Wow ,another classic I can now cross off the list.I am falling for De Niro just a lot more with every movie I see him in.But this was very deep.Poor guy just really wanted to do the right thing. Its kind of sad he isolated himself away from his family and everyone and was so incredibly lonely. This was extremely good,Very Intense, some funny moments lol and a Jodie Foster so young it was incredible.Really glad I got to see this. |

Another superior movie that has eluded me for far too long.I have always loved Kathy Bates,In this movie you cannot help fall in love with her character. She is the greatest person, would do anything for anyone, except herself really. Her underdog tone in this movie is very believable,so does get a backbone down the line but the journey is sad and funny at the same time.I also have loved Mary Stuart Masterson forever, this was a stellar cast of women, although this is not just a movie for women or your typical chick flick at all.I will also add this every once in a while to break away from the glitz and digitally explosive hollywood is a great thing. You take a story that is very special and combine it with such a well rounded cast you create magic. The amazing thing is,For any woman if you are 17-75 you WILL find some part of this movie or one of the characters that you can relate to,or are maybe in the same sort of situation, there really is something here for everyone,I am truly ashamed with myself that I let this one go as long as I have.See it!!! |

See Casablanca, All About Eve, only watch Streetcar Named Desire if you enjoy drooling over Marlon Brando, & Clockwork Orange only if you enjoy bizarre movies with a deep philosophical message, Rocky Horror Picture Show & The World According to Garp shouldn't be missed, Dead Poets Society is a pretty good one too. I wouldn't worry about the rest, most of them are over-rated.

You're not missing much on some of these. i also haven't see the godfather, though, whenever it's on tv I can always point it out right away for what it is. it's too boring for me and i can't get into it. some you really should see: Casablanca, a streetcar named desire, the quiet man, and to kill a mockingbird. the rest that i've seen are eh... hit or miss.

you need to spend a 24 hours a day for the next week watching these!
