The King's Speech 2010,  PG-13)
The King's Speech
Nice and elegant picture about self-superation and friendship that counts with great interpretations, photography and artistic direction. I give a particular merit to this movie because for me (not very monarchic and living in a time where kings are just decorative figures), it was difficult to assume that a king´s speech can be important for nation, but the movie achieves to make you think it is (and also, makes you suffer with the task and circumstances of the main character). A good work, for me not the best of the year, but an interesting one.

The Queen 2006,  PG-13)
The Queen
A confrontation of generations and different ways to understand the world (which does not excuse the guilt in each one of the characters in this conflict). In any case, though the motivations of each one of sides are well explained, I continue thinking there are things about Royal family that you can only understand if you are British.

Elizabeth: The Golden Age 2007,  PG-13)
Elizabeth: The Golden Age
It is funny to see how this movie tries to transform the political and military fight between two nations in a combat of good against evil, evil which is represented by an almost satanic Philip II (and in this opinion there is no influx of my Spanish nationalitiy: I am not precisely a great fan of Philip II; however, historical exaggeration is not needed to speak bad about him). In any case, independently of the way in that history is transformed to be effectist, the movie is not interesting enough

The Other Boleyn Girl 2008,  PG-13)
The Other Boleyn Girl
Good interpretations -splendid Natalie Portman-, and also good expression of the relations among the characters. However, there is something that I did not like of the format, could not explain exactly what (maybe in original version it would have been better), and the main problem is that I have always considered all the story about Henry the VIIIth and his wifes is a non-sense. If not, I suppose I would have liked the film.

The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King 2003,  PG-13)
The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King
I am going just to just a single review for all the trilogy. Fortunately, I think that the whole means sometimes more than the sum of its parts: because of that, each of the movies is just 2.5 stars (too much battles and not a much original argument, by the way; it can be the first time of epic fantasy, but doesn't differ much from medieval legends or basic good-vs-evil stories), but the whole trilogy is 3-stars rated. Why? Because of some spectacular scenes (visual effects, yeah, but also good points in story), the character of Gollum (incredible), some strong characters and moments, and the effect that the ring provoked in people around it. These are the strongest points of a movie that, one way or another, should be done. Probably the result is the best you can take from Tolkien (even people says that Gollum character was magnified), so, perfect.
