Movies Watched

A good ending to the Harry Potter trilogy, but it was hit and miss. I think the movie started out great, a lot of mystery and suspense with wonderful imagery, but the Battle of Hogwarts scene was not as good as it could have been, and this was an important part of the book. I feel that they went over the top and focused too much on the special effects of this particular scene and rushed it, taking away from the emotional aspect. The death of characters such as Tonks and Lupkin were not highlighted enough, except for a quick view of their dead bodies. This was an important scene and should have been executed much better, instead I feel it was very much a mess. It should have been as long as the battle scenes in LOTR, if not longer. The scene of Harry seeing Snape's memories in the pensieve was excellent, I don't think it could have been any better. The death and evaporation of you know who into some sort of slow moving black flakes made for a lackluster ending, and one wonders if this was only added in for the 3D effect.

In conclusion, a good movie, but considering how much vivid material the book provided, not as good as it could have been for the ending to one of the greatest series of our time.
