Movies that shock, disturb, and disgust!

During my long and passionate affair with movies I've come to realize that I don't like mainstream films as much as I do bizarre films. That's not to say that I won't go see a blockbuster from time to time but I lean more towards the twisted and disturbing cinematic experience. By chance I've found the movies listed below and in each one there is a profoundly disturbing element.
To save other people the trouble of having to search for "shocking" cinema I've compiled my own list of twisted gems. Enjoy!

1	Repulsion 1965, Unrated) A woman's descent into madness. Watch for the parallel between her sanity and the rabbit.
2	Blue Velvet 1986, R)
3	A Clockwork Orange 1971, R) Rape, murder, brainwashing, hallucinogenic milk with a little Beethoven thrown into the mix. There is no better recipe for a movie then that!
4	Rabbits 2002, Unrated) All I can say is watch and draw your own conclusions. and if you want email me with them.
5	The Passion of the Christ 2004, R) I really loved this movie. It moved me in a way that no other movie has done before.. but there are extensive torture scenes which some people can't handle. If you can get past the gore and see this movie as the wonderful cinematic masterpiece that it is then you're in for a treat.
6	Salo (Salò o le 120 giornate di Sodoma) 1979, NC-17) Torture galore!
7	Justine (Cruel Passion) 1987, Unrated)
8	Weekend (Week End) 1967, Unrated) The traffic jam from hell.
9	Dressed to Kill 1980, R) You'll think twice about getting into an elevator.
10	Audition (Ôdishon) 1999, R) I have got to say that I love Takashi Miike! After David Lynch he is my favorite director. This movie is perfect genius. It starts out as a sweet love story and continues like that through most of the movie.. then when you least expect it you step out into the road and get hit with a bus that is the ending. If I'm allowed to make one request it would be please please do not look away you will miss some of the best screen time a film has ever had.
11	Gozu (Gokudô kyôfu dai-gekijô: Gozu) 2003, R) If you can explain this please email me.
12	Hostel 2006, R) Personally this isn't one of my favorite movies but who cares what I think? It's the general consensus that this is a good horror film. So watch it if you want but I wasn't impressed.. not even with the torture scenes.
13	Tromeo and Juliet 1996, R) A new take on an old story.
14	Suicide Club 2002, R) There are few films that have made me physically sick and this is one of them. That is all I have to say about it.. once you've watched it please let me know what you think.
15	Battle Royale 3D 2001, Unrated) I have one word or rather name.. Kiriyama. If you have no desire to see this film for the plot then watch it just for that character who is portrayed beautifully by Masanobu Ando.

32	13 Tzameti 2005, Unrated) Do not watch a preview for this film. I recommend that you go into the viewing of this film with no knowledge about it.. because it will hit you like a train and it's a wonderful experience to be so shocked and having not expected it.

35	Funny Games 2007, R) Have you ever gone to see a movie and while watching it you realize you don't want it to end? That's how I felt while viewing Funny Games. It was a wonderfully disturbing piece of cinema. The acting was better than I'd expected. Michael Pitt does a seriously wonderful job of being creepy in a subtle way. Some people complain that there isn't enough development of the characters in this film .. but I don't think that takes away from it at all. In fact the less we know about them the creepier it makes the film. As I left the theatre several people were asking themselves why? Why did they do what they did? If these questions had been answered I would have been very disappointed. It would have stolen something from the film.. something which makes this film stand out from all the other horror movies. If it's gore you want then this isn't the film for you. If you want psychological terror and sadism at it's finest then take your time to watch this movie. I think you'll be pleased.

45	The Champagne Club 2002, Unrated) This was one of the most disturbing movies I've seen. Normally a movie like this wouldn't bother me but they do weird stuff with food and that freaks me out. So check it out if you like shocking cinema otherwise stay clear.
