Most overrated movies

How sad that so many people like this crap. A good cast that is wasted on a foul mouthed story of homosexual rape, drug abuse, and disgusting scenes of pain and torture. I wish i hadn't sat through this mess. It doesn't say much for our society today when people call this entertainment. This film was made for 14 year old boys who say it's 'f------ amazing'....because they only know twenty words (half of which are swear words). This is the most overrated film ever....and with so many good films out there....it actually makes me angry that budding film makers are being influenced by this to make more similar rubbish.
Rant over. Here's what the half star's for - The cast, the music, and the bible text that Samuel l Jackson says. But everything else is immature, gross, and unlikable. And showing the film out of sequence might seem clever to some, but it's just there to break up the continuous use of violence and profanity... that's probably why it appeals to so many people under twenty. On the plus side, it's not as boring as The English Patient.

I have been unkind to this film in the past.
This is the 5th time of watching, and it's grown on me.
This film could be called 'two weddings, one funreal and a christening'.
It starts pretty dull - a 20 minute wedding which is totally unnecessary -
we get happy singing Itallians - meanwhile Brando almost sent me to sleep with his mumbling agony aunt routine. Thank God he's not in the picture all the time.
Anyway, Al Pacino enters the story and slowly the characters and story begin to shape. There are some memorable scenes (the resturant and the hospital, also the film guy waking up in his bed - that's when the film really starts.) The first hour is very castrophobic - mainly based in small dark rooms, then when Pacino leaves America the scenery expands.
I'm not a gangster movie fan. I probably won't watch The Godfather again untill i've forgotten the details. It's not one of my favourites....but it is a very good film.

I guess i just don't like what most people like. Stupid guy going down in a cage in the water.....to kill a white shark....hum if it can eat your boat, you're really safe in a bar cage!

It's ok. I don't know.....there are better 'desert' films out there. Didn't grab me. sorry.

I've got to add this to the most overracted films list.
Very average fairytale, as predictable as rain on bank holidays.

Think of the slowness of 'Alien', times it by two then add a creature bursting out of a stomach....subtract the amount of tension inside a tube of toothpaste....and divide the ageing process of this dull film by the number of times the crew look suspiciously at each other....and you'll find the answer isn't 42. Overrated claptrap.

The trailer and the reviews made this interesting enough to buy. BIG MISTAKE. I didn't care for any of the characters and the whole thing just wasn't worth bothering about. Therefore the violent parts had no effect on me because the film was emotionless. Some people are saying it's the best film they've seen.....well they can't have seen many.BTW some one on amazon said this was more brutal than 'The passion of the Christ'.......WHAT?
There are the usually few bloody moments you always get in a modern war film....but come on! That film is relentless in pain and horror....numbingly so much of it.

Probably one of the most boring films ever. Only the last 10 minutes had anything mildly interesting.

I never made it to the actually wedding.....i was bored stiff by 10 minutes, gave up after 30. The characters are lifeless and unlikable, the settings are the same - outside the house a car pulls up.....outside the house another car pulls up.....inside the house everyone sits down for dinner.....a woman has a fag in the toilet (highlight of the film).....Where is the 'Vibrant, refreshing and very enjoyable' it stated on the dvd cover? And 'Very funny, colourful and moving' ? I expect it all comes later. If i can't relate or get engrossed into a movie by the half hour stage, then it's not worth watching the rest because the director could have edited better. The only reason i'm bothering to rate this is because it's so highly rated everywhere on the net. I wanted to like it so much but it's just drab. Try 'Bend it Like Beckham', 'Lagaan' 'Stars On Earth', Arundhati or 'The Namesake' - instead.
