Wonderfully brave and magically successful! This is a simple and beautifully cast near perfect tale. THE most enjoyable film I've seen for ages :)

The Notebook
I used to sell 100+ DVDs of this a week. Now after finally getting around to watching it, I can see why. Romantic dramas are not my thing, but this is the best I have ever seen. Fantastic viewing!

All together very watch-able. Williams is quite convincing as Monroe, but not as much so as Brannagh's portrayal of Noel Coward.

The Tourist 2010,  PG-13)
The Tourist
Just a steaming pile of self indulgent shit from start to finish. Not one redeeming scene. Avoid it at all costs.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo 2011,  R)
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
Whilst the lead characters in this version are much more in keeping with the books, Mara does not command the "sympathy" that Rapace did in the original. Empathy is also missing for Craig's adaptation of Bloemquvist. Deviations from the book do remove the impact at the end of his case but all together the film is tense and enjoyable. It is easier to follow than the Swedish version perhaps due to the language as much as our knowledge of the storyline. Definitely a strong, compelling thriller that's well worth watching and a difficult task by any means to compare to the original movie and adapt the book.

Nightfall
Aldo Ray offers such an unconvincing portrayal of the troubled war veteran hero of this film. Compounded with some major plot flaws that director Tourneur fails to lift it above the status of a B-grade noir.
