Fantastiska personporträtt, lite hastigt slut. Fint spel.

Fascinerande, men lång. En huvudperson som man först älskar och sedan, med årens gång, hatar för precis samma egenskaper. Ofrånkomligen fransk, både i sitt ljudspråk, konstnärsporträttering och kvinnosyn.

Gör precis vad den tänkt sig att göra, med bravur. En film där alla delar faller på plats.

Frustrating piece, tuching on a number of interesting topics, situations and relations.

Visually stunning, and seriously cringe-creating, but simple, effective and very true, in it's slow pace.

I absolutely, totally loved every minute of the genre-mixing story. It's been a long time since I felt so genuinly happy when I leave the theater. A gem.

Beautiful, and Cruz really was enchanting. I think I'm gonna need some time to process this one, but I can say right away that I liked it. Just not sure yet how much. The colors are great, the imagary fantastic, but I just don't know how memorable it's gonna be. Time will tell.

Amazing! Set in the cold north this is one of the warmest, most genuine and above all human films I have ever had the pleasure of watching. No dips, no flash, just real nice and caring people and a story that slowly unfolds at it's own pace. I was laughing a lot while watching, but not once at them, always with them. Plus also to the very talented cast.

I have no idea have to grade this film, because as brilliant and as funny as it was it got me so incredibly frustrated. I don't think I have ever been as disturbed, or filled with anxiety and existential angst after a film as today. I have been annoyed, scared, sad, even devasted after a powerful movie experience but today, for the first time, the dominante feeling was frustration. I never got the balance act of Kaufman's wierd surrealness (which I usually love) where the characters are more of a means to an end, to showcase something spectacular and/or insane, and the rel human connection part, where I'm asked to take the characters and their emotions and struggles seriously.
All the ingredients for greatness was there, but they never managed to blend together for me. I will however take with me the idea of an ever burning house as one of my favourite "way out there"-concepts that actually were excecuted.

I don't know if this is a great film, true, real and thought-provoking, or if it's a horrible film, dragging on forever on without ever connecting with the viewer. It was very different, and I will probably remeber it for a long time, but ultimately it falls on the fact that it had no entertainmentvalue. I think I smiled once during the entire film. Sorry, but I need to be bought of at least a little, especially for a film that clocks in on over two and a half hours.

Visually outstanding, with the distinct Ghibli-feel, strong female characters and a striking metaphoric approach. Worth mentioning is the amazing scene with the ghostplanes leaving for the endless sky. A pleasent experience that broadens the animated horizon a little, as always with Miyaski. He tends to go for soft impact rather than brutal.

A perfect film. In every aspect. An amazing opening, and streaks of animation and music that will linger on my mind for a long time to come. It's also educating, I didn't know anything about Libanon or this massacre (in my defence, I wasn't born when it happened, but still) and now i do. Because I asked. I asked everyone around me about Libanon. So now I know, and I will remember. That matters.
The creative choise to make this documentary as an animation was the brilliant streak that made it magical. We have seen documentarys with sad old men talking about thier war experiences before. We had never seen this. The blend of mediums, and the way they complement each other and formed something stronger than the individual pieces. A landmark film, and not only in animation.

It was a pretty amazing movie, in that tragic, angst-induldging I-will-never-watch-this-again-way. Dead on, with our social behaviour, how we relate to ouselves and to our lives and extrodinary, extrodinary performances at the center of it. Winslet and DiCaprio delivers, it's obvious that whatever it was that worked in Titanic ten years ago is still there, and the supporting cast is also teriffic. I havn't seen The Reader, but it had to be something to beat Winslets performance here, or I say she got the right award for the wrong movie 'cause damn! This story stands or falls with the actors, there is nothing to hide behind, and they are so up to the task.
It is a really heavy movie though, not the kind of smoth enjoyableness that we are accustomed to. There were laughs, in fact quite a few of them, but they were all tragic laughs, and the lingering feeling is sadness and worry that maybe one day I will look around and realize "this is how my life turned out. Wasn't there supposed to be more?*

Real solid, an impressive piece of work. Extra credit for a beautiful ending, with a voiceover that actually got to me, predictable or not. Color me impressed.

Great little Australian movie about death and dying. Experimental, heartwarming and over all wonderful. Just my kind of humor too.

I went to see this movie with low expectations. I figured it would be a depressing mess about life´s unfairness. But I was very pleasently surprised. Despite the heavy subjects, mainly centering around life´s unfairness, this is a warm, uplifting movie filled with charm and heart. You get the comical in the tragical, and to top it of it is excellently shot.

I loved how this story was told. The magic lays in the simpleness, no background music, no clean solution for every problem in the end. No one from Sherrybaby lived happily ever after. And that is what made them alive.

I can't point out anything specific, this is just an all over charming little piece that will make you smile. I promise.

A little on the slow side, but a great character study where a lot was said with very few words. So much changes without any changes ever really happening. Iit's also cliché-free (thank God!) and has absolutely amazing performances. I love Gosling, but he was actually out-done by that fantastic girl Epps. Looking forward to see where she will be going.

This is a little on the wierd side. Or actually, it's quite a lot on the wierd side. (Could possibly be the wierdest film I've ever seen!) And that's both it's weakness and it's strenght. Sometimes it's brilliant, so in sync with the tone of slightly mad sweetness and at those times I love it, sometimes I just don't get what the hell is going on. Over all though, enjoyable.

Many many laughs in this one. Brilliant dialouge and well used black and white. A hilarious experience.

Visually amazing, constantly thrilling, tight, clever and over all upsetting this movie tied a dark knot in my stomach that didn't loosen up for a couple of hours. If you have the patience and the imagination to feel the scent of Paris this is a must see. And if you don't, it's still well worth your time.
