This remake, redo, alternate reality...sequel was action packed right from the first frame of the movie.. For those of U who haven't guessed it already, I am old enough to have seen the original series but wasn't originally interested. Since it was my brother's favorite, I watched more episodes and in later years could almost be described as a "Trekkie," no conventions or anything mind you,..
Is the focus in this new movie on Spock? Or is the focus on "Jim"? Originally I might have said Jim but then I certainly thought Spock. See how "into" the Star Trek characters devotees are? Certainly there is focus on James T. Kirk--whose rebel, outrageous fast-living ways + incredible reflexes + talent impress an old favorite, Capt. Pike.

Today, we have the first still from the upcoming "Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs," which features Scrat being caught between the teeth of a giant T-Rex.
Even though the film is still over a year away, the teaser for "Ice Age 3" is currently playing in front of "Horton Hears a Who." As with the first two films, the teaser features Scrat chasing an acorn. Since, I have not seen "Horton" in theaters, I can only guess that Scrat ends up in front of a dinosaur.
After helming the first two installments, Carlos Saldanha is returning to direct the third film, which is scheduled to hit theaters on July 1st, 2009."

Qoutling a review from Netflix.. "Murmur of the Heart" tells a linear story of a 14 year-old adolescent boy, who comes from a bourgeois family, exploring and searching his identity and sexuality. Splashed with Freudian (Oedipus complex), Existential (Camus and suicide) and Proust (nature of art and homosexuality) overtones, the movie delivers a perverse and engaging narrative structure. "Peverse" in a sense that the movie is determined to counter to what is expected. "Peverse" in a sense that it suspense and rejects any absolute notion of what is right and proper, and challenges its audience to re-evaluate his/her values and opinions. One of the reviewers criticized the movie of how it didn't tell him how to feel about the controversial themes. On one hand, I believe, this reviewer is right. The movie does not hand out freebes or solutions to infidelity, homosexuality, indifferent and detached father, and incest. Like most of 14 year-old boys, its a period of time of struggle and frustration with one's own sexual identity. I don't believe that the film condones or excuses infidelity, incest, and child molestation (as one critic claims); on the contrary, "Murmur of the Heart" simply tells or shows a confused and, yet, intelligent boy, whose identity is still developing, without any signs of didactic, self-rightousness. It seems to me is that the main problem several critics have with the film is the sexual relationship between the mother and son. Absolutely it's perverse but it doesn't hinder and cheapen this great movie. Incest has been the subject of art since Shakespeare and Greek mythology.

Bond girls have long been exceptional women. From Ursula Andress to Halle Berry, they have each embodied the feminine ideal of their particular time. Gemma Arterton, the statuesque stunner who plays Agent Fields in next month's Quantum of Solace, has proven herself to be exceptional not only for her English Rose beauty, but also because she was born with six fingers on each hand.
"It's my little oddity that I'm really proud of," she said to Esquire magazine. "It makes me different." Different indeed. The condition, called Polydactyly, occurs in 1 of every 500 births.
Don't bother looking for additional digits in the film, though. As a child, the surplus digits were "tied," which causes the boneless protrusions to fall off with time. She still bares bumpy scars where her extra appendages once were.
Earlier this year, she revealed that she was also born with a crumpled ear, which was surgically corrected in childhood. "I was born with lots of deformities," the 22-year-old actress told the British press.
Arterton, a graduate of London's Royal Academy of Dramatic Art who was best known for a BBC adaptation of Thomas Hardy's "Tess of the D'Urbervilles," beat out 1,500 contenders to become the latest Bond girl. She admitted to InStyle magazine that having to kiss Daniel Craig on her first day working on the film had her "giggling left, right, and center and being really immature."

In the Montana of 1848, fur trapper John Colter (Ben Johnson) devotes his life in a relentless search to track down Cheyenne brave Grayeagle (Alex Cord), the kidnapper of his daughter Beth (Lana Wood, sister of Natalie). Ben is joined in the rescue attempt by Standing Bear (Iron Eyes) and, fellow trapper, Willis (Jack Elam)--in a search that leads to unsuspected truths for both father and daughter that involves Cheyenne Chief Running Wolf (Paul Fix).
The ways of the Indian, their dreams, and their utmost belief in their dreams as a representation of the cycle of life and death seem authentic. The film is intriguingly penned to show the Indian way of life as far less savage than the way the usual Hollywood Western depicts them, though it resorts to using too many clichés to make its points. There are great performances from Ben Johnson and Jack Elam, displaying moments of quiet dignity. But under Charles Pierce' helm (he also has a part as a madman), this film settles for just being so-so. The disjointed narrative reduces everything to a mess.

Something I find interesting about "dated" documentaries are their unique perspective which indubitably reflects the time of the making of the movie! Oooh & Barbara Eden, the wicked Terry Thomas, Claire Bloom (Florence Nightingale/The Spy Who Came In From the Cold) & Buddy Hackett. The preview on www.rottentomatoes.com shows the rather primitive special effects. Still if you are a lover of fairy tales like myself, it is probably worth seeing! All in all the biggest complaint from the reviews I have read was it was a bit too long (four stories though)
