Batman Begins
Great casting, great acting, good script. Almost flawless, it's a classic. A brilliant start to a new Batman franchise. I loved this film when it came out and I still do. Those who haven't seen it yet should definitely watch it, preferrably before they go see The Dark Knight.

Spider-Man 2
Easily the best of the trilogy.
9
Spider-Man 3 2007,  PG-13)
Spider-Man 3
Very disappointing, too many flaws and plotholes. It seemed as if Sam Raimi messed some things up purposely, to avoid the studio wanting him to do another Spidey film. The only thing that redeems this film is how vastly entertaining it was at first.
Part of me sincerely hopes that this is the end of the Spider-Man franchise, it would be far too difficult to dig themselves out of the whole they dug themselves and I doubt that Tobey or Sam will sign up to do more sequels. I really hope this is the end, after seeing this film a few times I know how Horrible it is.
10
X-Men: The Last Stand 2006,  PG-13)
X-Men: The Last Stand
Very entertaining, not that loyal to the comics but neither were the first two films. This one was better than the first film but worse than the second. They left room for a fourth film but I doubt they'll start working on it anytime soon and I kinda hope they don't even bother...
11
X2: X-Men United 2003,  PG-13)

Insomnia
Good film, great performances by Al Pacino, Hilary Swank, and Robin Williams.
25
Ghost Rider 2007,  PG-13)
Ghost Rider
Not nearly as good as I wanted it to be. The plot lacked substance and the chemistry between Cage and Mendes wasn't that convincing because of the obvious age difference. Some of the acting was lacking and it was kinda cheesy. The character development for the villains was lacking. I don't understand how the hell Mark Steven Johnson got hired to direct this film. I almost liked this one better than "Daredevil" though, ALMOST.

30 Days of Night
Good film, very entertaining. The suspense is great, they did a great job building the tension from beginning to end. The climax was a little predictable to me but it was still good. Overall the concept was pretty original and very interesting, I might look for the original graphic novel to compare it to this film adaptation. Also, I'm definitely buying the dvd when it comes out.

Batman Beyond - Return of the Joker 2000,  PG-13)
47
Gone Baby Gone 2007,  R)
Gone Baby Gone
Good film, great performances all around.. surprisingly great direction by Ben Affleck...this kind of reminded me of a Clint Eastwood film. Casey Affleck is proving that he is great enough to rise up from beneath his older brother's shadow, proving himself a better actor.

American Gangster 2007,  R)

V for Vendetta 2006,  R)
53
Last Man Standing 1996,  R)
Last Man Standing
Decent western, kinda cheesy though..with some bad performances which take away from the seriousness of the plot. The writing could have been a lot better, Bruce Willlis makes the film though playing one tough bastard. Christopher Walken was good too.

American Psycho 2000,  R)
55
The Way of the Gun 2000,  R)
56
Requiem for a Dream 2000,  R)
57
The Dark Knight 2008,  PG-13)
The Dark Knight
Great film, almost more of a Crime-Drama/Psychological Thriller than a Comic Book hero movie. Great writing.

Performances:

Heath Ledger was a far better Joker than Jack Nicholson, I'm so serious. Ledger's Joker was haunting, twisted, psychotic, highly intelligent, witty as well as comedic, deadly...There are no words to adequately express how deep Ledger dived into this character. Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine were outstanding as usual.

Aaron Eckhart's portrayal of Gotham's tragic public hero Harvey Dent was amazing.

Gary Oldman was great as well, we got to see more sides of Gordon as he got even deeper into character this time around. Christian Bale's performance was intelligent, thoughtful, and precise as usual.

Maggie Gyllenhaal and Eric Roberts were good as well in their respective roles.

This is the best film I've gone to see in 2008 thus far.

I left the theater astonished, wanting more yet still content. This film took me to places I didn't expect.

I'll definitely see it a few more times, and I'm getting the dvd when it comes out.

This film is Christopher Nolan's masterpiece.

Iron Man 2008,  PG-13)
Iron Man
Great film, one of the best comic book adaptations I've ever seen. The cast, the writing and the acting were great ...I can't wait for the sequel.

P.S.- Everyone should stay after the credits because there's an extra scene.
59
The Incredible Hulk 2008,  PG-13)
The Incredible Hulk
Good film, great performances by Edward Norton and Tim Roth. Liv Tyler was sexy, she was a great choice for Betty Ross. William Hurt's performance as General Ross was good but a little cartoon-ish at times. The special effects were great, The Hulk looked alot more real in this one. an really close.

65
Watchmen 2009,  R)
Watchmen
Good film, very interesting plot and great performances by Jackie Earle Haley, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Patrick Wilson, and Carla Gugino. The weakest link in this film was Malin Akerman, she was extremely annoying.

Linewatch
Decent modern western/drama [Straight-To-DVD] about a Border Patrol Officer whose past as a gangster catches up with him. Good cinematography. Good performances by Cuba Gooding Jr., Omari Hardwick, and Evan Ross. Decent performance by Sharon Leal and Dean Norris. It was a bit slow in the beginning but as it progressed it got more entertaining. The ending could have been better, it was kind of predictable but it was realistic. Overall it's a solid film, with better writing and a bigger budget [which would have allowed for the casting of a better supporting cast...not to mention a score] it would have been a lot better. Cuba Gooding Jr. is still a great actor; he just needs more big screen roles for people to really appreciate him more.

GoodFellas 1990,  R)
GoodFellas
I know some of you are probably like: "This movie is OLD!" ...but I hadn't watched this movie from beginning to end since I was younger. I only remembered bits and pieces of it. I had the DVD sitting in my room still wrapped in plastic unopened, and I finally decided to watch it tonight. First off - great writing by author Nicholas Pileggi ["Wise Guy"], good cinematography and directing by the legendary Martin Scorsese. However, it's really the performances that made this movie what it was. Needless to say - Ray Liotta [whose narrating was a little annoying at times], Robert Deniro, Joe Pesci [as Hothead Tommy DeVito, he was definitely the highlight of this film], and Lorraine Bracco["The Sopranos"] were amazing in this film.Overall this film definitely deserves it's spot as one of the best crime dramas of all time but I've honestly seen better [namely Scorsese's masterpiece "The Departed"].

Blood Diamond

(500) Days of Summer 2009,  PG-13)
(500) Days of Summer
I've watched this film twice now [and I recently bought the DVD] but I'm just now getting around to reviewing it. Very interesting romance-drama/comedy. Great performances by Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel, very genuine. Good supporting performances by Chloe Moretz [she has bright future ahead of her], Geoffrey Arend, Clark Gregg, and Matthew Gray Gubler ["Criminal Minds"]. Great cinematography, the music is pretty good as well. Great writing [very realistic], I loved how the film moved back and forth in the time-line...showing the dynamic between them, and the ending was perfect. Overall it's a great film [spectacular movie-directorial debut by Marc Webb, who was recently hired to direct the Spider-Man reboot], and it's definitely one of the most intelligent and realistic relationship movies of all time. "This the story of boy meets girl...but this is not a love story".

I went into watching this film knowing exactly what kind of film it was, so I wasn't disappointed. However, I think with the cast they put together, it could have been a way better film. It's stylish with some good action scenes but it drags a bit. The characters were somewhat engaging but the story seemed a bit rushed, and Bruce Willis' character shouldn't have been the only character worth caring about. I've never read the comic book of the same name but something tells me that the storyline in the comic was probably more well thought out. The ending was a bit meh, the best scene was a brawl between Karl Urban and Bruce Willis. Standout performances by John Malkovich and Brian Cox. Overall it was decent, worth renting if you enjoy comedy-centric spy flicks.
