Great cast of actors in this movie!!! Okay! Yes, I AM a huge Tommy Lee Jones fan!! Not yet released.....set for a late September release....so I am told!
(2007 Director: Jon Turteltaub) When I had heard this sequel was almost as good as the original well, since my son & I could not wait for this sequel naturally, we just HAD TO SEE IT!@!@ Jon Voight in another amazing performance. Don't you love it when sequels do NOT disappoint?!? Ed Harris as the bad guy?? This film stars some of my all-time favorites. Who might that be? Harvey Keitel, Jon Voight, Helen Mirren, Ed Harris and Richard Cutting!! DON'T YOU LOVE THE TRIVIA ON THIS SITE?? TRY THESE ONES...JUST CHECK ON THE MOVIE PAGE FOR THE ANSWER....OH, COME ON?!? IT'S "NICOLAGE CAGE MOVIE WEEK"!!
The 2007 film "National Treasure: Book Of Secrets" stars Nicolas Cage and Ed Harris, and was produced by Jerry Bruckheimer. What other film also had these 3 men?
Dame Helen Mirren was invited to meet Queen Elizabeth II because of her role in The Queen. She had to turn down the opportunity because she was filming National Treasure: Book of Secrets. True or false?
In national treasure: book of secrets, what is the name of the city of gold?
(2009 Director: J. J. Adams) Interesting casting, for example, Eric Bana as the sinister villain, Capt. Nero, JOhn Cho as Sulu....keep in mind all of these are the Enterprise members in their super youth! A surprising Zoe Saldana as Uhura..and my personal favorite?!? Simon Pegg (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz & MI III) as young engineering genius Scotty~!
This remake, redo, alternate reality...sequel was action packed right from the first frame of the movie.. For those of U who haven't guessed it already, I am old enough to have seen the original series but wasn't originally interested. Since it was my brother's favorite, I watched more episodes and in later years could almost be described as a "Trekkie," no conventions or anything mind you,..
Is the focus in this new movie on Spock? Or is the focus on "Jim"? Originally I might have said Jim but then I certainly thought Spock. See how "into" the Star Trek characters devotees are? Certainly there is focus on James T. Kirk--whose rebel, outrageous fast-living ways + incredible reflexes + talent impress an old favorite, Capt. Pike.

(I had them in my 20's) That was when I met HIM..Mr. Richard Burton..or might as well have been!!....
Great cast. As a big Sigourney Weaver fan myself...which tells me that the script or story must be fantastic!! Alan Rickman is a great talent--think of him more as a classic stage actor...so this must be quite the personal performance film. I had heard nothing about this film--only one person on Flixster's recommendation.
(2004 Director: Michael Mayer) A Home at the End of the World, an intimate film based on a novel by Michael Cunningham (Pulitzer prize-winning author of The Hours). Oh stars one of my personal favorite actresses, Sissy Spacek AND the amazingly talented Colin Farrell. Preposterous lifestyles

awesome review by Danielle Staiss!!This sounds like intensely sensitive subject matter......daring to combine all of these different elements.....Grieving is a long process...My father just died and it reminds me of my brother's sudden untimely death years earlier....Looking forward to seeing this one.
I just loved the first 2 Ice Age movies. Not sure if it was because Ray Romano & Queen Latifah are the voice of the Wooly Mammoth, or because of Scrat...Who knows? Must be coming out soon...this "preview story" written 257 days ago said it was still in the making.."Posted by SexiVixxEN 257 days ago

Today, we have the first still from the upcoming "Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs," which features Scrat being caught between the teeth of a giant T-Rex.
Even though the film is still over a year away, the teaser for "Ice Age 3" is currently playing in front of "Horton Hears a Who." As with the first two films, the teaser features Scrat chasing an acorn. Since, I have not seen "Horton" in theaters, I can only guess that Scrat ends up in front of a dinosaur.
After helming the first two installments, Carlos Saldanha is returning to direct the third film, which is scheduled to hit theaters on July 1st, 2009."
Just saw it previewed on TV (Access Hollywood last night, I think) Looks like a tale of hope. Carey stars as an abused wife who gets a chance in the music business. Carey happily remarried in her currently "real" life...
This film has both James Earl Jones AND Max Von Sydrow AND Richard Burton too! Give a girl a moment!! Reason enough to see it!! AND a hypnosis machine!! HOW DID I MISS THIS ONE????

(2009 Director: Zack Snyder) Based on a 11988 Huho award-winning novel, "Watchmen" by Alan Moore & Dave Gibbons (League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, V for Vendetta) .
(1961 Director: Kurosawa) After I suppose a year + 1/2 on this site.....(sans 6 mos spent with my recently deceased father).....I have wondered what criteria goes into becoming a :Super Reviewer" on Flixster, this wonderful but very very young actually movie site!?!?!
Well. just in case you have been wondering too? READ the reviews of THIS MOVIE!!
(2001 Director: William Wenders) This sounds like a true portrait of Americana. Always love that in a movie, kind of like Humphrey Bogart's ear, God rest the greats!!
(1989 Director: Woody Allen) Co-stars Nartin Landau, Alan Alda & Mia Farrow. Mnother reviewer states, "...Martin Landau is a true legend and in this movie his acting is really superb. Woody is great, as are Mia Farrow and Alan Alda . This is an excellent movie."
(2009 Director: Ron Howard) Saw both Tom Hanks & Ron Howard interviewed on the Morning Show day before yesterday or so ago......sounded like this is SEQUEL TO THE DA VINCI CODE? Someone correct me please if I am wrong?
Bought the book The DaVinci Code...but haven't finished it yet. It is a well written mystery Robert Langdon's novel, Tell me more please someone? Anyone?
(1998 Director: Beeban Kidron) Good cast...another tragic tale of prejudice and unacceptance by community of strangers. Stars Ian McKellen (XMen, LOTR), Kathy Bates, Rachel Weisz (The Mummy), Joss Ackland and the charming Vincent Perez (Frankenstein, Queen of the Damned, Je reste!--I'm Staying!).
(1978 Director: John Milius) Stars Barbara Hale (aka Della Street-Perry Mason), Gary Busey, Jan-Michael Vincent, Jean-Michael Vincent & Fran Ryan (Ma Kettle
(1943 Director: Tim Whelan) Stars Frank Sinatra, Barbara Hale (Della Street-Perry Mason), Grace Hartman, Jack Haley (The Tinman-Wizard of Oz) & Leon Errol.
Qoutling a review from Netflix.. "Murmur of the Heart" tells a linear story of a 14 year-old adolescent boy, who comes from a bourgeois family, exploring and searching his identity and sexuality. Splashed with Freudian (Oedipus complex), Existential (Camus and suicide) and Proust (nature of art and homosexuality) overtones, the movie delivers a perverse and engaging narrative structure. "Peverse" in a sense that the movie is determined to counter to what is expected. "Peverse" in a sense that it suspense and rejects any absolute notion of what is right and proper, and challenges its audience to re-evaluate his/her values and opinions. One of the reviewers criticized the movie of how it didn't tell him how to feel about the controversial themes. On one hand, I believe, this reviewer is right. The movie does not hand out freebes or solutions to infidelity, homosexuality, indifferent and detached father, and incest. Like most of 14 year-old boys, its a period of time of struggle and frustration with one's own sexual identity. I don't believe that the film condones or excuses infidelity, incest, and child molestation (as one critic claims); on the contrary, "Murmur of the Heart" simply tells or shows a confused and, yet, intelligent boy, whose identity is still developing, without any signs of didactic, self-rightousness. It seems to me is that the main problem several critics have with the film is the sexual relationship between the mother and son. Absolutely it's perverse but it doesn't hinder and cheapen this great movie. Incest has been the subject of art since Shakespeare and Greek mythology.
(1969 Director: Sergio Leone) Powerful review by GaryX. This is a movie which I believe I have seen...just took me awhile to reailze it! May have to replay it to recall the sorrows of the plot..
(2008 Director: Neil LaBute) Have not heard much about this one but in reading friends' reviews here...WOw! Shockingly dark apparently...might make you think BEFORE buying a house!! LOL
Here is a short synposis quoting Arnold White's review on NY Press, "...The film was actually written by David Loughery and Howard Korder and produced by Will Smith, exercising his Mr. Hyde side. That means Smith is responsible for perpetrating the outlandish pairing of Jackson and LaBute, two of the most scandalous scoundrels in film history...." http://www.nypress.com/article-18830-walking-a-thin-blue-line.html
(2004 Director: Kay Pollak) Flixster compares movies...or lets us compare movies..anyway it listed this one as "similar" to "Chocolat"? Anyone seen it?
(2002 Director: Stefan Schwartz) Sounds interesting!? How did I miss this one? Thanks Ruba for sharing your review of this one!! Some great stars in it too.

(2007 Director: Julie Delpy) Passions might be a good subtitle, something Marion has alot of!! Oh..and running away when the going gets tough! About how to separate the girls from the women and the boys from the men....and learning how to! LOVED IT!! I might describe it as romantic flirtatious slapstick in the extreme bordering on burlesque. ALthough I didn't know the 2 main lead characters in this foreign film they seemed "relatable" I could relate to each of them....
(1967 Director: vittorio De Sica) I just love Italiian films, don't you? There is such romance, drama & breathlessness..not to mention the incredible scenery as a backdrop. I have read great reviews on this movie & it is at the top of my "To See" list--plus co-stars Michael Caine and the late Peter Sellers (Pink Panther)
1967 remember? Stars Sofia Loreen & Shirley MacLaine, much younger & very very vibrant!
(1979 Director: Richard Lester) I think it is important to understand our neighboring countries, don';t you? And Sean Connery starring?!? On TV this week!@
(Director: Mike Newell --to be releasted Summer 2010) REVIEWS...Sir Ben Kingsley and villain Alfred Molina (DaVinci Code, Spiderman 2 & Luther) co-star alongside Jake Gyllenhaal (Day After Tomorrow)...New Bond Girl Proud of Her 'Little Oddity' Posted by SexiVixxEN
Full Story: http://movies.yahoo.com/feature/gemmaarterton_blog... Bond girls have long been exceptional women. From Ursula Andress to Halle Berry, they have each embodied the feminine ideal of their particular time. Gemma Arterton, the statuesque stunner who plays Agent Fields in next month's Quantum of Solace, has proven herself to be exceptional not only for her English Rose beauty, but also because she was born with six fingers on each hand. "It's my little oddity that I'm really proud of," she said to Esquire magazine. "It makes me different." Different indeed. The condition, called Polydactyly, occurs in 1 of every 500 births. Don't bother looking for additional digits in the film, though. As a child, the surplus digits were "tied," which causes the boneless protrusions to fall off with time. She still bares bumpy scars where her extra appendages once were. Earlier this year, she revealed that she was also born with a crumpled ear, which was surgically corrected in childhood. "I was born with lots of deformities," the 22-year-old actress told the British press. Arterton, a graduate of London's Royal Academy of Dramatic Art who was best known for a BBC adaptation of Thomas Hardy's "Tess of the D'Urbervilles," beat out 1,500 contenders to become the latest Bond girl. She admitted to InStyle magazine that having to kiss Daniel Craig on her first day working on the film had her "giggling left, right, and center and being really immature." Next up for Arterton is the movie adaptation of the videogame Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, starring Jake Gyllenhaal, coming the summer of 2010. To see more of the genetically unusual but undeniably extraordinary future star, watch the behind-the-scenes video from "Quantum of Solace"
ACTORS: Sir Ben Kingsley, Alfred Molina, Gemma Atherton, Jake GGyllenheal...
(2009 Director: Oren Moverman) Steve Buscemi? Oh, I love Steve Bescemi's performances! AND Woody Harrelson and an otherwise great cast, sure I'd like to see htis movie!! Plus it takes courage to make a movie like this! Hey, we are at war, aren't we?
Anyone else heard that Woody Harrelson actually DID attend college in Indiana? Just read it on his profile!

(2010 Director: Dominic Sena) Looks like Cage is putting out 5 movies THIS YEAR!! Gee golly! This sounds promising since it is set in Medeival times..and has Nicolas Cage ever starred in a bad movie?!? I see it co-stars legendary Christopher Lee along with Ulrich Thomsen & Ron Perlman to name a few! RObert Sheehan plays the headstrong youth wishing to become a knight. Set during the Black Plague....Vote for your favorite Nicolage Cage movie! This is my designated "NICOLAS CAGE WEEK!" LOL
(2009 Director: Alex Proyas) Great review by Mr. Popcorn. Am a big Nicolas Cage fan. Will see this one soon...AS PART OF MY DESIGNATED NICOLAS CAGE WEEK!!
(2000 Director: Joan Chen) This movie is on TV right now...watching it (review to follow).Somewhat predictable story about a very ailing young lovely woman 9Winona Ryder) suffering from a brain tumour. Richard Gere plays her very fickle boyfriend who comes through for her in the end. (review to be continued)
(1962 Director: Ray Milland) On Channel 3.2 on TV today. The website www.rottentomatoes.com rated this movie as 63%! Here is their synopsis for this movie: A nuclear attack leaves Los Angeles in chaos and ignites panic throughout the city. Trying to escape the disaster, a family heads for their usual vacation spot only to encounter a group of hoodlums along the way.
Starring: Ray Milland, Frankie Avalon, Jean Hagen, Mary Mitchell" (My review to be added) "
(1958 Director: Stanley Kramer)Two of the most likeable escaped convicts, portrayed by Sidney Poitier & another of my favorite actors, Tony Curtis, escape shackled in the same pair of handcuffs. Together they battle the elements & each other as they travel Southern back roads eluding the ever-approaching posse. Though the device of binding two racial antagonists together for survival may be rather obvious,Curtis' & Potier's performances make for a compelling pair. Also co-starring: Theodore Bikel, Lon Chaney" Well what a great cast!!
(2007 Director: Richard Shepard) Ooohh! Looks like a good mystery with Bosnian intrigue! How interesting! I just love a good mystery suspense AND Richard Gere & Max Ivanir mixed with some other hotties!!
Okay..Rotten tomatoes gave this film an 86%??? Starring: Sidney Poitier, River Phoenix, Richard Bradford, Richard Lynch BUT...IS IT ON ANDY GARCIA'S TOP 5 MOVIES LIST??? Genre: Action/Adventure Synopsis: FBI agent Roy Parmenter (Sidney Poitier) meets young Jeff Grant (River Phoenix) when the teen applies for the Air Force Academy. But some information catches Parmenter's eye and alerts him to the... FBI agent Roy Parmenter (Sidney Poitier) meets young Jeff Grant (River Phoenix) when the teen applies for the Air Force Academy. But some information catches Parmenter's eye and alerts him to the fact that all is not right. He finds that Jeff is the son of "sleeper" Soviet agents, planted in the US many years ago. In the course of Roy's investigation, he manages to develop a warm friendship with the boy. So he can't help but to get involved when he finds that someone else is trying to disturb the Grants' quiet life -- Parmenter's old rival, KGB operative Karpov. Karpov wants to force the reluctant Grants to go after a renegade Russian spy. Now the two cold war adversaries, Parmenter and Karpov, become once again engaged in a battle of wits and nerves... with the fate of the Grants at stake
(2003 Director: Greg Marcks) Hmmm...this SOUNDS similar to BABEL with the entirely different story lines that converge. I suppose there is a proper name for that type of movie/story technique?!.
(1977 Director: Charles B. Pierce) This morning this is showing on RT TV 3.2 Recognize Jack Elam? Paul Fix? Ben Johnson? Lana Wood? Sharing a review I found from a www.rottentomatoes.com link: "The story is told from an Indian point of view. In the Montana of 1848, fur trapper John Colter (Ben Johnson) devotes his life in a relentless search to track down Cheyenne brave Grayeagle (Alex Cord), the kidnapper of his daughter Beth (Lana Wood, sister of Natalie). Ben is joined in the rescue attempt by Standing Bear (Iron Eyes) and, fellow trapper, Willis (Jack Elam)--in a search that leads to unsuspected truths for both father and daughter that involves Cheyenne Chief Running Wolf (Paul Fix).
The ways of the Indian, their dreams, and their utmost belief in their dreams as a representation of the cycle of life and death seem authentic. The film is intriguingly penned to show the Indian way of life as far less savage than the way the usual Hollywood Western depicts them, though it resorts to using too many clichés to make its points. There are great performances from Ben Johnson and Jack Elam, displaying moments of quiet dignity. But under Charles Pierce' helm (he also has a part as a madman), this film settles for just being so-so. The disjointed narrative reduces everything to a mess.
REVIEWED ON 4/29/2004 GRADE: C+ Dennis Schwartz: "Ozus' World Movie Reviews""
(1962 Directors George Paul & Henry Levin)(1962 Directors George Pal & Henry Levin) I know...biographies?! sigh...but sounds interesting. Something I find interesting about "dated" documentaries are their unique perspective which indubitably reflects the time of the making of the movie! Oooh & Barbara Eden, the wicked Terry Thomas, Claire Bloom (Florence Nightingale/The Spy Who Came In From the Cold) & Buddy Hackett. The preview on www.rottentomatoes.com shows the rather primitive special effects. Still if you are a lover of fairy tales like myself, it is probably worth seeing! All in all the biggest complaint from the reviews I have read was it was a bit too long (four stories though)
THis is from www.rottentomatoes.com: "Synopsis: Biography and fairy-tale mix in this magical and charming children's film that both relates the lives of folklorists Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm, and dramatizes several of their best loved stories. ... Biography and fairy-tale mix in this magical and charming children's film that both relates the lives of folklorists Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm, and dramatizes several of their best loved stories. Included are complete retellings of "The Dancing Princess", "The Cobbler and the Elves" and "The Singing Bone."
Starring: Laurence Harvey, Claire Bloom, Jim Backus, Yvette Mimieux"
This is about an FBI team which is sent into Saudi Arabia aka "The Kingdom," in search of a serial killer...NOT a terrorist...internal Saudi attacks.
Coincidentally I am reading a book titled "The Kingdom: Arabia & the House of Sa'ud" Saudi Arabia is a Kingdom, monarchy & has a very different legal system than we think of in the West.
(2008 Director: Ed Harris) Ed Harris directed this movie?!? Now I gotta see it!! Look at this cast!--from Jeremy Irons to James Gammon! Even Renee Zellweger + Viggo Mortensen co-star!
(2009 Director: Werner Herzog) Remake or not? Nicolas Cage believable as an injured police officer out-of-control as he returns to his New Orleans duties on pain medication.
(2008 Director: Lasse Hallstrom) Okay I know Lasse? But he's German. Hey give the guy a break! Making a movie with dogs as the subject matter...and your first name's Lasse? Now you KNOW why I'm NOT a commedienne, at least not professionally.
k Call me a "dog lover"! Born under the Sign of the Dog.. Yep seen most of the goodies--from Old Yeller to Eight Below, Iron Will & of course Call of the Wild I & II....Disney too? Canine? Feline? Even a good Buddhist (Richard Gere) in this movie!
Hey, step back Mister! Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa (Emperor Shang Tsung of Mortal Kombat video game & movie fame) co-stars in this film!< Look at the statue in Japan dedicated to this canine! div style="width:832px;">
I just read a review on this movie. Hadn't realized it had already been relased! Look at this cast! Julie Bentz, Peter Fonda, Bob Marley, Judd Nelson, Billy Connolly, Norman Reedus AND Sean Patrick Flanery in the lead role as Connor.
Okay a little trivia: WHo remembers Darla from one of my favorite TV Shows BUffy the Vampire Slayer & Angel?
(2008 Director: Nikolai Mullerschon) ATTENTION: HISTORY BUFFS!! Having watched & enjoyed Flyboys it only seems fair to watch a movie made about their counter villain, the infamous "Red Baron," BaronManfred von Richthofen (Matthias Schweighofer) flying ace!
Somehow I can't stop thinking about Snoopy (Peanuts) "The Flying Ace" while I watch this preview :)
(2008 Direktoren: Nikolai Mullerschon) AUFMERKSAMKEIT: GESCHICHTE SCHWABBELT!!
(2005 Directors: Egbert Van Hees & Stuart Samuels) Stars David Lynch...DUNE, Nadia, Rabbits)) Hmmmm.. I have never seen most of the movie El Topo which is one of the films covered in this documentary. R.H.P.S was sheer fantasy fun & genius combined with letting our barriers down...
(1995 Director: James Ivory) I am unfamiliar with James Ivory but am always amazed when I miss a perfectly enchanting film such as this. A wee bit younger Judi Dench as the more worldly writer Miss Lavish and Maggie Smith co-star. Maggie Smith portrays the senior cousin of Lucy Honeychuch (Helena Bonham Carter) and lends a proper air of sophistication as they travel abroad to Italy serving as chaperones of their younger cousin,
I do enjoy these stories of a more proper time. Why, in fact, it would seem few people actually..[more review to follow]
What a treat I'm looking forward to being able to finish this movie! Did you know there are several versions of 2012?
In this one... Danny Glover stars as U.S. President....co-stars include John Cusack, Oliver Platt, Thomas McCarthy (The Visitor, Meet the Parents) & Woody Harrelson to name a few. Rumblings all around...mass suicide by Mayans who believe the ancient predictions, removal/securing of classic art from museums, .[to be added to]...
Jesse James was one popular outlaw who grew to fame partly because of the vivid "dime novels" written about his life which centered on his reputation of robbing from the rich to give to the poor...Tyrone Power starred as Jesse in this 1939 movie.
In addition to a fascinating cast, the subject matter of this movie--an aged man (MauMau Kenyan veteran) deciding to finally learn to read and write--fascinates me! Kimani Ng'ang'a Maruge, Naomi Harris (Street Kings,Pirates of the Carribean) co-stars along with Tony Kgoroge (Blood Diamond, Lord of War )
(2008 Director: Steven Ayer) Based on Dominque's description of this movie as a cross between ("The Shield meets LA Confidential"). On of my most favorite movies, LA Confidential!...PLUS a great acting performance turned in by Keanu Reeves!
Whew! Look at the eye candy in this mob movie....starring Harvey Keitel (my idol) as .....Just priming the well for NEXT week's Favorite Actor of the Week....
Well I liked "Clan of the Cave Bears," which apparently Michael Chapman also directed....VIKINGS!! oooh la la for some eye candy!! Champion body builder & karate black belt Sven-Ole Thorsen (Cyborg 2 & Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story) co-stars!
