying they wish to die together.

I would have to say that The Notebook was a mixed experience for me. It was not as entertaining as I thought it would be. It was not an artistic movie (The way I love). It was something in the middle. Maybe the director was not able to make his mind whether he wanted an artistic movie or an entertaining one.

A funny light comedy. hilarious performances by Edie Murphy who plays about 7 characters himself. The film clearly belongs to Eddie and he excelled himself in all the characters. The story mainly is about the professor Sherman who invented a cure for obesity that gives results in few seconds. However the side effects are too big to avoid.

If you are looking for a light comedy with some gags then I would recommend this one.

This is a movie about therapist Claire (Anne Hathaway) who is assigned to help the five survivors of a plane crash.
The movie starts very slow and had a surprise ending something similar to the movie (Stay). Acting was good, nice cinematography and music but honestly the movie was boring at most of the times. It was a really slow paced movie and does not pick up until the last 20 minutes.

Give it a shot if you like suspenseful movies but be warned that the movie is slow and do not expect something huge.

The movie is about two young magician who become eachothers biggest enemy after being friends. Lots of tricks and rivalary goes on, hate grows and each is trying to defame and get rid of the other so he and his tricks be the greatest ever.

The movie has very solid acting from Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman. Nice tricks, nice cinematography. The female character did not have much scope here. The movie ending is very tricky and shockingly amazing and unexpected.

This is a movie that you are going to enjoy be it the performances or the twists.

Ratatouille
The story of this Disney/Pixar production revolves around the rat Remy who has a dream to be a famous chef one day. The movie has a very clear message which is "Nothing is impossible". This message goes under what is being repeated in every other scene that "Everybody can cook". The movie starts with Remy being a completely different rat than his peers including his brother who is ready to swallow whatever comes in his way. Remy has a great taste for food and he is able to identify a fresh one from a rotten or a poisoned one. One day Remy finds himself in Gusteau's restaurant in Paris. A restaurant of France's top chef Auguste Gusteau who died recently. Remy tries to intervene and fix the soup but he gets caught by the new hired garbage boy Alfredo Linguini. The soup becomes the favorite dish of the day for all the customers. From there both the rat and the boy become friends and they become one team where Remy hides in the boy's hat and controls his hand movements by pulling his hair to cook. Everybody gets impressed by Linguini's talent until one he reveals the whole truth to the team. That would be the day where Remy becomes a famous chef as he dreamed.

The movie has so many good values to it which can be applicable to all ages. It gives hope that nothing can be impossible. It shows the value of friendship and that whenever you want something then you need to work hard to achieve it.

The Good Stuff:
- The film's message
- The voice-over performances and the different characters were quite good to keep you engaged.
- The CGI was really good and I personally loved the animations. Pixar are really good in these type of movies.
- Music was fun too. It provides Paris atmosphere perfectly.

The Neutral Stuff:
- The story of a rat cooking is too good to be real but again that is Hollywood and this does not undermine how good Ratatouille is as a movie suitable for all different ages.

The Bad Stuff:
- There were some interesting characters where they did not have much scope like Remy's brother. It would have made an interesting and more fun story provided that this character had a bigger exposure in the movie.

Some Interesting Facts:
- The name of the movie Ratatouille is the name of a French dish. I think the makers used this particular name because the story involved rats.
- The movie was done with a budget of $150M and became an instant hit of 2007 to generate over $620M in revenues.

The movie has a flawless charm and should entertain everybody the same way.

A very intense movie. Beautifully made, sad and powerful. It might not be for everybody but majority will enjoy it for sure.
The movie tells us the tale of four human beings. Everyone of them is aiming for a different vision of happiness. Even at the hardest times they continue with their dreams and refuse to let it go, Lots of drug use is involved.

The four cast gave excellent performances but I would have to say that Ellen Burstyn gave an extemely powerful performance that you will never forget. Her character was of a lonely widow with very warm emotions and simple dreams that go the wrong way.

This movie is HIGHLY recommended if you have not seen it yet. Satisfaction is guaranteed for those who are into the drama genre.

Resident Evil
I found the movie to be good. Doesn't deserve such a harsh criticism and rating. The movie is not fully faithful to the game franchise but people should understand that this was supposed to be a prequel to the Resident Evil Franchise. Haven't seen the other instalments yet so cannot compare them. But have to say this was an action packed one. It was never boring but again it is not a state of Art movie and do not expect to see great acting too.

Have to say again that a 50-60% rating for this movie would be a fair one. I gave it a 60% because I like the game and liked this prequel but compared to the other game to movie "Silent Hill" then no because Silent Hill has really intense dark atmosphere in both the game and the movie.

Resident Evil - Apocalypse 2004,  R)
Resident Evil - Apocalypse
This is the second installment in the Resident Evil Franchise. Resident Evil: Apocalypse starts with the outbreak of a deadly virus (T-Virus) in Raccoon City. This virus converts all the infected population to zombies hungry for flesh. Alice (Milla Jovovich) continues her journey in the city and the movie starts after she was captured and how she escapes from Umbrella guards back to the city. Alice has been used as a subject for different biogenetic experiments and this gives her somehow a strong power to fight like a superhero. The movie also introduces some new characters. These characters join Alice in her fight and all together work to escape from the city after the spread of the virus. Among the characters are Jill Valentine (Sienna Guillory), Terri Morales (Sandrine Holt), Carlos Oliviera (Oded Fehr) and Nicholai (Zack Ward). Some of the survive and some just get killed. They also come face to face with Nemesis (One of the famous and main monsters in Resident Evil games). Now who will survive and who will not you need to watch the movie to see.

I liked the first movie and thought it was nicely made. This one is just an OK movie nothing great about it but again it is not a bad one.

The Good Stuff:
- The movie is fast paced and it moves really fast. This would not make you feel bored.
- The cinematography and the music were cool and appropriate for the genre.

The Neutral Stuff:
- Acting was not much to praise here. Milla Jovovich was good with her action sequences. The rest of the cast range from OK to bad.

The Bad Stuff:
- Resident Evil: Apocalypse is more of an action movie than a movie with a proper story and plot. The basic story of the film is that the virus is spread and that a group of people are trying to escape from the city. I think that this is the main negative point that the movie suffered from and the major thing that made this film be less enjoyable than the first one which had some sense of suspense.

Some Interesting Facts:
- The movie's original title was to be Resident Evil: Nemesis because of the presence of Nemesis.
- Many scenes from the movie were made exactely from action sequence of the game itself specially from Resident Evil 2.

Again Resident Evil: Apocalypse is just an average or below average movie that suffers from lack of proper story and suspense.

Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior
This is a sequel to the movie Mad Max, the story is set post nuclear war in Australia and where oil or gasoline becomes a completely rare commodity to get. Max (Mel Gibson) here helps a group of people who are the survivors in protecting their oil refinery and ultimately escape from the siege. In this movie you would see lots of action going on and lots of true stunts happening here and there. The chasing scene at the end of the movie is one of the longest sequences and lasts around 13 minutes. It was a great thrilling experience.

I find the Road Warrior to be an overall entertaining movie. I cannot say it is a movie with a 100% rating as the site here suggests. Like any other movie it has its own flows. This movie has the complete feel of the 80s be it the way Gibson or the bandits are dressed, the music or the sets. Acting was great by Gibson. Action was kick ass. Background music was perfect for the overall theme of the movie.

The only thing I can say that this movie concentrates more on the action sequences than the overall story and this is what we usually notice in pure action movies. Watch Gibson kicking ass in leather!!!

Rocky 1976,  PG)
Rocky
The film is about Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone) who is an underdog boxer. Rocky lives a simple life and has passion for two things one which is boxing and the other is his best friend's sister Adrian (Talia Shire). One day Rocky gets the chance of his lifetime to fight with the world heavyweight champion Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers). With the help of his manager Mickey (Burgess Meredith) and lots of training Rocky gets the chance to prove himself and become a famous man from a nobody.

The Good Stuff:
- Even though the story is very simple but with the nice dialogue and natural acting by Stallone, Shire and Weathers it becomes really really good.
- Music: The movie has a very catchy music that will stay with you for a long time. Not only a good music but very efficiently used in the film too with many differnt tones based on situations
- Cinematography: The movie was ideally shot and the picturization was beautiful. Good camera angles. Nice sets too
- Direction: I can comfortably say that the director has a great part in making this a successful movie. The movie didn't feel short or long it was appropriate and this gives you a good evidence of proper editing.

The Neutral Stuff:
- Some might feel the story is too simple and straight forward with no twists or complexities, but even though the movie lacks the complexity it never bores or falls below the good bar.

The Bad Stuff:
I cannot really think of anything major that is bad or negative. Of course there might be some small little flaws but they never ruin the movie.

Some Interesting Facts:
- Very tight budget was allocated for this one $1.1M. The movie became the highest grossing movie of 1976 to generate around $225M.
- Sylvester Stallone got the inspiration to write the story after watching one of Muhammad Ali's fights.
- Rocky is the first sports movie to win Academy award for best picture.

A Cool Quote:
"I wanna kiss ya, ya don't have to kiss me back if ya don't feel like it."

Very simple and interesting movie that would make you feel good.

The movie is ok. Nothing new to offer other than it is placed in a new era. Leonardo was good in the movie. This movie severely lacks one of the biggest strengths of the original and that is MUSIC. The music was the soul of the original one specially with such a classic story. The attempt was average but never exceeds above the average with this new Romeo and Juliet.

Satanic
I'm not a big fan of direct to video movies but decided to give it a shot for this one. The review has spoilers

Satanic starts with a girl having a car accident with her father. The father dies in the accident and she gets hospitalized due to serious injuries. The doctors make many operations on her face to get her back to the normal state she used to have before the accident. The girl then gets constant nightmares suggesting she has done something bad in the past as now she cannot remember anything relates to her life before the accident. At the end the girl finds out that the doctors gave her a face of a different girl (Satanic one) they've mistaken for her and that the man in the car was not her father but the satanic girl's father.

I didn't raise my hope when I decided to watch this movie but honestly it was terrible. Terrible is the least can be said. It had a good idea but badly acted and directed. Avoid

Scary Movie
Stupid but funny. Gross but with light humor. This is what I can say about the first movie in the franchise. Scary Movie makes fun of many popular horror movies and makes references to some other movies too. The main movie themes that it makes fun of are Scream, I know What you Did Last Summer. Has some elements of the Matrix too in few scenes.

The movie is a no brain, some scenes were silly, some were stupid and not funny. Other scenes were funny and you could get a laugh or two.

I found the Wayans brothers to be funny here and the guy who acted as Doofy was the most funny character in the whole movie.

If you like comedies with no brains and proper story you might like this one too.

Impressive cast, good set up and some good performances but unfortunately the movie does not have a solid story and it was predictable. Shaun of the Dead
Shaun (Simon Pegg) is having tough time in his relationship with his girlfriend Liz (Kate Ashfield). The girl thinks he is boring and never tries anything new. One day Liz just dumps him but poor Shaun decides to make all the changes she love, but unfortunately it is the same day where the city becomes full of zombies. Shaun with his immature friend Ed (Nick Frost) try to overcome this. He decides to save his mother and her husband as well as Liz. The only place he thinks would protect them all from the zombies is the Winchester, a pub he visits everyday.

The Good Stuff:
- Dialogue: very funny dialogue combined with some hilarious scenes.
- Acting: Acting was completely fun to watch. All the main characters did justice to their roles. Pegg and Frost were amazing in many scenes and I feel they would make a nice comedy team in other movies too.
- Direction: Quite good direction combined with proper editing.
- Makeup: I liked the way the zombies looked in this movie. They were like real zombies. The makeup team did an absolutely terrific job.

The Neutral Stuff:
- The movie is a horror comedy and should not be mistaken to pure horror movies specially by people who are looking for pure horror.

The Bad Stuff:
- I enjoyed watching the movie and I think it is a unique experience. Again no major issues here.

Some Interesting Facts:
- The movie has generated over $30M while it was shot on a budge of about 4M Pounds.
- The film was delayed for about two weeks after Dawn of the Dead (2004) was released in the UK so that people would not be confused as both have similar names.

A Cool Quote:
"David, kill the Queen!"

I can say that this is simply one of the best horror comedies and should not be missed out.

Final Verdict: Highly Recommended

The Shawshank Redemption
A very beautiful movie. A great movie about long term friendship. It is really shame that this movie was not a success in box office. But hopefully the movie was not ignored and it is one of the best made during the 90s decade. This is a MUST watch for all. Great acting, great script and story telling.

She's the One 1996,  R)
She's the One
The movie is mainly about relationships. It tells the story of two brothers Mickey (Edward Burns) and Francis (Mike McGlone) Both are married but very different than each other. Mickey is a simple guy and easy going. He married a girl that he did not even know well. Francis is a stock broker in the wall street and married to Reene (Jennifer Aniston. Francis is having an affair with his brother's ex fiancee (Cameron Diaz). When Mickey finds out that his brother is sleeping with his ex lots of trouble happen in their relationship.

The Good Stuff:
- Acting by Males: Both Edward Burns and Mike McGlone gave some good funny performances here. They were suitable choices for the characters they played.

The Neutral Stuff:
- The story could be better. I think for a romantic comedy more funny situations could be added here and there. The movie lacked proper laugh even though the serious side of the story was good
- Acting by the females was nothing interesting. Don't know but all the female characters here were just plain. They did not offer anything worthwhile.

The Bad Stuff:
- Cinematography: The movie is very weak in this department. Some camera angles were poor. Sometimes it felt that the movie was shot on a single dimension only.
- Direction: The director to be blamed for many flaws this movie is suffering from. Be it in the characters or in the story. There are some characters that are not fitting properly in the movie.

Some Interesting Facts:
- Edward Burns directed the movie. Although he gave a good performance, I cant say the same thing about his direction.
- The movie has been shot on a very tight budget $3M !!!!

A Cool Quote:
- "Romance is great, but I just want to remind you, it don't pay the bills."

The movie is an average romantic comedy suffers from many flaws but can be checked out at least one time.

Silent Hill
This review contains spoilers

There are movies where the majority might hate and just few enjoy watching it. Silent Hill is one for me. I really love this movie. This is one movie based on the famous video game for play station. I have to say for me this is the most faithful adaptation from a videogame until date.

The story of Silent Hill involves few characters (Again as few as the game has). Rose Da Silva (Radha Mitchell) a mother whose adopted daughter Sharon (Jodelle Ferland) sleepwalks. Her daughter always mentions Silent Hill while she is sleepwalking. Rose decides to take Sharon to Silent Hill to discover the secret behind the nightmares her daughter suffers from. Silent Hill turns out to be a ghost town as it suffered from a series of underground coal fires in the 70s. The town is full of terror and fear around every single corner. On her way to Silent Hill Rose encounters a police woman Cybil (Laurie Holden) who tries to stop her and end up getting trapped with Rose in the town. They both try their best to find Sharon. They both follow the ghost of Alessa (Sharon look alike) who was burnt to death and was accused as to be a witch. During the journey they get through the nightmares when the darkness falls within the town and that is the time when demons arise and kill people. They are told that the church in the town is the safest place to hide in and protect themselves from the darkness but what they find out that it is even worse than the darkness when they meet Christabella who brain washed all the people in the town. Rose finds out the secret behind Sharon's dreams and finds out what happened to Alessa and how she was killed.

Again I would say that this was the most faithful video game adaptation I have seen. The way it was filmed, the different demons, the atmosphere of the movie, the weather. Whoever is a fan of the game would know how beautifully this movie has been produced and made up to the name of the famous franchise. I cannot explain how it felt whenever the siren started in the movie, it gives feel of shiver and terror. The cinematography and the special effects were excellent by all means. The music was really good too. It maintained the pace of the movie and reminded me of the game.

Many would claim that the ending was confusing and not understandable and this is how the game has always been. I really liked how the movie ended which can be interpreted into so many different interpretations. When you look at it you might think that the mother and her daughter just were killed and became ghosts and the ghosts returned back to their home peacefully. You can notice that from the way the ending was shot. While the father scenes maintained the full live colors, the mother and daughter scenes were given that bluish color. Even when Rosa called her husband, he was not able to hear her clearly but to guess few words.

I know this movie is not that popular among the critics and the community and that a 90% rating may raise few questions but this is my personal opinion and I can confidently say that Silent Hill for me was a rather great experience full of entertainment and stunning visuals combined with a great story and a very dark atmosphere. Just the way I like horror movies to be.

I really like and admire Johnny Depp. He is very versatile and talented. He can play characters in movies with the same theme very differently. Take for example Sleepy Hollow, Sweeny Todd and From Hell. These are movies that have same dark intense atmosphere yet Depp is so different in each one of them. He never repeats himself.

As mentioned the movie is very well picturised. It has the dark atmosphere it required. The story goes when Depp is sent from New York to the village "Sleepy Hollow" to investigate about a series of murders going on by a headless horseman. A legendary fairytale.

You need to watch the movie to see how Depp solves the mystery. It is an entertaining movie and Depp plays a character with some comic timings.

While This is considered a thriller but it does not have much thrill. Even though Keanu Reeves is an actor I like to watch but for some reasons I'm not aware of I felt he was so tired doing this movie and shooting for it. He looked kind of tired in most of the scenes now I don't know if this how he should appeared as a character in the film as he is sort of alcoholic or if he was really tired. Not sure.

The movie surrounds around the corruption and how things are between Street kings who are the cops. There are some ok action stuff but again these cannot carry the movie.

If you have not watched Street Kings then believe me you have not missed anything great. If you are a die hard fan of Keanu then give it a shot

This is a remake of a 1951 movie "The Thing from Another World" , I have not seen the original but this movie is terrific. I have seen the movie few times before but this is the first time I see it on Hi Definition and have to say it looked amazing, sounded perfect. Totally a different experience.
The story is about a group of an American scientific research outpost in Antarctica find themselves battling an alien organism which is capable of perfectly imitating its victims. Don't want to say more as it is much more fun to watch.

The Good Stuff:
- Atmosphere: That how the atmosphere should be in any horror movie you feel the chill before anything happens
- Acting: Good acting by most of the actors specially Kurt Russell
- Music: builds up very quickly and very appropriate to the theme of the movie.
- Direction: That should be among John Carpenter's best works
- Special effects: Really crazy and cool effects have been used for the movie, even today it doesn't look cheesy or anything like that just perfect.

The Bad Stuff:
Don't know if there is any.. I have not noticed any big issue that I didn't like or bothered me.

Some Interesting Facts:
- The movie was a flop at the box office as it just only made over $19M, The budget was $15M
- The opening title is a duplicate from the title of the original movie. Same fonts have been used.
- Kurt Russell's role was to e played originally by Nick Nolte or Jeff Bridges but both of them turned it down.

A Cool Quote:
"I just cannot believe any of this voodoo bullshit!"

This is an excellent classic horror movie that should not be missed. Try and watch it on bluray for more excitement. I remember this movie being the inspiration to one of the best episodes in X Files Season one named "Ice". That episode was dealing with a parasite that attacks the body too.

This is a crime/court movie. If you like this genre then this is the movie for you.

The story is about a murder trial that brings a small Mississippi town's racial tensions into a full focus. Tension intensifies in the town and lots of unpleasant events take place in the small town.

Performance wise Matthew McConaughey had the most effective performance in the movie. Both Samuel L. Jacksonand Kevin Spacey were good too in their roles. I think if Kevin was given more scope the movie would have been better. Unfortunately Sandra Bullock was wasted in her role which could have been played by anybody else.

Be warned that the movie is long. It is approximatelt 2.30 hours in duration. Could be cut here and there but I dont have much to complain about. I think this was a decent movie.

Very bad movie, To be avoided at any cost. Acting was plastic. No special effects. Bad direction. Even though the movie's name is Tornado but the actual Tornado only appears the last 5 minutes from the 90 minutes full length feature. If you are looking for a disaster movie then look somewhere else

The Transporter
The story revolves around the Transporter Frank Martin (Jason Statham) whose job is to transport goods or people from a place to another without asking questions. The movie starts with him transporting a gang of bank robbers showing how he is professional in his job. One day one of his transporting goods appear to be moving. Frank violates one of his rules and looks inside the bag to find a gagged living woman. Upon delivering the woman to the owner, the owner knows that Frank has opened the bag and from there the action starts as he tries to get rid of Frank. Frank then gets to know the secret behind the woman.

The Good Stuff:
- Very fast paced story filled with cool actions and big explosions. The movie will entertain action genre lovers.

The Neutral Stuff:
- Acting by Jason Statham was OK too but nothing special. The movie does not give the actor to show his acting capabilities. But he has shown some appropriate elements of acting for the character he was playing.

The Bad Stuff:
- The story of a transporter with his own rules is good to watch but that's a small part of the movie only. The remaining part you do not have much of story going on. All what you would see explosions here and there.

Some Interesting Facts:
- The movie has generated over $43M at the box office from its $21M budget.
- Most of the stunts were done by Jason Statham himself.

A Cool Quote:
"You're always complaining, except when we make love. Then you say nothing."

I enjoyed watching the movie even though it does not have any substance or a twisting story. Overall it was a decent action flick.

Trick 'r Treat
The movie is about four different legendary tales set in the night of Halloween. a psycho serial killer (DYLAN BAKER) who looks for his next victim and enjoys the way they suffer before they are completely gone. A young virgin (ANNA PAQUIN) who is looking for someone to be with with a twist ending. A group of teens and the consequences of their prank. A trick r treat demon and how he attacks an old man (BRIAN COX).

The movie had a very halloweenish atmosphere. Acting was ok but what this movie stands out is its tricks and twists. You never know what is going to happen next. Unlike many horror movies of nowdays this movie is unique in terms of how it was shot and has that creepy intelligence to it. Cinematography was nice and very faithful to the film. Music was good but could be better somehow.

Trick 'r Treat is considered to be one of the best horror movies released in 2008 (the website here says 2009 which is wrong) and it is the perfect movie for Halloween.

Great story. Excellent acting by Jim Carrey. He will not dissapoint you. Light and easy story. The concept of the movie and story idea is really unique. The story is about Attorney Lucy Kelson (Sandra Bullock) who is a woman with high social values. Lucy thinks that she has been brought to this world to protect its values. She tries to save one of her local community centres from being demolished by the Wade Company owned by George Wade (Hugh Grant). Incidentally when she tries to meet him to convince him not to demolish the building she ends up getting a job in his company as his personal attorney.

George gets impressed by her work and becomes totally dependant on her advise all the time even for the silliest stuff. Lucy gets fed up and gives her two week notice and tries to find him a replacement in her position. Now what happens next is predictable and you need to watch it.

The film was fun to watch specially with Sandra Bullock. No matter how predictable the movie is she makes the movie really enjoyable. Hugh Grant was cool in some of the scenes too. The movie was entertaining for its genere and had adequate music going in the background depending on the situation.

If you like the romantic comedy genre then you will not be dissapointed with Bullock.

The Bourne Identity 2002,  PG-13)
The Bourne Identity
A very fast paced movie. This is the first movie in the trilogy. The story is about Jason Bourne (Matt Damon) who tries to find his own identity. Bourne is found by an Italian fishing boat in the sea, shot with two bullets on his back and floating in the sea. The man cannot remember anything about himself, his name, or whatever happened to him in the past and why he was shot. he discovers an implanted device that leads him to access a deposit box in Zurich. In that box he finds many countries passports for himself with different identities and lots of currencies worth thousands of dollars. Bourne then meets Marie (Franka Potente) and offers her $20K in order to give him a ride to Paris. She accepts the offer and then gets stuck with him in his journey. Bourne becomes more surprised when several assassins are being sent to kill him. It is then when he feels he is very important. Will Bourne finds out who he is? Watch the movie to know the answer.

I quite liked this movie, I think it was very good fast paced action thriller.

The Good Stuff:
- Story: The movie had a very interesting story and it keeps unfolding with every scene. Keeps you wondering what will happen next. It is a completely engaging film and this is how a thriller has to be. Somehow it reminded me of another movie "Unbreakable". I think mainly because of the element where that main character gradually discovers his superhero abilities.
- Direction: Doug Liman has done a really good job in directing and editing the movie. It felt properly in order, not long and not short.
- Action Sequences: were the highlight of the movie and added up to the thrills within the story.
- Acting: Good acting specially by the hero Matt Damon and Franka Potente. I guess Damon was the right choice for this role. He had all the ingredients that made him "The Bourne" Character.
- The movie had a nice and very appropriate soundtrack that will be with you for a long time.

The Neutral Stuff:
- Cinematography could be better a bit. I would have preferred if the movie had a more darker look but maybe the director did not want the film to look too dark hence he used the brighter colors in filming it. There were few scenes that looked very good specially the scene where Bourne breaks into the building to find out why assassins are being sent. Just wished all scenes had the same darkness.

The Bad Stuff:
It's too good to be little? well, the main theme music was here and there in the movie. I just wish it was more used in more scenes. But again that does not downgrade the movie in any way. We always want the stuff we like more. Don't we?

Some Interesting Facts:
- This movie was shot at a budget of $68M. The movie became a big hit at the box office to generate over three times of its budget worldwide (about $214M)
- The film was set to be released in 2001 but got delayed because of the demand to reshoot several scenes and it even went over the initial budget.

The movie is really interesting and fun to watch. Watch it in its bluray version as it makes a difference.

The Matrix
This movie has a really amazing revolutionary concept and idea about life itself. It is really hard to think of it or understand it without watching the movie itself. Even though it is made to be a fully entertaining movie but it is one of those unique movies that leaves you questioning your existence!!!

The movie basically questions whether we are in a real world or a dream world being controlled by another invisible world!!. I'm sure many of us sometimes or even many times feel like "Oh this is not real" "Am I dreaming?". Yes Matrix is something like that. The story of The Matrix is about Neo (Keanu Reeves) who is the most dangerous and important man alive who does not know his abilities until he meets Morpheus and Trinity. He is being referred to as "The One". The one who everybody in Morpheus team has been waiting for. Of course there is another party too who are trying to protect The Matrix and keep people away from discovering it. There is a clash and fights going between the two parties all the time.

The acting was good throughout the movie but the main highlight was the unique story and the way The Matrix was filmed. Great stunts and special effects are there. The cinematography was awesome and remained very faithful to the movie. Through the whole movie you would notice the greenish color tent in all the scenes which I think made the movie atmosphere very techno. The director has done pretty good job in making the story reveals at a steady pace and keeping the interest of the audiences.

The Matrix is a movie you do not want to miss for any reason.

I loved this movie for many reasons. I really like how the director kept the pace of the movie quite steady but interesting at the same time. Impatient audiences might not continue watching. Bruce Willis gives a really warm performance here. I liked him very much. Samuel L Jackson was brilliant in his role too. I would have to say that this superhero movie is an extraordinary one. It is like a real comic book but without the super elements of any superhero (like Batman, superman etc..) and this is what makes Unbreakable unique and extraordinary. The director has made the right choice by casting his Sixth Sense hero again. I cannot imagine anyone else other than Bruce doing this role. I feel he elevated his character to a different height. As usual Shaymalan did not dissapoint his fans and gave us the shocking end which added the cream on the cake.

I would really recommend this beautiful movie.

This movie has been rated so low. Its not that bad I have seen movies worse than this with higher ratings.

Anyhow I have watched this and I thought it had some good moments. Acting wise it is flat but there twists here and there which will keep you engaged.

The story is about a college student Natalie who finds herself at the center of a series of sadistic murders. These murders are inspired by urban legends.

It was a fun movie and worth to be checked out.
I think a 60% rating for this one would be fair enough.

Watchmen
This is a graphic adaptation of the comic book series "Watchmen" from Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons. The story is set at 1985 during the cold war between the United States and the Soviet Union. The movie tells us the story of six retired superheroes. It starts when one of the superheroes named The Comedian (Jeffrey Dean Morgan)is murdered. The group finds out that there is a conspiracy against them and that they are being targeted. The movie gives a flashback on the previous years for each character from time to another which makes it very interesting. In 1985 and after the murder of the comedian two heroes remain active only one who is Dr. Manhattan (Billy Crudup) and he is working with the government and the other one is the masked Rorschach (Jackie Earle Haley) who again remains active illegally.

With the comedian's murder all the other Watchmen get together again to reveal the person who wants to eliminate them. Dr. Manhattan then get accused that he has been causing cancer to the people he spent time with. His current girlfriend and one of the watchmens Laurie Jupiter (Malin Akerman) leaves him and goes to love with Daniel Dreiberg (Patrick Wilson). Dr. Manhattan feels that he lost the only reason he had to stay on earth and he leaves to Mars. It is then when a nuclear explosion occurs in New York city and the person who gets blamed for it is Dr. Manhattan. Now who is behind that and why it happened? You need to watch Watchmen to know this.

It is very difficult to narrate the story of this movie as so many things are going at the same time. It was a really entertaining movie.

The Good stuff:
- The Story or shall I say the stories going on were really entertaining. It made a really good watching. The way the movie concentrates on each character at a time was very impressive. Each character has its own depth and had its own view and cause for the actions.
- The direction was too good. The way the director was moving with the movie between different time frames showing you the development of the characters until the current time is mind bowling.
- The cinematography is another hero in this movie as well as the special effects. This movie looks so good. All the frames were picturised in a perfect way that maintained the overall pace of the movie.
- The performances: I think all the superheroes were really good here. The performances were steady throughout the movie. Loved the narration of the journal as well.

The Neutral Stuff:
- for someone who might not read this comic book before it might be difficult to cope with the characters at the first one hour but then things will get eased up and you will be familiar with them at a later stage.

The Bad stuff:
- Well this is not a complain but an over 3 hours movie is really long to watch. it might get you tired. I have seen the director's cut but not sure how long the theatrical version is. But again once you get that connection with the characters you will dive inside the movie and forget the time. The only advice is to free yourself and concentrate.

Some Interesting Facts:
- The movie was shot at $130M budget and generated over $185M worldwide.
- Two other female stars were considered for the character of Laurie Jupiter. Those were Jessica Alba and Milla Jovovich but finally the film maker's choice was Malin Akerman.
- The real plan for making this movie started in 1986 but did not materialize until 2007 when the film shooting has started.

Final Verdict: Highly Recommended

Acting wise both the leads did good job and their acting were stable throughout the movie.

The movie doesnt have a great story to tell but it is those sweet candy light romantics. If you like these stuff then try watching the Wedding Planner

It is a good thing to see a movie about E.V.P but I dont think this movie lives upto the expectations. The story was just OK. Acting was plain and average at best. There were few sudden scares here and there but what the movie lacks is the scary atmosphere. It is a horror movie without the right atmosphere. Some scenes were pain others were just normal. I dont think the E.V.P subject has been utilized properly here. It is a time pass movie. watch it if you are curious.

The DVD has some good special features of real life E.V.P. It makes an interesting material for those who are interested.

I beleive this was the first movie to introduce zombies. The plot was ok. The overall atmosphere of the movie was good. Cannot say much about the acting. Exorcist II - The Heretic
Many would think this movie is bad. Compared to the Exorcist yes or even as a sequel. However, If you think about it as a separate movie then it is something else. I really love the background music and few scenes. Its not totally boring as it is said hence I would give it a 60%

Good Luck Chuck
Fun movie. Makes no sense. Many people hated it. I found it enjoyable. It's about Chuck and how he has been cursed since childhood that every girl he sleeps with gets married with the next guy she dates. The lucky charm thing gets spread in the town and Chuck finds himself with hundreds of girls. Until one day he meets Cam (Jessica Alba) and he feels that she is the right girl for him.

Dane Cook was cool and funny as Chunk and shared a good chemistry with Dan Fogler.
Jessica Alba was better in the first part of the movie as the girl who gets everything wrong but she became a bit boring in the second part when became more serious.

It's a fun movie. Give it a shot. You might like it.

Outbreak
I like disaster movies but this one was just an average one. Motaba virus gets spread in the town and the leads are looking for the host (an African monkey) that carries the antibodies of the sickness. There is a conflict between the medical group who wants to save the town and the millitary group who want to bomb the town and get rid of the sick people.

The film does not have much scope for acting. Good story but just an average execution. Sometimes the movie gets more into the drama genre rather than being a thriller or a disaster movie. Not the ideal disaster movie but yet no a bad one either.

A 50% would be fair enough as a rating for Outbreak.
